Hello!! Just came across your videos and I love the way you present your material content and your demonstrations. So many people go so fast , or they talk to you as if you know certain things . I am a beginner basically. I started a while back, then with life and moving am now returning back to my quilting and was getting reacquainted with everything. Thanks so much! I look forward to watching all your videos! 😊 …Your newest quilts friend, Vicki, from North Carolina, USA

I have this awesome machine and I used to use the bobbin winder just as you are, fiddling trying to get that pin in the right spot, until I saw another youtuber simply set the bobbin down on the spool and lightly spin it til it sat into the pin! No more fiddling.

Hi Stacey, I had a little drapery company and had all power sewing machines. My biggest regret is selling my power serger and my power straight needle. I’m over it with these little wimpy slow machines. I’m thinking about getting a Juki industrial. I really miss the knee lift And I really miss how fast these power machines can go. Thanks again again. I really enjoy all your videos.

When I bought my Juki at the Houston Quilt Festival a few years ago, I admit, I'd never heard of the brand. I bought the TL-18QVP and I'm still impressed with the power this baby has! I was told by several people at the show and since, that the TL model is a workhorse. I've started making bags and pouches and I just love it. I still use my electronic machine for quilt piecing, but the TL is my go-to for the bulkier projects. There is a RUclips channel called Juki Junkies and they have a lot of good information. Thank you for your video, it was very helpful 😊

Wonderful, descriptive video Stacey! I love my TL2010, and have had it for about a year and a half now. I love it's speed, and that it is a straight stitch machine. Did I understand you correctly about oiling every 3 to 4 months? Interesting.......I oil everything every bobbin change.....and I sew A LOT! LOL

I oil my machine every bobbin change too. I have the TL18. I have also never been able to get my bobbin to click-it is seated and works fine, but I’ve never been able to get a click out of it. Have yet to figure out why.

    • @staceyleecreative

Yes the information was giving to me from Juki Junkies. You oil the bobbin are every change. You can over oil them, in which case if you opened it up you may have a big pool of oil inside.

I have been following you for a while now, love your videos have made quite a few things from your videos. I am wanting to upgrade sometime soon in the next 6 mo to year. I see other you tubers some have Juki some have Bernina. I found this video very helpful in pointing the features out. I have had 2 Singer Sewing machines and want something a little more heavy duty. I have made a few quilts and have dabbled in making bags but my little Singer just doesn't seem to keep up with more than 2 layers of fabric. One of my biggest problems also with my Singer machines is the space between the bobbin and the needle is very small and hard to thread the needle sometimes so more space would be a perk.

The beauty of a Juki TL is that it is semi industrial, so it can easily sew through many layers.

Not being very familiar with the Juki models, I was wondering if it does any stretch or zig-zag stitches. All the features you have mentioned are great (and especially that knee lift!), but I would need a machine that does a bit more than straight stitching. Thank you for your well presented video.

No I am sorry the Juki TL sewing machines only do a straight stitch. It's a semi industrial sewing machine 😊

Thank you for such an informative video! I've had my TL-2010Q for about 10 years, but didn't know about oiling the bobbin area.! I was wondering if you could share where you got your left compensating foot and what brand it is. The Juki brand is super pricy, but others for high shank machines are not. Many thanks for your help and for creating such a great video!!

Excellent video. Thank you. One thing however that really annoyed me. I was cleaning my Juki one day, and the foot plate fell on the floor. The plate that bends. Anyway the tiny screws (can't remember if it was one or two) that hold it together fell off and the plate came apart. I have never seen a screw so small. Thank goodness Juki junkies had a how to video on changing your foot plate or I never would've been able to put it back together. You would think on such a expensive machine they could've at least used a larger screw so you could actually see it. So just be careful with that plate when you're cleaning your machine!

When it's working correctly, the needle threader is great. It is fairly delicate, though, so if it stops working well for you, you might need to replace it. Fortunately, it's an inexpensive part. Order yourself a new little piece and get that needle threader working again!

Oiling the Juki depends on how much you use it. Not how many months go by. And always oil before you start a project. If you oil and then don’t use the machine the oil doesn’t get to where it needs to go.

The downsides are said in the video. But the only real downside is that it is only a straight stitch, I didn't mention that, because the idea was to talk about things no one days. But that's the biggie. You really need a second machine for zig zag, button holes, etc.

I have to comment on the knee lifter. While it is a selling point, if you sit right in front of your needle, the knee lifter sits too far to the left to use it UNLESS you are quite a small person, or unless you sit far back from the machine. I find it worthless, which is too bad bc I love my Juki otherwise.
