Hey, sorry to bring up the height topic again, but wasn't Hedy Lamarr 5ft7 and certified a TR nonetheless? I'm wondering because I'm 5ft 6 and have a similar facial structure and body shape.
idk bb, honestly I feel like the celebrity aspect of the Image IDs is sooooo confusing, it's like "oh they are just examples, don't compare yourself" but, how can they be examples if they don't fit the physical description??? I can say that I have met Susan, David's TR muse, and she is VERY petite, so I really think TR is meant to be extra-petite (the combination of extreme yin size and the extra yang narrow frame). At the same time, as I say in my "kibbe and height" video, it's like... if you sense that your essence is the Femme Fatale Chic, and your interpretation of TR is what makes you feel alive and beautiful, then self-IDing as a TR is a celebration of yourself and a pathway into finding your style. The "danger" isn't in doing something "wrong", it's just in boxing yourself in and pushing yourself into a direction that doesn't help you shine and feel proud of who you physically are. My heart goes out to you and all of the other beautiful ladies confused about the TR!!! This is my most watched video in the Image ID series, even though I barely know any TR in real life, so it's obviously something special, confusing, and tricky about this ID.
Hope you don’t mind me offering my 2 cents. I thought I might be TR because I am curvy with a delicate bone structure. On the quiz I have majority D answers. But I’m tall (5’8”). I didn’t know “narrow” and “elongated” could count for the yang of soft dramatic. What I wasn’t realizing is that my vertical line is my dominant characteristic, the first thing people would notice about me. So I would say for someone 5’7” are you height dominant? Or do you appear more petite and delicate?
@@amk1689 Hmmm, though question. People always assume that I'm taller than I actually am, but overall my body - mostly from the waist to the top - is delicate.
@@iasmine_caroccia When people assume you are taller than you are, you must have a long vertical line. My view of the quiz (now) is that the 16 answers don’t have equal weight. Vertical line is at the top of the list, maybe, and then I suppose hair being at the bottom. My understanding is that petite-ness is a necessary quality of TR. And being delicate is a possible trait of SD, if there is elongation, and narrowness or sharpness.
Definitely my body type. I have a very soft hourglass with wider shoulders and hips slightly smaller. I was confused so long bc everyone talks about this big full hourglass womanly shape and I’m just a much lesser version of that 😅😂
Yeah, they are very similar, I discuss this in the SG video! I didn't mean that TR and SD are the most similar, but just addressing the "tall TR" idea.
@@saraelrayes I know, I really love this system! I've been thinking about it a lot, and I think I must be theatrical romantic because I'm so short!☺️ Maybe that will help you.
I’m 5’5, but most people either guess my height correctly or think I’m slightly shorter. Apparently a possible thing with TR is having a slightly larger appearing head, which tends to make people look shorter. There are probably exceptions, but y’know. Also, when I’m thin, I still have round hips and thighs, but I get SO small. I prefer to have a little more weight because even weighing 120 (Which I think is pretty average for 5’5) makes me look so tiny, and I like my curves to pop more. I’m done rambling, I’m just wondering if any other TR women are this way haha
I feel like the true test to determine between a Theatrical Romantic Image ID and Romantic is how well a TR carries off a suit jacket or vest versus Romantic. I've been going back and forth between the two, and then I remembered how a military style (structured) yet waist accentuating jacket suited me. My mother and I have a very similar figure and she looked amazing in her like pink jacket and pants which I still remember after almost a decade. Tbh, I don't think Susan Sarandon, a Romantic, looks great in that somewhat masculine cut suit jacket. So that slight yang helps TR wear more masculine lines, whereas a pure yin Romantic can look a bit frumpy.
the comparisons between Rs and TRs were very helpful, I thought it was obvious how they were different. as a taller woman I am now wanting to learn more about SDs too!
I think you hit it on the head with the difference really being in their attitude, their personalities. Very similar body types but the WAY she carries herself, what she feels comfortable and powerful in.
I found two TR celebrities: Lacey Chabert (who played Gretchen in mean girls) and Camila Cabello (who I have a video about). Just in case someone is looking for some TR tips.
Can you please analyse and let me know what kibbe types Leighton Meester and Jaclyn Smith (Charlie's Angels) are? I have similar body type as them. They are sometimes typed as TR but also Soft classic and for jaclyn smith some even show her in Soft dramatic.. Which is very confusing. I'm 5'6 but people have told me I look smaller, around 5'4 and I feel that's kind of the case with these two ladies, they both look shorter than their real height, Jaclyn Smith is 5'7 and Leighton is 5'5
The most accurate description of TR. Love the explanation, too. Thank you! I feel we can only wear either fitted dresses or vintage-looking ones (if flowy) - none of which are really "wearable" for a young lady in 2021... Could you please make a video for the best type of dresses (for different occasions) for TR?
Thank you so much for this Rita! I was mostly convinced that I was a Romantic until I forced my guy friend and my gal friend to do it with me. When I told them I was 5'3" they were shocked (most people think I'm 5'6") but it was essence that finally convinced me. People always say I'm so confident before I even open my mouth or when I'm nervous as hell they say I speak with authority, which definitely is more to do with the impression I give off than my reality. This explains essence a lot more and it helped so much!
Oh wow I never heard of these body types before, did a Kibbe test and I'm Theatrical Romantic! Sums up my often thought odd but cute body with my tiny frame holding lots of curves, and my very feminine but underlying oddly masculine edge to my facial features. I get it now! I feel understood!! :)
I am confused with TR and Soft Clasic. Some of my features appear average to me but people have commented on my 'hour glass' figure. I have a leaner upper body with broad shoulders, a narrow waist and fleshy thighs and calfs. So I don't know where I sort of fit. Great voice too 😀
I’m 5’4 with a very romantic face... like there’s zero angularity on my face. My body is very TR though. I have sharper shoulders, a small waist and large hips. I don’t know if I’m romantic or theatrical lol.
You are probably TR. TR has a really small amount of yang. The sharpness in your shoulders would be too much yang to make you a romantic, but just enough to make you TR
@@ilinel1321 since this comment was eight months ago I know it was my last profile picture, for that look I actually followed the Lisa Eldridge Marilyn Monroe makeup tutorial! Sorry for the delay!
I think I'm TR. I always looked like a woman, even as a child people would tell me all my life. I am quite similar in structure to Vivien Leigh/Hedy Lamarr in face and body. I am tiny but am very hourglass with pronounced cheekbones and dainty hands/feet like a child.
I really support people analyzing celebrities if you find it interesting or helpful! personally I am more interested in understanding the Image IDs as DK describes them, I look nothing like any celebrity anyway so I dont get so much value out of scrutinizing (manipulated) pics of their bodies
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita but it's about the Image ID! Mila Kunis is for sure a theatrical romantic, I agree with you on that: In my perception it's obvious how, although she doesn't have much curves, she has rounded and delicate shapes, but Jada... She's so in the middle! Because sometimes she accentuates the waist it looks like she might be more yin than she is, but when she wears classic lines she looks even more put together, really!!! Oh, and by the way, I'm not trying to bother you about that, it's just an opinion in the end, but I really enjoyed the video as a whole!!!
@@leticiasantana4358 i totally understand, i just meant that to me, its clear that Jada is much smaller, daintier and narrower than the DC ladies, but I meant that if people disagree about it I just don't find it super helpful to focus too much on any one celebrity
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita yeah I agree with your assessment because of her extreme petite frame and she has those ornamental features her eyes kind of look like they are twinkling like earrings and she appears weightless so that's why I think TR. I think the lighter fabrics are more harmonious than the heavier fabrics for dramatic classic. To be honest I don't see her as necessarily hourglass because I think she gets her yang from her shape and facial bones and yin everywhere else (facial features and overall tiny frame)
I’m a TR for sure but I’m not super girly or feminine personality-wise, I love leggings and baggy sweatshirts and t-shirts and jeans so style-wise my Kibbe type is a curse. :(
My resistance to yin has brought me here, as someone that thought she was a SG. I've researched SN as well but the Rs, especially TRs make me uncomfortable.
Rihanna is definitely not TR. She was a teen when Kibbe typed her, and through a picture no less. She is SD. I also don’t think Hedy Lamar is TR, there’s a picture of her with Betty Grable (SN) and Judy Garland (SG), and she looks tall and massive next to them, far from petite, her bones are definitely sharp Yang, and she’s SD. Both ladies (Ri and Hedy) are atleast 5’8 and they look tall. While I find his system very helpful and interesting, I don’t trust Kibbe sometimes, it’s like he doesn’t do his research and just types celebs through a single picture, like when he typed Charlize Theron TR.
I think shes definitely at least soft gamine, but I think Kibbe typed her right. Look out her slim photos. Even when she did the short cut, it didn’t fit her like it would Halle Berry or Jada Pinkett Smith. Rihanna has a very soft face. and look at her older slimmer bikini photos: she was slim thick with a lot on the bottom
@@veronicahaney6005 no. It has nothing to do with weight, plus Kibbe typing is supposed to be for grown women atleast aged 25, that’s when they’re done developing, it’s not for teens, so looking at old pictures of Rihanna when she was a skinny teenager isn’t the way to go about it. She is a tall woman with a voluptuous figure, even from her prominent facial bone structure you can tell that she’s a taller woman, so either SD or FN, literally opposite of SG. It has nothing to do with having ‘cute’ or ‘soft’ facial features (or whatever it is), which any type can have. Miranda Kerr, for eg., is a flamboyant natural and she has a ‘soft’ ‘babyface’.
N.B. I am gonna use metric measurments, because that's the system in my country. About the height aspect , I am a TR . My SN friend is 160 cm and I am 167 cm . She looks taller than 160 cm I look 160 cm . Because my head is bigger than hers . SG , R and TR heads are bigger in proportion to their height than other types. SD heads are smaller in proportion to their height. I am almost as tall as a 176 cm SG man . But I look 14ish cm shorter than my FN female cousin who is 168 cm . My mom is a 155 cm SG , she looks 20 cm shorter than me . It is an apparent proportion thing . People think I am 160 cm , I am 167 cm . So it is more of *looking* shorter or taller , because of bone structure
i have to say, im very confused over this. i used to think im soft natural (due to my wide shoulders and ribcage), but natural clothing doesnt suit me very well, and i have more delicate feminine facial features, and small boobs, even thought my wide ribcages creates a bit of a hourglass illusion, since it makes my waist look smaller in comparsion. i have very small delicate hands and feets, but i also tend to easily build muscle and feel like im big boned, wide. selena gomez looks much more petite to me for example, and she been ruled a soft natural. but her face is completley different then mine. im petite and short, 5 3. romantic clothing suits me soo much better, oversized clothing seems to drown me, but too tight isnt good either. but i definitley dont have a curvy figure, or small delicate bones (except my face, feet and hands). im also pretty slim, and with more weight i look more like an hourglass because my hips get equally as wide as my shoulders are, but still, i dont get big boobs. so im pretty clueless. and im not gamine at all, or classic, or dramatic. i only seem to fit in the soft natural or theatrical romantic category. oh and i definitley have more sharpness then bluntness, and fleshy arms and legs, full lips, soft cheeks, but a v shaped face i guess, not wide at all. but i have slanted almond eyes, not big round eyes.. a bit like liv tyler or rachel mc adams i think. thank you for your video :)
Honestly to me it sounds like you should adjust your view of what Soft Natural clothes are, rather than your view of what your image ID is. If you are petite with some curve and some width in your shoulders and upper back, it sounds SN. TR will not have broad shoulders, so "big boned" excludes TR. It's possible that your view of "what TR clothes are" is perhaps closer to what "SN clothes" are! There is a lot of misinformation out there, particularly about SN.
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita thank you very much for your answer ! your right, i will look more into that...also, your videos are very informative and great, im looking forward for the next ones (and for a soft natural video :D) i hope you have a great day !
Hm... Well I agree she has some sharpness/muscularity in her shoulders, but I think that's the "yang" element. If you compare her to SN celebrities like Scarlett Johansson I think Jada has a more narrow/petite look, to me. But yeah, I think generally the contemporary TRs seem to confuse many people...
Style Thoughts by Rita i agree! TR is definitely the most mis-typed group, and I feel like a lot of the modern TR celebs are actually something else, Kibbe just hasn’t moved them yet.
@@vanillamochi304 yeah, like Rihanna? But idk to be honest i feel like I gain more by trying to understand what Kibbe sees in the celebrities rather than by imposing my own view. For example people are really obsessed with Amy Adams being a classic, while Kibbe says she is "textbook FN". In that case you learn more by trying to understand what he is seeing. Same with Mila Kunis, people freaked out when he said she was TR but he didn't see it as some mistake, and its helpful to understand what he is seeing in her. Buuuuuut overall the emphasis on celebrities is just not so helpful. They have surgery, Photoshop, stylists, abd they are all very, very thin, and there is only so much you can take away from looking at their pictures. It's good to understand the yin yang balance of each type but focusing on individual celebrities probably isn't so helpful for most people
I would live to See an update by you and other content creators on RUclips about the part where Selena Gomez is officially typed as TR, as well as Mila Kunis, and what that means for our understanding of the TR look and identification
When I did the Kibbe test I found I was a TR. Whenever I met people for first the time (or after a long while) they often tell me that I look shorter than what I actually am, as I am 5ft 7in. Its only when I stand up that they realise I'm a tall girl😂Yet, this video makes me question if I actually am a TR at my height. Any thoughts?
Hi! I think many (probably more than half) type themselves as TR when they first come to Kibbe and do the quiz, before they develop a clearer understanding of yin and yang and a clearer picture of their own body. To be blunt with you, no, at 5'7" you're not going to be a TR in David Kibbe's system, where TR as an Image ID refers to women who are very yin dominant. In Kibbe's system, height gives you an automatic yang, regardless of anything else, so it's just not possible for you to be a Yin Dominant type like a R, TR or SG. You are tall at 5'7". Most women fall between 4'11"-5'11". Given that clothes are made for this entire range of heights, you're not going to be suited for the smallest clothes even if you appear petite. I understand people are surprised you are tall. Maybe you are finding ways to shrink your self through your fashion, body language, and so on, and not presenting your physicality to the world. Maybe it's just a coincidence that some people think you're short. There are lots of potential explanations. Most of the time, women want to be TR because they want to "wear TR clothes" or just to express and be perceived as very sexy and feminine. You are in charge of your own style expression! As David has pointed out, dressing in clothes meant for a short and petite curvy body will not look harmonious on a larger woman. But maybe your own interpretation of what TR means to you is the thing you're searching for, not really a Kibbe Image ID but just a romantic, feminine clothing style. You could also try and forget TR for now and get to know your body a bit better and learn how to dress for the height (and whatever other attributes) you have. It's very possible for you to develop a sexy and feminine style which honors your body without sticking yourself into a category that doesn't suit you. I really recommend the Strictly Kibbe Facebook groups, to follow Kibbe's exercises and also to see lots of women experimenting with their style.
@@xo.okanddd9987 people (including myself) have asked David about Rihanna many times and he says she is irrelevant and he has no opinion about her Image ID and that people should stop using celebrity comparisons because they are not useful at all. David has had many many opportunities to say "well okay Rihanna isn't TR, she's something else" and to me the fact that he has chosen not to do that means he wouldn't see it as helpful.
There isn't more to it than the fact that TR must be yin dominant, and according to David, physically a woman who is 5'7" is not yin dominant. I see people doing all kinds of different takes on Kibbe's system, trying to for example show how "dainty" Rihanna is... And I think thats finest for people who want to develop their own understanding and not really use David's ideas. Personally I think David's ideas are the best ones and dressing for my height (which I didn't perceive as "so tall") has been extremely rewarding for me. So I encourage people to learn about what David says not because he's an arbitrary authority figure but because I have such trust in him.
I thought I was 5"7 and fit the bill for soft dramatic until I measured to double check and found out that I'm just under 5'5. 😂 It makes sense because I don't have a lot of width to me and didn't feel I necessarily have the "largeness" to pull off the recommended lines for soft dramatic. I was put off by some of my feautures because while a little sharper, they definitely aren't big. I think theatrical romantic fits the bill for me. Im curve dominant with a little bit of sharpness.
I dont actually fit perfectly into any kibbie i.d so i have just looked at them holistically and related most with TR. Im not a 100 percent sure but i dont think i have double curve but i have enough shape to my torso that it creates an S shape with my lower curve. I think because of this i would be told im SG but the lines dont work , they make me look like im wearing a costume with the layering, prints and contrast or they drown me with the boxy shapes. I think the most important thing is finding what works for you and makes you shine
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita looking at the accommodations and description TR is more relatable to me than SG. However, breaking down the i.ds to a yin and Yang balance, I'm not a TR because my fleshiness isn't quite fleshy enough to be a romantic (a C answer) , I have a narrow chest (an A answer) and my cheekbones are wide and prominent (a B answer) and there all Yang features and TR doesn't have any Yang , especially in the body. Although, my ribs are prominent and curved , I'm very narrow and delicate looking, my hips are very prominent and round , my shoulders are the delicate, slightly sloped and very narrow shoulders with a hint of sharpness of the TR i.d and I have a lot of softness and a strong romantic essence ,my gamine essence is very low . This is why I'm not a TR but a gamine and how the TR lines work best for me.x
I have fat arms mainly my tricep and fleshy thigh but tiny waist. My head is bigger compared to my body that make me look smallish. I look delicate though. I give that very feminine vibes. I wonder if im really TR
I hate to say this as it's a bit repetitive from the video, but have you considered SD? I would say Anita Ekberg (5'6") is a taller TR with a sharp nose
I think I’m part of the height exception, and maybe it just means being “petite” for your ethnicity. This all describes me PERFECTLY, except I’m 5’8”. I’ve got a lot of curves and softness, but over tiny, sharp bones and my hands and feet are disproportionately small. I figure I’m tall to most people, but “petite” compared to my Scandinavian/Dutch relatives. I’m the shrimp of the family 😂.
TR must be the group with the most mistyped people, because especially the modern examples look to be different types if we're gonna be strict about Kibbe's description. Out of curiosity, do you follow the RUclipsr Loepsie? If so, what would you type her as? Her face seem VERY "romantic" (soft, round, small), but her body is more tall and elongated.
Fanny's LoA she honestly looks like flamboyant gamine to me maybe? I just read the description and I feel she may fit that. She also has that Audrey Hepburn vibe. Her face has some round shapes but her body seems to have more straight lines than curved 🧐
T M H I had always seen Mika Kunis as either a type of gamine or soft natural. I think I’ve heard how she was moved to another category besides theatrical romantic but I can’t recall
@@jillianrhodes3693 Mila Kunis is a TR according to David Kibbe, she has not been moved anywhere despite people discussing/asking David about her so i dont think its some mistake or accident
When I look at my body is pure romantic. Even my shoulders. But my face is rectangle. It is soft and I have flesh on my face which makes my jaw more rounded. My eyes are round, my nose is rounded, my lips are rounded. The only sharpness that I have is in my face shape. Also my feet and hands are very narrow. Esp my feet.
Pls read the comments here or watch my video on kibbe and height if confused! A slightly tall TR is often an SD but if you wanna just dress femme fatale chic nobody will stop you 💗
How is Rihana theatrical romantic if she is not petite. She is 5.8? I’m confused now. I though I was theatrical romantic but according to this description I can’t because I’m 5.6
Charlotte Elizabeth yeah while height does play an important factor, it’s also important to see how tall they look. e.g: there are 2 people who are 5’5 but one looks more elongated.
Can you be a theatrical romantic with big hips? In the photos with the four women in black bikinis they all looked straight up and down to me, no hourglass at all.
I feel like soft natural and theatrical romantics are the same... Ive been dressing like a SN ever since i typed myself but never looked good. It turns out that i look stunning in TR lines and essence...yet i have a longer vertical line and i look slightly athletic. Overall i feel like kibbe himself is confused about his own method
Sooo different but it can get pretty confusing and hard to determine, but they are really different. Naturals are supposed to be tall or average in height with very few exceptions, they are blunt and broad and have some width to them whereas TR is about the delicate sharpness, not bluntness, and the small narrowness, not width. Also width isn't bad or synonymous with fat, Margot Robbie is one example of the great figure but definitely width in her frame. As to how they carry weight they are more likely to be on the leaner more muscular side, whereas TR are soft and fleshy.
I'm wondering I thought I was TR coz most of my answers were D or E and I have a hour glass figure ppl say this bcoz of my very defined waist but I'm not so sure now lol I think I may be a soft dramatic bcoz although I fit it I'm not exactly in the right height range, I'm 5'6 then again it's abt how tall u look, which that gets me all the time bcoz a lot of angels I look short and others I look tall, I am also a dancer so I film myself a lot so I literally cannot tell, although one of my friends comments on how short I look idk if it's reliable tho haha anyway height comments are quite repetitive
I wouldn't use the quiz at all. David says above a certain height it's not about how tall you look but how tall you are. At 5'6" with a defined waist there are several image IDs that could work for you. It can be hard to see what your image ID is because there's so much internet noise about what the IDs are. It's all about figuring out what your yin and yang balance is and then learning to translate that to clothes.
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita ohhhh okay I understand, I don't know much abt the body types and I only discovered it through the quiz but I now I know that it may not be the best to use the quiz but ur saying focus more on the yin and yang u have then other things? Also yes a lot of Internet noise haha
@@jaymeerenee2357 yes exactly, I think the quit is honestly confusing. There are some exercises in the Strictly Kibbe group but they require quite a lot of effort. I got large eyes, full bow lips n button nose, small conic hands n small but but wide feet, 5.0 tall, people see me as mysterious with naturally big wavy eyes, fleshy body n I get rounder when I gain weight not on my limbs n arms. I can't be a soft gamine coz my lips are full but I have somewhat pointy check like oblong face but soft cheeks. My personality is quite strong n I move fast. I'm told as feminine but there's just an element of masculinity in my personality. I duno, I can't be a gamine, I'm leaning more like somewhat Sally Hyland kinda vibe. Haha this Kibbie isn't easy but we are humans, we got more layers in our personalities.
Rihanna is a TR and she's 5'9", Beyoncé is a romantic but she's 5'8" so I guess actual hight doesn't matter. As kibbe said what matters is how you "appear" some women who are actually tall look short because their vertical line doesn't pop out, likewise some women who are short(including myself) can appear tall because their vertical line pops out, for eg. Megan fox is 5'4" but she looks tall in photos
@@aayushivasnik I think you're right about vertical line being more important. Rihanna looks around 5'6 , I mean not more than 5'7 although she's 5'9.. And beyonce too sometimes looks about 5'5 , at the most 5'6, unless she's wearing wide paded shoulder outfits
According to David Kibbe you cannot be TR at 177 cm, because you have too much yang by virtue of your height. But I am not here to tell you how to live your life lol, just trying to provide information 🌼
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita but i can . Btw, in my country people are taller. I know that I can't be dramatic or natural because of my bone structure... And i do not look good with other body type clothes. (sorry for bad english)
@@miakatarina3377 I feel there is enough online teaching/scolding about Kibbe on this subject so I don't want to get into it more. It doesn't matter, in Kibbe's, perspective how tall people in your country are, because it's not whether you are relatively tall or short but just literally how long your bones are. He believes that women with longer bones look best when they dress for that length (which doesn't mean wearing big or long clothes). I have also made a video about this called "height and Kibbe". Probably you are not TR and discovering a different image ID could be fun and transformative for you. BUT You are you and your style journey is your own! and if right now, TR silhouettes make you feel best, then I would call it a success! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm 1.58 cm and TR. I am planning on getting limb lengthening operation. I want at least to be 1.65 or 1.68 would be perfect. If my height changes. Will my Kibbe body type also change? Will I become a SD?

@@Amyhb69 wrists and ankles and waist do not really affect whether our not someone could be SN, the thing that defines SN is that you have some blunt yang (what many see as softy/roundly wide, kind of a gently strong frame) and you have a yin undercurrent. So having rounded facial features is yin, defined waist is yin etc and these are all possible expressions of your yin undercurrent 5'7" with delicate and sharp looking bone structure and a defined waist could also be SD. I think many women think SD clothes are somehow overwhelming or intimidating but they don't need to be. I have said this many times but just to say it again, if you prefer to see yourself as a Kibbe romantic or TR despite being officially too tall, nobody is stopping you at all, and you should pursue what feels right to your heart
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita Thank you very much. I don't really know how to define myself but any body type doesn't feel right. I feel not skinny enough to have some dramatic. And also I think the Kibbe subreddit can be fun to ask for help with your "type" even though it might not be accurate
She is a DK confirmed TR. I have no idea who says she is a SN and she has the yin with a touch of yang which describes a TR, I do not see he having blunt yang width.
My body look a looooot with young Kim Kardashian (without surgery), but a taller version (I'm 5'7). I think I'm theatrical but I have wide bones and large hands and feet...I don't know anymore
I am a theatrical romantic for sure, but I am nearly 6'' tall. And I think it's not just about being "petite" but the overall appearance. It's wether the person looks more "massive", like, having the substance that's not overall ethereal. Because a soft Dramatic would have this strong essence and softness around and a theatrical Romantic, even with a long vertical line will have a more volatile appearance with an aura of strongness. Does this make sense to anyone else? :D
I think being a woman sharpness perhaps can easily be read as small delicate sharpness, but a huge point of TR is that they are small. So if you're that tall, then it's not small sharpness it's just sharpness. I think when learning the body type descriptions people picture extremes, and even in photo examples sometimes they are using extreme examples, it makes it easier for us to learn to identify the traits, but for so many women it's probably a bit harder to pin point those traits on themselves. You could have sharpness that makes you a dramatic or soft dramatic, or perhaps you have bluntness of a natural but it doesn't look that broad or muscular to you so you're interpreting it as sharpness. Obviously I don't know so these are just guesses and examples really, but TR is the shortest type so that would be the first one for you to rule out
John 9:32-37 ...Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind. If this man were not from God, He could do nothing!" They answered him, "You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?" And they cast him out. Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" He answered, "And who is He, sir, that I may believe in Him?" Jesus said to him, "You have seen Him, and it is He who is speaking to you."
MANY OF us have difficulty deciding whether we are TR or Romantic. I definitely have a TR face...the WASP blonde type, not the darker ethnic ones you show with wider noses larger lips etc. The very thin ones with no breasts or hips do not look TR to me at all...you call them contemporary but with tiny secondary sexual characteristics and undefined waists they do not seem at all to fit the idea of TR or Romantic bodies. When I put on 7 to10lbs my TR body seems to turn into.a Romantic ..it seems to me. So my wardrobe reflects that. My smaller size clothes are more TR and one size up I wear mostly Romantic styles. There is no real hourglass on the four women you label as TR or R....
All celebrities in this video are verified by David Kibbe! so it's likely that you are not fully seeing his vision for R/TR if you don't think these women belong to that kibbe type -- but also I know he doesn't claim Rihanna is TR anymore so who knows really!
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita Thank you for your answer and your kind words :)
I was confused so long bc everyone talks about this big full hourglass womanly shape and I’m just a much lesser version of that 😅😂
I think TR's have alot more in common with Soft Gamine than Soft Dramatic.
Yeah, they are very similar, I discuss this in the SG video! I didn't mean that TR and SD are the most similar, but just addressing the "tall TR" idea.
That's my problem I don't know if I'm theatrical romantic, soft classic or maybe soft gamine

@@solstice1681 Yes! It's great that height is a guide for this system
Wow found another reason for being a TR . Thanks even i have a big face comparing to my body and im a petite
I am singeling in on being TR and I have the exact same experience as you!
Yes exactly.
I'm similar, but fat lol 😅
I struggle a bit picturing mila K. As TR.
@Benziar Fadel Taylor Swift is a Dramatic.
Yup, she seems more like a dramatic or a natural to me.
@Benziar Fadel Yeah TS is not a gamine.
Mila Kunis seems to be a soft gamine, Taylor Swift a classical type

the comparisons between Rs and TRs were very helpful, I thought it was obvious how they were different. as a taller woman I am now wanting to learn more about SDs too!
Thank you! I am so glad you found it useful 💜 SD is definitely coming up!
I think you hit it on the head with the difference really being in their attitude, their personalities. Very similar body types but the WAY she carries herself, what she feels comfortable and powerful in.
I like that you point out inconsistencies in Kibbe’s system because so many Kibbe bloggers will try to justify the flaws instead.
It might be helpful to note that a TR’s yang can be expressed in a number of ways. For me, I have broader shoulders and quite willowy arms.
I found two TR celebrities: Lacey Chabert (who played Gretchen in mean girls) and Camila Cabello (who I have a video about). Just in case someone is looking for some TR tips.
Also Angela Kinsey from the Office is a TR I think
Can you please analyse and let me know what kibbe types Leighton Meester and Jaclyn Smith (Charlie's Angels) are?
I have similar body type as them. They are sometimes typed as TR but also Soft classic and for jaclyn smith some even show her in Soft dramatic.. Which is very confusing.
I'm 5'6 but people have told me I look smaller, around 5'4 and I feel that's kind of the case with these two ladies, they both look shorter than their real height, Jaclyn Smith is 5'7 and Leighton is 5'5
I love that you pointed that out!!! I'm so tempted to be annoying and ask what the other office ladies are.
OHMYGOD SAME! I'm always very confident ESPECIALLY if I'm nervous
Great voice too 😀
Omggggggg same af, I got mostly D and Cs but two other Tests and D's dominated so I decided it's TR
But same body as you describe yours

Such a great video! You explain everything so well. I think I am theatrical romantic and am doing research on it and found your video. 💞

My resistance to yin has brought me here, as someone that thought she was a SG. I've researched SN as well but the Rs, especially TRs make me uncomfortable.
Kibbe has talked about this in his book

@@silverroxen2954 where do you read it for free if you dont mind me asking?
Oh no why did I have to watch this video? Now I think I’m TR
I felt this
Rihanna is definitely not TR.
Because my head is bigger than hers
Also, what we consider "delicate facial features" is something seen on women of every image ID! So I wouldn't focus too much on that
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita thank you very much for your answer ! your right, i will look more into that...also, your videos are very informative and great, im looking forward for the next ones (and for a soft natural video :D) i hope you have a great day !
Great video! But I don’t understand how Jada Pinkett is a TR tbh...she has quite a bit of width to her shoulders
It's good to understand the yin yang balance of each type but focusing on individual celebrities probably isn't so helpful for most people
Actually jada looks like a gamine or soft gamine to me because although she appears small she looks really dry und not "lush" enough to je TR
Im pretty sure the wide shoulders represent the yang energy of the skeletal bone structure of a TR

Style Thoughts by Rita I’m not trying to say ur wrong but rihanna is 5’7 as well would that make her not a tr like ur telling this girl??
Style Thoughts by Rita correction she’s actually 5’8
From my shape I feel like I'm a tehaqtrical romantic but I'm 5'6 (1.69cm)??
Agree with that. Tbh I think most people typed as TR by Kibbe would not be conventionally described as curvy
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita looking at the accommodations and description TR is more relatable to me than SG. How is Rihana theatrical romantic if she is not petite. She is 5.8? I’m confused now. I though I was theatrical romantic but according to this description I can’t because I’m 5.6
I think it matters more how tall you look, not your actual height (?) also because it’s hard to fit 100% into a category
Charlotte Elizabeth yeah while height does play an important factor, it’s also important to see how tall they look. e.g: there are 2 people who are 5’5 but one looks more elongated.
David Kibbe believes celebs lie about their height. If he met Rihanna and she is indeed taller than 5'5, he would reclass her
I'm a romantic type but I don't know which one . I think I might be theatrical romantic
Great explanation, Thank you :)
The other option is just to learn about the image IDs and see if anyone resonates with you. At 5'6 with a curvy waist there are many possible options :)
Can someone help me find my type. I am pretty sure that I am TR but I am 5”9
Ahhh it’s so confusing! But thank you.
@@aayushivasnik Even though she was typed as a TR, a lot of people think she is SD (myself included)
@@aayushivasnik Rihanna is not verified anymore. She's removed from the list. So no, you cannot be TR at that height.
0:58 🍾 was this a sound of wine bottle cork popping out? 😀
im tr and i am 177cm , my mother is soft dramatic, she is 178.
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita iznimke potvrđuju pravila
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita can you help me find my real kibbe body type? Only if you want and if you have time.
1-b 2-b 3-c 4-c 5-e 6-d 7-e 8-d 9-e 10-c 11-b 12-d 13-d 14-d 15-b these are my answers an I a TR?
Possibly soft natural. TR would have an A or two and no B's.
I'm 1.58 cm and TR. I am planning on getting limb lengthening operation.
I want at least to be 1.65 or 1.68 would be perfect.
If my height changes. Will my Kibbe body type also change?
Will I become a SD?
9:19 none of them are hourglass, they all have a square body type, woman.
The perfect today’s illustration of the theatrical romantic is Dita von Teese. Why not showing some pictures of her?
But... I am only D and fewer E, and I am 5'7.. what can I be then ?
If you're rounded and softly wide with a touch of yang and 5'7", I would think about SN!
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita I am 140 lbs and my waist is quite small in comparison to my hips that are the more rounded part of my body. My face have only E features. My wrists and ankles are really small. Is that okay with SN ?
@@Amyhb69 wrists and ankles and waist do not really affect whether our not someone could be SN, the thing that defines SN is that you have some blunt yang (what many see as softy/roundly wide, kind of a gently strong frame) and you have a yin undercurrent. So having rounded facial features is yin, defined waist is yin etc and these are all possible expressions of your yin undercurrent
5'7" with delicate and sharp looking bone structure and a defined waist could also be SD.
For a lot of questions I had to show my picture because I couldn't pick an answer.
My point is that I don't prefer being called a romantic or a natural or whatever but nothing feels right and I want to find something accurate so I can find what to wear. For now I tried a lot of things but what works was mostly the soft gamine wardrobe. Maybe because I am quite young and it is really mixed
@@Amyhb69 David really doesn't recommend women who are young to go by his system but just to have fun. I say that you should see if you can use any of his principles in a way that feels good, but not worry too much ❤️
I think his ideas about colors and about how to put together outfits are interesting regardless of image id. And also I think the Kibbe subreddit can be fun to ask for help with your "type" even though it might not be accurate
Jada Pinkett is muscular & straight like Teyana Taylor. I am trying to see how she is T.R?
Isn't Mila Kunis soft natural though?
She is a DK confirmed TR. I have no idea who says she is a SN and she has the yin with a touch of yang which describes a TR, I do not see he having blunt yang width.
Rihanna is not on Kibbe’s verified list
She was removed since this video was made 💜
My body look a looooot with young Kim Kardashian (without surgery), but a taller version (I'm 5'7). I think I'm theatrical but I have wide bones and large hands and feet...I don't know anymore
I'm pretty sure Kim is SN so maybe worth checking that out :) anyway she is way too yang for TR
theatrical romantics have the narrowest bones of all the body types. At 5'7 with wide bones you cannot be TR
@@a_little_green it's actually dramatic but becuz tr are short, that's why. If you compare tr and d with same height, it would be d who is narrower.
Obviously I don't know so these are just guesses and examples really, but TR is the shortest type so that would be the first one for you to rule out
John 9:32-37
...Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind.
What?
Rihanna is not TR she is to tall. Just saying
Yes! I have a video about her 🙂
MANY OF us have difficulty deciding whether we are TR or Romantic.
