🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

im a theatrical romantic, and korean bangs (basically see through bangs with side pieces or soft curtain bangs that are commonly seen in korea) look really good on romantic body types.. the softness really add to the overall yin aesthetic without being overbearing
this is 100% correct
TR: side-swept long bangs, curtain bangs and rounded bangs.
That's my conclusion.
I think people kinda miss the point here. It’s not that people with romantic body type don’t look good with bangs, they just haven’t found the right one. All the shown examples are Western celebs with pretty heavy bangs, but if you look closer into Eastern hairstyles, especially Korean girls’ bangs, you can find it. They dont go with super heavy and blunt bangs, but rather soft and playing with different layers. I, myself a romantic-type, have a very wide forehead (way wider than those in the pictures because of my hairline grows pretty far) and ever since I got my haircut like Korean-type of bangs, not once I found regret or anybody I know complain about it. For someone who always feel insecure about hairline like me, it’s a lifechanging decision. Highly recommened.
Phương Trà Nguyễn I agree! The wispy kpop bangs (especially side swept or curtain) are super beautiful on romantics
I find that its partly the reason cutesy style is so popular there, asian rounded features really help to pull that off
you mean like these bangs? 9:07
Light Blue ruclips.net/video/ykZMVHTVN4w/видео.html i’d suggest looking at the curtain bangs in this video. I’ve considered bangs before and found that the bangs I saw in western culture seemed too dramatic and full for my liking, but I think the wispy bangs in this video are made to look VERY wispy, which I think matches with the vibe
I'm pretty sure my mom and I are romantics, and we both have pretty thin hair and any time we've gotten bangs they flatter us bc they are naturally wispy
How awaome would it be if you'd do fan pictures analysis who's with me?
Yess! But I would want to have my face censored, but yeah, that’s a great idea!
Omg yesss
Mee
I'm in! I have a confusing face shape. Sometimes it's square sometimes it's just round like a ball!🤣
every thing 🙋🏼♀️
Don't forget to like the video guys, let's support her hard work
Thank you so much!!
In the late 80s had my life changed by seeing Daviid Kibbe. He told me I was one of the most Romantic woman he ever met. Had bangs at the time. and he said they should go. Always had bangs. However, he stressed they would not work with the clothes. David wanted to keep the whole look together for each type.Otherwise it really doesn't work.
@Gamma Quadra Yeah, m curious about that as well. Perhaps they would look cute whereas the dress could be more sensuous I guess. not sure tho.
@Gamma Quadra Keeping in mind that in the 80s, there were different ideas on mind when someone said "bangs," I think part of Kibbes stance on romantics is that you want to embrace the delicacy of your features on your face. The wider cheeks and larger forehead were important to emphasize the impact of the eyes. So perhaps he didn't feel like covering part of the face would allow for that delicacy to stand out the way it needed to for a romantic. That's just my guess, of course. Nobody could answer for sure except for David!
Ever since i started watching your videos i've grown more and more accepting of my body. Thank you so, so much for showing us that literally all body types are beautiful and can look amazing. You're doing wonderful job.
The more I watch your videos, the more I know what suits me. I can wear everything I want for sure, but I'm becoming
the real me, a better version of myself, thanks to you and Kibbe ! I'm impressed by your work.
@Claire Simon did you get the book? How did you find it?
@@plasticfrog4533 I don't have it, it's too expensive on Amazon and too rare 😪
Can you do a Marilyn Monroe hair tutoriel , it would be so interesting
I think you could best achieve MM soft bouncy waves with hot rollers
I’m Romantic and I always found layered thin bangs suit best. Korean style bangs are a trend that closely resemble the look I mean. I cut my hair myself all my life, and I’m by no means a hairstylist, but my face always looked great in pictures when my hair was cut right. I have naturally curly hair, but I’d loved styling my bangs straight or wavy. So medium volume, long and short look cute but must be smooth with no bluntness. Layers layers and a face framing delicate bang!
I get it. I don't look good with bangs lmao 😂😂😂😂
Kiki Vivanco I think I need to get over my issues with my forehead 😂 I hide it behind bangs
Francesca Brindle most romantics have a big forehead lol, embrace it
Big forehead here 🖐️I use My bangs wavy and airy, not on purpouse justo because I don't know how to cut it. I guess I will just leave it like that 🤷
This was super informative. Romantics look better without bangs, this is what I learned throughout the video. And when I think about my romantic type friends it makes sense. They look not feminine with bangs. It looks out of place... Mannnn this is so enlightening to know
What about Rihanna she looks good almost everything
I’m theatrical romantic and I agree. They look heavy on us. We need ornateness like Aly says
@@1998-c3q well, Rihanna can really pull off anything. But I think her "good girl gone bad" era hair didn't suit her.
Wait, but I think Marilyn Monroe always looked better with those soft rounded bangs. Still confused...
I am a romantic and look terrible without bangs.
Christina Ricci with the blunt bang was just too extreme for her.
I'm a Romantic and I cut my bangs bc of a mental breakdown lmao and I regret it sooo much. I agree that my softer features doesn't really suit straight bangs, my pin straight hair doesn't help too.
I too cut my bangs because of being an emotional beast.... I wish you god speed growth and bed head sexiness fellow emotional hairdresser FAM
try the korean wispy bangs, I'm a romantic too, with rounded delicate face. I have bangs lol
@@bellaaprm that was what I was going for but I accidentally cut too thick and I looked like Dora the explorer lmao. It's grown out now and looks more like a fringe.
@@hoebihoebi2536 lol 😂😂😂
Ugh I do this all the time! I really thought that I looked good on straight bangs and long straight hair ( I wanted to look badass like seulgi from red velvet) it really sucks but I can't help myself being the emotional wreck that I am, my forehead is awful too so I don't know what to do; I don't want to give up my bangs even if I'm aware that they don't suit me at all :'(
I´m a TR. I personally think I look better without bangs, I love seeing my wavy hair pulled back with some volume on top showing the face, especially the cheekbones.
Super sleek hair/bangs look severe.
I´ve learned a lot since I found this channel, I´m way more happy with my body because now I understand, accept and respect its nature.
Thank you so much ❤️
Theatrical Romantics seem really lucky to be so at first, but finding our balance and suitable clothes that dont overwhelm us is really hard sometimes. There seems to be a trend of bright colored oversized items lately, or totally fitted/skimpy things. Also, hair seems really choppy/edgy and hairdressers don't seem to take it seriously when you ask for an elegant style. Maybe this is all because I live on the west coast...but everything is so large and extra that I feel that I need to swim against the tide to find my styles.
@@chucksareforshmucks5520 I definitely relate to you! Maybe we should start purchasing some vintage items. Mainstream clothing are not suited for R/TR, I a lot of times have to pick some pieces and get my butt to the dressmaker 😓
Same here! I recently foundthat with a short bang, my wavy hair put them on the top on my head for extra volume !
I think us Theatrical Romantics look better without bangs. I wore bangs for my teenage years- what a mistake! I’ve uploaded a video with my I think “Ideal” Theatrical Romantic 💄 makeup routine is if it can help anyone as your videos have helped me. Please upload more theatrical romantic videos as well! You have your own opinions besides Kibbe!
Your analyses are amazing and I've eagerly been anticipating your bangs videos! I can't wait for the Gamine video.
10:44 "and here she is in a *very* interesting experiment" idk why that made me laugh :D
Not entirely sure what that hairstyle was about
I like Rachel McAdams with the darker haircolour too and the cut is not bad either. She is pretty anyway and I think it suits her but with the blond hair she is even more bautiful, I agree!
actually i loved rachel mcadams with the reddish wispy bang look.
Nice video! I have an opinion on wispy bangs: they look dramatically better when the hair is the same color as the skin (roughly), not high-contrast. So blonde on Marilyn, honey brown on Beyonce, carmel blonde on JLo, etc. It's more about light-dark value than color, for instance there's no difference between light ginger or blonde on a pale person. Very high-contrast wispy bangs can look harsh (platinum over dark skin, chocolate over pale), and dark wispy bangs specifically against mid-light skin look dirty and unkempt unless they're SUPER clean and styled. This is less true for center-parted curtain bangs, though still a bit. SOOO, romantics and other should consider the color to make the bangs softer.
Do a lot of romantics just naturally have a wider forehead?
I would think that it may be true...because estrogen (yin) causes bones to fuse/stop growing early. I read some studies before that if you have more estrogen your lower half of face will be smaller/shorter because it didn't grow much. Which then I guess means that in terms of proportions, your forehead would look bigger. Like babies, hahaha. Just a thought.
@@Amanda-ke8gt that's really interesting!
Maybe it's more common but I think Drew Barrymore and Kate Winslet have not such wide foreheads? Mine is not so wide but I think I'm a romantic...
@@EmmaLemmon Yeah, I mean there may be a trend, but I definitely don't think it's by any means necessary to have a wide forehead in order to be a romantic.
I agree Kate and Drew don't really have such wide foreheads.
I think you're so lucky you don't have such a wide forehead and (likely) a romantic! No need to worry about bangs then!
@@Amanda-ke8gt yeah I was wondering about bangs because my hair is very curly and I've seen some nice curly bangs photos recently. I don't think I'm going to do it though, generally I prefer romantic faces I've seen here without bangs. It's funny how it's much easier to see what suits other people than what suits yourself?
I would Love if you would take photos from your viewers and would Tell wich body tipe she is
You have so much Knowledge and such a good Taste
I wish we could send you pics & you could tell us what we are, lol. I think I'm a gamine since I look good with short, blunt bangs.
I commented my instagram and she took a look and reply, sent back and watched all the videos from my new perspective!
I think Christina Ricci looks best when she doesn't have a fringe. She has a unique, adorable beauty reminiscent of Carolyne Jones. She seems so much more like a Theatrical Romantic than a Romantic to me, though she certainly seemed a Romantic in the 90s. I wonder if Kibbe takes baby fat into consideration? I know it shouldn't matter...
Your speaking of the feeling of "femininity working against them" brings to mind something I noticed a bit ago regarding androgynous style. Personally, I find women who can wear androgynous style absolutely stunning. There are some women who can do so without appearing any less feminine-in fact, they look more feminine even in very butch clothing and hairstyles. (I prefer the gentlemanly sort of androgynous to the lumberjack sort though.) Annie Lennox, Mary Gross, Tilda Swinton, Grace Jones, for example. For some women, however, that look works against them. They appear a bit frumpy and plain when they dress butch. Of course, everyone should dress in whatever way they like and no one is obliged to only wear clothes that I think suit them. Who am I, after all? I notice the same with men who prefer dressing androgynously-which means incorporating more feminine pieces in their case-as well. Some men can wear a dress wonderfully. There are others, however, who look comical. It's about matching the balance in your clothes to the balance in your body. My, was that a tangent!
Christiana Ricci is definitely Soft Gamine.
10:50 how I think I´m gonna look with baby bangs (right) vs how I actually look (left) lol
this actually explains why, a romantic myself, looked weird with bangs, I love them but I think I look better without them,
Mee I couldn't get more exited ty Aly I really appreciat your efforts
Aly you are awsome! Love your inteligent, beauty, tallent.. all of you... I watch every video on yours chanel. Hug and kisses from Serbia, love you.
Koji si tip Dragana? :)
Emilia Clarke and Beyoncé are my favorite romantics ❤️
I found out I was a theatrical romantic about a week after getting a shag haircut 😭
Ive found that for our type of face the see through bangs or "korean style" looks gorgeous! And with slight curl it frames the face really well without looking heavy!
Wow, I always had straight cut bangs from time to time because I felt like I had to cover my spacious forehead. But you made me see side/no bangs in a better light, and I have always felt like the side bangs complimented my face better 😊 thank you for this video
I always wondered why I hated myself in bangs, until I swept them to the side... lol. Lord, every time I watch a theatrical romantic guide you've made, it's like you're summarizing the frustrations of my life.
I thought Christina Ricci was a soft gamine. I struggle to distinguish :D
yes her face has a soft gamine vibe 😊
And Salma Hayek is definitely romantic. She's just too soft and rounded to be tr, there's no femme fatale face - it's makeup only.
joanna jastrzębska no her jaw is too strong and her nose aswell
@@joannajastrzebska7623 Nah, Salma Hayek is definitely TR. Angular jaw. Face and nose is not fleshy, very thin ankles and wrists. Her shoulders are angular as well, but with some fleshyness.
@@toulouseberlioz910 She isn't. She's too fleshy to be TR. And she doesn't have that misterious femme fatale Vibe and charisma.
Can you maybe make a video about David Kibbe hat types?
That explains why I'm always struggling with bangs. I have a big forehead and love straight bangs but it just never looked good on me. The last time I had cut bangs I decided after a week to wear it sideways to grow it out.
I love bangs on myself, but I acknowledge It makes me look childish. I think I'm in between R and TR.
Thank you so much! I want to cut my bangs but I'll wait till the gamine video! Love your content, it's amazing ❤️
I love these videos, I bought a rounded glasses cause I stoped to try hide my round face, who cares? its round, and thats ok, and the glasses fix gorg in my face, thanks for those videos
I have curly hair and I looked severe with long side bangs. I look much better with shorter ornate curly bangs. It's all about the hair texture.
Please do hair styles for nose types!!!!! I feel like it would be really helpful for hairstyles to flatter different noses.
I cannot wait for the gamine video!!!
Ты прелесть и умница, сподвигнешь меня к пониманию английского, очень нравится твоя подача и разделяю твой подход к системе Кибби, наши русские блогеры все маленьких в гамины записывают, это тупо :-)
I thought I was theatrical romantic but that description you just gave doesn’t fit me! I have a very narrow waist, I’m 5’4” with mostly yin bones soarer from my shoulders aren’t as round as a true romantic and I also have a bigger nose and thinner lips?
I don't think you are theatrical romantic maybe u are soft gamine u can watch video about difference between theatrical romantic and soft gamine on Merriam style channel cuz u know diffrences is tricky sometimes 😅
If I have the face of a famine but the body of a romantic. What type am I’?
hi! i loved your first video, i just wish you added some black women.. zendaya for example is a dramatic and my body is just like hers so i wish you added her to know about her hairstyles
Thank you! Now i finally know what bangs will suit me better
Thank you Aly, you are fantastic 😍
We stan a queen who uploads consistently!!! ❤️
I got that Christina Ricci forehead/round face and I have often been told I need to hide it. No more. I'm embracing it. Thank you so much for this video.
The kibbe body types make so much more sense than the other stuff. I have an oval face and hourglass figure, and with the other logic I should look good in everything but i don’t. I’m a romantic type according to kibbe, and it makes so much more sense, I agree with everything being said.
This video showed the reason why I've ALWAYS hated when my mom forced me to use EXTREMELY straight hair when I was younger instead of my natural hair texture... Like, my hair is straight, but it's not an 1A with low volume - I'm an 1B/1C on some parts and my hair is very voluminous
Nowadays I have found that a long bob kinda layered, with that characteristic romantic flow, kinda rounded with a little round, flowy fringe is a perfect match on me 🖤
And now I'm 100% sure I'm romantic type
I scored 165 on Kibbe test,
Romantic body type 🌹
same !! scored 167
I don't give a damn about looks. I don't even color my gray hairs or use make up. It's just I like hearing you. You know what you talk about and it's difficult to find someone who does nowadays. Keep the great job.
I think I'm either a romantic or a soft natural but my hair is really curly and thick and the way my hairdresser cut it gives me tons of volume. I like it but I dont really know if it fits my face
Opposite opinion
I think Rachel McAdams look good in dark brown hair. That makes her eyes standout.
Hi Aly, love your videos and this series is great, too. However... since you're talking about hair and bangs now, I'm sorry but I cannot focus because I'm looking at your new hairstyle and thinking it's not doing you a favour... It seems to me too flat and the single length looks strange on you... very harsh. I don't know the theory as well as you do, but I think some soft wave closer to the face enhances your beauty much better.
Hi, one of Aly's recent videos explains her hair journey and why she currently has this hairstyle. It seemed like she is trying to concentrate on the health of her hair right now, and waiting for it to grow out to a style that suits her better.
I am a Theatrical Romantic and I love my short Betty Bangs! 🖤
Aaaaa I'm a TR with naturally dark hair and I've been wanting to use betty bangs since forever but I'm scared that they will look weird
Everytime I want to get bangs I watch this vídeo
Aly, you are a REAL artist, no doubt about it. 💟Amazing💟 insights you give us, way above what we may find on RUclips 👏👏👏
Dear Aly
I love your discussion on Christina Ricci. I wish you can give that to every woman in the world.
I'm really starting to think I might have TR lines now. I've tried many kinds of bangs in the past but they never improve me, despite having a large forehead (larger than miss Ricci's, haha) now I see R lines are better suited without. Makes sense! Thank you dear Aly! 💜
This is funny because I have always hated bangs 😂 and Im a romantic i think
I’m a theatrical romantic and my hair is thin and flat. I can’t do anything with it
kat x omg girl same 😭😭 I feel your pain. It’s so fine and I would have to backcomb it within an inch of its life for any sort of volume...for it then to go flat in about 2 hours
Francesca Brindle I use dry shampoo to give it some sort of volume/thickness look to it and it also because it gets greasy so quickly:/
Francesca Brindle also, I think straight-ish hair looks better on us TRs anyway, just look at Rihanna and some Instagram pop singer named Madison Beer (I’m pretty sure she’s a TR). I think the soft voluminous look fits Romantics better imo.
Love how you analyze things. So smart. Very helpful! Thank you!
Omg I'm a bit scared before watching this video because I've cut my bangs last week. I'm worried I did all wrong haha.
edit: Ok I'm relieved the ones I have aren't bad haha.
Fashion is my passion and I love your videos !! Keep up the good work !
Do you know the fashion blogger Matilda Djerf ? I think she's a romantic and I love her style. She has a gorgeous hairstyle with bangs. Do you think it suits her ?
Such a good video! I‘m a romatic or theatrical romatic (still unsure). And I‘ve always been drawn to Drew Barrymore, Kate Winslet and Rachel McAdams and wanted to achieve a look like theirs - now I know why! I cut my bangs last spring and I loved it. Now growing them out in a Brigitte Bardot kinda way hopefully...
I love you soooo much you're full of tallent and your "beauty vision" is so interesting, so true. I think you're vision is not that much influenced by the nowadays "Instagram" vison of beauty.
You made me realized that beauty is in every body and you're trying to inhanse the beauty not to change the personne. You really make a differance in my life about your vision of beauty and all...
Thank you soooo much.
Sorry if it's not that understandable because I'm French so...
Aniway, thank you and keep being your self and thank you to share with us all your tallent and you're goodness ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So....do you do personal consultations? Cuz GIRL I need help lol
can you tell how romantics could use baby bangs?
I love how precise and eloquent you are, so wonderful to listen to
can theatrical romantics pull off straight hair if it's not too sleek and flat?
Drew Barrymore's entire look and wardrobe in Ever After.... i die every time, just so stunning! The more I learn about the Kibbe system, the more I realize why my wardrobe is the way it is and the reason I gravitate towards the same styles and lines over and over again. Lovely video!
Every time I watch your video it’s nothing but enlightenment. And also loving my physical attributes more. This means so much to me and to the world ❤️❤️❤️ Keep up the good work!
Your videos are so ridiculously, insanely packed with educational information I could probably binge watch your videos on loop for years and not absorb everything I feel like you teach. ♥
What kind of pixie cut would you reccommend for a romantic body type?
Thank you so much Aly🙏😭
You're teaching me to love myself.
"Look at her being her." -Aly
Your videos are just top notch
Can't wait for soft gamine and soft classic cuz I'm confused🤔.. If baseball cap, sneakers and sweatshirt suitable for me more than high heels and kind of cloth that looks good on ladies is that mean that iam soft gamine
Here we go again😄 I commented to you on Alys video 2 days ago. I think soft gamines don't have to look boyish ot shouldn't look like little boys. It's all about the femininity. And looking feminine has nothing to do with wearing high heels and skirts. It's about how you carry the femininity without looking trying to hard. I'm still in the opinion that you are a soft classic. Bc merriam style, another RUclipsr and fashion designer talks about kibbe and her videos also helped me a bit. I think you look very evenly in proportion. and remind me of the 50s classic era. And even if you are maybe short (which I don't know) yoi don't look short at all. The head size helps also a lot if someone is more gamine or dramatic.
Oh and I'm sorry! In the previous video I meant soft classic! So sorry for the irritating🙏🙏🙏
@@nesminra8982 u right girl 💯 now i just watced Merriam style about confusion about soft gamine and TR she mentioned soft classic in the video.. My height is 163cm but people thought iam below 160. my head is small but all my bones is abit narrow anyway.. And about classic era yeaah I'm actually in 50s fashion
4:49 I related so strong with what you said because I have the same issue, I desperately wish I had a more yang body type because that’s what I prefer and relate to (although I really appreciate yin styles as well) but my body was like nope and this gives me a constant hassle cause I feel like one has to give my body or my Mind
I'm tr and I have 2c/3a hair. I feel like it doesn't suit me.. But I don't want to damage my hair. What can I do? 😭
Of course it suits you. It's just that all the representatives or examples of our body type have straight hair, or wear their hair straight ( or a wig).
There's nothing more beautiful than curly bangs. You just have to find the type of bangs or hairstyles for your face.
Im tr and i look good with bangs 😂
😍😍😍😍 спасибо!
I really like your videos it's so inspirational i don't know much about fashion but watching you talking about it makes it seem so interesting
the fact that you raised my self steem by talking those things about women who looks just like me... honey im in tears
I am the romantic type and I totally agree with the video!! My hair used to be short and it would lay flat against my head. My feminine features played against it heavily. Now I have curly and wispy bangs along with mid-length hair, which is more pleasant on me. I've been told I look very very similar to Emilia Clarke
Hmm, I'm confused about my body type ( I'm either romantic / theatrical romantic or soft gamine) but I think I look way better with bangs, it frames my face in a beautiful way
That moment when you recognize your face in all of the ones shown in the video.. guess I found my body type, haha 😅
I completely disagree with your assessment of Rachel McAdams, she looks old with her hair pushed back
Can't wait for soft classic bangs!
Am I the only one that loved Drew Barrymore with the baby bangs?
I did too, I thought she looked really cute. They were curved bangs though? I think romantics can do shorter curvy bangs.
I always wore bangs! Since childhood. So much so that every time I change my look, the bangs always add their charm.
However, when I was a child I wore bangs to cover my forehead. But in my adolescence and adulthood, I only wore side bangs, but I don't know which side is best for bangs for those with the Romantic body type.
Whether it's on the left or right side
I agree.....Rachel McAdams looks better in a lighter hair color, as the darker color weighs her down
I actually always preferred cooler toned darker brunette on Rachel McAdams, it brightens her skin and brings out her eyes, it’s the warm lighter brown that doesn’t quite look right, but I do agree about the bangs!
I actually love 10:52 that looks amazing, although I do agree that the eyebrows and eyemakeup might be too dramatic
