I have owned my Juki for 5 years and could never get the threader to work and now watching and realizing the needle up/down must happen first it threads every time!!! Thank you for all the videos they are so helpful.
This is the BEST video for everything you want to know about your Juki. Normally I have to refer to 5 different ones to get the same info. This is an all in one video. Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for sharing!! I love this Juki 18TLQVP. First time Juki owner. I should have purchase this machine before making a mistake purchasing Brother Luminaire Xp2. My 4th sewing machine. A Bernina, Husqvarna Viking, Brother Luminaire Xp2, now a Juki Haruka owner.
GREAT instructional video!!!! Recently, I purchased the 18 QVP, and my stitch was “one-continuous length.” Your video helps me tremendously!!!! Thank you!!!
GREAT video! I've had my TL-18 for 2 years and have not been doing the proper threading to wind the bobbin! I wasn't using that little hole before wrapping it around the tensioner! Also SO appreciated the training on the top and bottom tension. Thank you!
The hole is supposed to be for slippery thread not necessarily for cotton , only if you are having issues. (I have watched a boatload of videos from different people plus I looked at the manual)
I tried to use the hole but I could not get the thread tension right using it on mine-thread kept slipping out of the tension disks despite my best efforts to “floss it in there,” and I ended up with a wonky bobbin wind (with Glide thread). After trying twice, I followed the manual, then it worked fine.
I am a Juki junkie! Love my Juki! My tension hasn’t been quite right for awhile, now I realize that I haven’t checked the bobbin tension for months… duh…
Oh don't be intimidated!! Once you do it a few times you'll have it down forever. We offer tons of support on our RUclips and Facebook. We also ship them ready to go so you can visually see how to thread it :)
Outstanding video! Had no idea about the bobbin tension or the threading for winding. Wouldn't it be nice if that info was, well, included in the manual??? Thank goodness for Juki Junkies!
Forgot to thank you for the usefull video. Just got my TL-18 QVP and am pretty excited. Can't wait to get comfortable with it and start quilting. I'll have to figure out the pressure foot pressure first (with the walking foot). Any advice would be appreciated 😊.
Great video, thanks! One question. I've heard that if you adjust that first tension knob (at the top) that it will adjust the length of the bobbin thread when it's cut. Is this correct? I couldn't find that information in my manual for my 2010Q.
Tisk tisk, I did read the manual not all of it yet but you are supposed to put 5-7 drops of oil if the machine has been sitting around for a while and you’re supposed to be doing that before you do any sewing. That could potentially cause a problem because people are going to assume that you can just put one drop in even though they should be reading their manual anyway 😁😁
I have the 2010 - it was an impulse buy and part of my retail therapy after I lost my husband 4 years ago. Unfortunately it hasn't seen much action and mostly another member of my stable - haha! But at least I know the correct way to bobbin, thread and maintain! If the 10 & 18 are the same then why are there two concurrently being manufactured and sold?
On threading to wind bobbin. Thats really interesting. I looked in my TL18 manual and it says/shows nothing about feeding thru the hole and it says/shows to bring the thread clockwise around the tensioner.
Check out page 13 it tells you that if you’re having trouble keeping the thread in the bobbin tension area to thread through the hole Also on another video it said if your thread is slippery kind of like the glide thread that would be another reason
Thanks so much for this tutorial! My tension was completely off and the manual not detailed enough. You‘ve really provided all important information I‘ve needed. I only have one more question about something I‘ve seen in a video directly from Juki company: is it true that for the right bobbin tensión it should always be checked and adjusted first with a 50 weight thread before using a different weight?
@@JukiJunkiesI have no idea about this sewing machine, my country Bangladesh this type of sewing machine is not available here. Most people in Bangladesh sew by hand with needle thread. Great video, I have the TL-18 and I can’t get the tension set properly. My bobbin thread is super loose, I’ve adjusted the bobbin tension and nothing is happening. What would you recommend for me to do? Thank you!!!
😍😍😍 I am determined to have a Juki by next year. Could embroidery thread work on this machine since it is 40wt? Also do you recommend this machine to sew bags since the arm space is more narrow compared to the 2010 Juki?
The 2010 and the TL18 are so same space. Nothing different. Here's our Glide 40w thread. It works beautiful with these models. jukijunkies.com/product-category/threads/glide-thread/glide-40w-thread/
Hi. Please help me understand why you demonstrated on 4 layers of cotton verses 2 layers. I will most likely be using only 2 layers of cotton which I guess would require different tension? Thank you
Make sure you're using it with fluent motion and not going super slow. Its all one motion. If that doesn't work you may need a new needle threader or make sure to check your needle position.
I am waiting on the UPS truck today so excited
This video sold me . I purchased my TL machine from Juki Junkies. Great machine.

Your video helped me with my new machine.
Glad I could help
Excellent video! I’ve had my 2010 for a year and I still learned a few important things. Thanks so much.

Thank you so much for this helpful video. I was having tension issues but all corrected with your easy to follow instructions.

I got my first Juki TL18, and your video saved me a lot of time. It explained so well and easy follow. I liked and subscribed. Thank you!

Thanks for the sub!

You’re a blessing thank you

It was awesome I watch several videos and it was not very informative, like how to tension the bobbing ❤️. Thank u

Should use a bright color thread when showing he threading portion as the silver just blends in with the stainless steel

Yes it is in the manual it’s page 20 for the TL 18

I've been looking at all of them, thank you. I also just ordered the oiling "pen", 6 oz. bottle of oil and the little cleaning swabs.
Great video, thanks! One question. I've heard that if you adjust that first tension knob (at the top) that it will adjust the length of the bobbin thread when it's cut. Is this correct? I couldn't find that information in my manual for my 2010Q.

5-7 drops is usually excessive however its dependent on your machines current condition. Are your sure it says 5-7 drops per hole?
@@JukiJunkies yep! Page 30 😊😊👍🏻
When adjusting the upper tension do you do it with the foot up or down?
I’d like to know too @Juki Junkies

Must the thread unwind from the spool in a particular direction?
I prefer cotton thread vs polyester for piecing. Does the TL-18 do well with cotton threads? Your videos always recommend glide polyester threads.
Yes they do :) we have cotton thread as well. jukijunkies.com/product-category/cairo-quilt-thread/cairo-quilt-620m/
Excellent video! Thank you! Is the presser foot supposed to be up when threading?
Yes, the presser foot should be up, so that the tension discs are open, which allows you to thread properly.
Thank you for the educational video!
I thought so too.

The TL-18 has the micro- Lifter feature and more accessories.
According to the instruction manual, the presser foot should be up when threading and down when using the automatic threader.
Both work it’s up to preference

Hi. Please help me understand why you demonstrated on 4 layers of cotton verses 2 layers. I will most likely be using only 2 layers of cotton which I guess would require different tension? Thank you
This works with 2 layers as well. We did four layers just a because its a happy medium for most sewers.
My needle threader doesn't go up and down smooth like this one always gets jammed what can I do?
Make sure you're using it with fluent motion and not going super slow. Its all one motion. If that doesn't work you may need a new needle threader or make sure to check your needle position.
