In this video I share my review of the JUKI TL-2010Q sewing machine!
This is my new favorite sewing machine and I use it every day! It is a workhorse! It stitches up to 1,5000 stitches per minute compared to most home sewing machines that can only go up to about 800-850 stitches per minute. In my opinion this is the perfect sewing machine for a quilter who wants to be able to make their own quilts quickly, precisely AND be able to quilt them themselves as well.
This machine is GREAT for free motion quilting and the tension was perfect for me right out of the box!

Wow. I have no interest in sewing whatsoever, but i have to say this has been some of the most comprehensive uninterupted review i have ever seen. If juki is ever looking for a spokesperson to sell their products to the the masses, i think they found their woman.
Hi, it’s 2024. Just got my juki 2010. No one talks about the other feet that can be used. I’ve purchased a few of them, but found them in limited supply. I’d call this a semi heavy duty/industrial machine. Simple, no fuss, workhorse; love it.
Hi Vanessa! What a great video!! I just purchased this Juki from Sew Mini Things yesterday (June 2024) and I'm over the moon happy!
You’ll love it!
I just purchased this machine. I was really impressed by your demonstration and at the speed of the machine. I have a plethora of machines from antique to top of the line embroidery but kept looking at this one. You sold me lady. You my dear are an enabler and I'm really excited about it. So from one sewer to another, stitch on. Thank you.
I reread the manual several times trying to learn how to use the needle threader. Your video finally explained it to me. Thanks so much for your precise and accurate video.
Oh Vanessa! Finally an excellent video for auto threading . I have had my Juki for over a year and was unable to understand the how to. There is no other machine for me. You just can’t go wrong with this machine. You really did a great job on explaining. Definitely a workhorse. I love my Juki. I also have nothing I would change on it either. Can’ say that about any other
I received this fabulous machine this morning for Christmas, best gift ever from my husband. I didn’t want to touch my machine without looking at your video. It’s very thorough and comprehensive. Thanks for all your tips.
I have owned this Juki model for close to a year now. I Love, Love, Love it!!! I do all my free motion quilting on it. I picked this machine because it has a lot more neck space than other home sewing machines. I have quilted up to a queen size quilt on this baby.
+Chara Branam Totally agree! I finished my first free motion design on a lap quilt on this machine and it was shear delight!
wow that was the one question in my head. great to hear!
Just got my new Juki today from Sew-Miny Things today. Phillip was very helpful and thanks to Vanessa for the review. Ladies don't forget to tell that you watched this video so you can get your 10% off! Thanks again Vanessa!
I just want to say thank you for all your tutorials, you have a wonderful personality, you explain things so well, that this gal was able to learn how to sew and so many other things that I wouldn’t have even tried had I not seen your videos. You are appreciated!
Thank you! it's 2020 and this video is still relevant! :) This video has helped me finalize my decision to get the machine. Fingers crossed.
how are you liking it?? I just got one too :)
@@KK-pf1ye love love it! Totally worth the money.
OMG it's 12/19/20 and I assumed it was a new video! HA! I'm getting one!
@@carolyn_r I have been looking for a month now to find the right one. It seems the durability on this thing is unbeatable and it is perfect for free motion as well!!!
I just bought one this summer for my birthday. I just adore it. So fast, so powerful. Great for quilting and if you do heavy totes and purses, it sews through many layers like butter!!
I got it for Christmas from my eldest daughter. I have it all set up and ready to try it out. I make handbags, so I needed a work horse. Thanks for the video!!
I noticed that you sew handbags. Is it doing a great job on the handbags?
Girl they need to hire you to sell their machines. you have managed to complete a very comprehensive demo on this machine. I just watched an Australian demo and thought it wasen;t bad but she didn't cover how thick of fabrics you could put out on this machine . it looks like you could quilt without a quilting foot. thanks so much for this demo. I learned more watching you then I did on any of the others. I have a pfaff which I love but would like a larger throat space for quilting and this machine is fast which I love also.
Just got mine recently. I have done one project so far. Getting used to her and this helps me and gets me into the habit of oiling her correctly and regularly. Hope to spend many years at my Juki.
I received the same Juki2010 this morning for Christmas. What a wonderful surprise from my husband. I didn’t want to touch it without looking at y
I just bought this, because I am wanting to teach myself how to sew, and I didn't want computerized stitches, I just want to do straight seams. I am so grateful my seamstress friend told me about this brand, and I really enjoyed watching your video. I'm excited for my machine to come!
Hi, Vanessa, I bought my Juki TL-2010Q in 2014 and it's the best machine I've ever had. I have made so many quilts, tablerunners, tote bags, rag dolls, etc. on this machine. I use it every day and it is, like you say, a workhorse!
I am buying one of these because of your demo😄❤
Hope you love it as much as I love mine!
I love this lady with this Juki ❤❤❤
Thank you Soooooooo much for your review. I bought this machine because all I do is stitch my piecing and quilt with a straight stitch or FMQ. I have a Babylock with fancy stitches, I rarely use for quilting, and a Brother serger I use for making apparel, but this JUKI 2010Q is thee best machine for piecing and quilting. I make large quilts and my new Juki has made everything so much easier. It is a workhorse!! Thank you! I bought my Juki just based just on your review and I am one happy quilter now. Thanks again!!
After I saw your review I have never regretted buying one.
This is my dream machine! I almost have enough saved for it! Your review was awesome!
Me too!
Just got my Juki, 5 years after you did. Loved your video, felt your enthusiasm and started smiling at you as you've gone through the denim layers :) Thank you for your review! Cant wait to start using my machine... Got it this morning, trying to learn some before I get into it, just because I know once I start I wont stop SZ
Oh Wow, a built-in needle threader🤭 what a game-changer!! I want it!💜
Very much clueless about any sewing machine but have always been interested in have one of a semi-pro nature. I didn't really understand or grasp how great this Juki is but Vanessa TheCraftyGemini has me convinced this is THE one to have! Enjoyed the enthusiastic video presentation!
I just bought one and can't wait to use it!!!
I watched the videos and loved them! It appears that you had a fantastic experience. Sewing machine so that you can begin crafting your own hand-made items. I made a tote using this great product and it turned out fantastic! I made it for my dog groomer. Thank you once again for a great, instructional video. Thanks
I realize this is old, but, I have had my eye on this machine since your review. I just received this machine , which I bought for myself for Christmas, today. OH MY GOSH!!! I have been piecing on a 25+ yr old singer and . . . wow. I LOVE this Juki. It is soooo fast, and it just glides through even the most bunched up of fabric (I am making crazy quilt squares). Thank you so much for this review! I look forward to finally free motion quilting. :)
thank you sooooo much for your commments....I too am looking at this machine, have been since she first reveiwed........now after I got my hip replaced I am ready to go.........so happy you like it as well....
You will love it. It is a work horse. It is SO fast! The only "problems" that I have are the holes in the bed to allow access to the bobbin case, they were catching seams. Which I cured by placing an old supreme slider over them. The foot pedal, for me, required a bit of re-training; when you press your heel down (or rest it), it cuts the thread. I'd say a few days of accidentally cutting your thread with the accompanying curse words, is the length of time necessary to train.I have now used it for free motion quilting and it is AWESOME. Can't say so for my FMQ, but it has improved since I first began. Sew fun!
Thank you SO MUCH for the info!
I'd like to purchase the even feed foot with quilt guide. Who carries it?
would you recommend it for sewing clothes?
Best review of a machine ever. No extraneous talk. Only get down to the machine specifics. Bravo. I’d buy a machine from you. Hope Juki uses you as their ambassador
I LOVE my Juki! Took me a few years of research, test drove a bunch of different machines at a quilt show in Lancaster and finally made my decision. First heard of the Juki by reading a blog "Sewing Machine Adultery".
Wow!!! Excellent video, awesome JUKI TL- 2010Q Sewing Machine, now I'm thinking of getting one. Thanks :)
I've had this machine for about 6 months now and it really is a work horse! It's semi-industrial and is wonderful. I ordered mine through Amazon for $999.00.
Great review. The speed on that thing -- wow.
I recently moved from Palm Coast to Eustis and I’m about 15 minutes from Mt. Dora. Wish I had known there was a sewing place here who carried the Juki. I assumed you had to order these only. I ordered my Juki and have been waiting and waiting for delivery! Ugh. I’m a novice sewer but a fast learner so I’m hoping this machine will speed up the process of my never ending slipcover projects...and hoping the machine won’t go kaput like my cheap Singers. Guess I’ll just keep watching vids and learn till I receive it. Thank you for the review!
Hi, where in your area is a Juki dealer? Thanks Alice in Fl.
Thanks for the great visual on the needle threaded. The diagram in the book wasn't easy to follow but your video was perfect!
Yes...ditto....I couldn't figure out how to use the needle threader either, so thanks Vanessa! Love your videos and have been a subscriber for many years!
I have the Juki TL 2000Qi (one step older than your 2010Q) and I LOVE it. I quilt with it on a Grace Majestic frame and also love it for piecing but generally use my Juki HZL F600 for daily sewing and piecing. You are Right On with your reviews. These are major league machines.
I can't swing the cost of this particular juki, but the 200Qi is on Amazon for around $650 which is almost $400 less. I read that you have the 2000Qi and would love for you to share your thoughts about one vs the other. I don't quilt, but have gotten into sewing wallets that have very thick layers. my current machine doesn't work well on those which forces me to cut interfacing pieces smaller to reduce bulk. thank you in advance.
Kristina, would you recommend this machine for dressmaking? I need a straight stitcher that is not a complete industrial and it looks good to me, feature-wise. Thank you.
I am so excited. I am fixing to buy this machine too!! LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos. Vanessa you are awesome!!
Wow! I learned on a Juki 30 years ago!
I have this machine, it works great and has lots of power ar ar ar. I use it to sew webbing material. I saw another video of this machine going through 4 layers of leather. Looks like she was sewing motorcycle chaps. What I like about this machine is how slow it can go. I'm not good at sewing and the webbing I sew is like an inch across so the slow speed is nice for the things I sew on it. I've gone through 3 layers of heavy webbing with it no problem. Make sure your bobbin is adjusted right or it can give you trouble. Once I got that adjusted this machine has been working great.
I bought this machine because of you and it works fabulously. Keep up the great work you do, if I had a business I would beg you to work for me.
thanks for the videos . I have been drooling over a Juki 2810-7 , maybe someday .
Awesome explanation and enthusiasm
I have this Juki and just bought the DNU-1541s walking foot industrial. I’ve been a Juki fan bf they were popular. Had my Juki serger now for over 20 years and still going strong!! Amazing machines.
Great review.
Hugs,
Lin
Amazing. Thank you. I just bought one.
Great review! Have this machine and I call her the Beast! She can take on anything!
OMG, I was cringing as you floored it going through those six layers of denim, and then it just flew through them!! I'm sold! :-)
I don’t know why but since I started sewing (30) years ago, I have always used the foot pedal backwards, and after I purchased the Juki 180 QVP having the thread cutter at my toes is much easier!
Your amazing and a great sales person. I am diffently buying this machine. Love your hair and nails, also.
Great review! Thanks for the tutorial on the automatic threader. I’ve looked at many online tutorials and yours is the best! I finally got the auto threader to work!
Venessa- Great job. You put me over the edge. I'm buying based on your rec!
Thank you so much for sharing the video. Greetings from 🇧🇿
I came back to this review a few times, and almost talked myself into giving one of these machines a try. Most modern machines have too much plastic in them for my taste. I prefer vintage all metal machines. At least this machine does have a lot less plastic than most modern machines. And although it's not computerized, I suspect it does have some electronics involved with the needle up/down functionality, and perhaps the speed control and/or thread cutter. I'm not opposed to electronics. I've worked in a corporate data center surrounded by electronics almost two and a half decades. But mechanics tend to outlast electronics. I finally decided to splurge. For a little less than this machine I have an industrial Juki DDL-8700 on its way to me. I had to sacrifice the needle up/down feature and thread cutter. The DDL-8700 does come with a speed regular, ranging from 0 to maximum speed. I've been finding conflicting information on maximum speed, but it's somewhere between 4,500 and 5,500 stitches per minute. It also comes with a presser foot knee lifter, and an oil pump. Yes, it oils itself. I'm looking forward to getting it set up and taking it for a spin. One of these days I might break down and add a modern machine to my collection with a thread cutter and/or needle up/down feature.
I enjoy my Juki as well. I love your enthusiasm on the video. So fun!
thank you. Confirms that I want this machine.
I have the same machine ... Can you do a tutorial to explain how to correct the tension on this machine?
Thank you for the great review!
Great machine! And I always love your denim tests!! 😊
I have this machine and I LOVE IT
Great review. Well presented. Im in the market right now for a new machine (mainly for bag making) and comparing The Juki TL 2010, Brother PQ1500Sl and the newly released Janome 6700P. After having seen MANY reviews now I think this is the one. Thank you.
This machine looks great!! On my list for sure. Thanks for the review.
Just ordered mine. Thanks for the review!!
That speed control is very important when teaching especially younger girls.
I am a big fan of your youtube channel. I saw this review about 18 months ago and I bought one. It's been about 15 months and i was having trouble with the tension. I took it to heart about keeping it oiled. The store I purchased it from and took for service said that I was over oiling the machine and looked like car oil at the bottom. I don't know how that is possible because I only used sewing machine oil. After taking the machine for service, it now does not have the thread cutter, the speed control doesn't work, the automatic needle down isn't working. I am no sad, I truly loved this machine. I am taking it back to see if they can fix that problem now. He said sometimes oil hits the computerized board, but I didn't think it had a computerized board. :( Anyhow. Thanks for the review. I hope my machine come back 100% ok the 2nd time around. I don't know if anyone else has had that problem.
Hi Wendy,
I hope you got your machine fixed. I don't have this machine, but everything that I have read, seen, and heard about this machine, it is not computerized. It is mechanical. So if that's true, it sounds like your repair center is feeding you a line of bologna. If those things were working when you took the machine in the first time, then they should still be working when you got it back. Also, if its not too late, something many people forget about is that if you purchased this using a credit card, many credit cards will double the original manufacturer's warranty. So, if the original warranty is one year, and your machine breaks during the second year, the credit card company (if they have this insurance) will pay for it to be repaired or replaced. This really works; I know because I had to use it on a washing machine that I bought. so if your machine is still broken, call your credit card company and find out if they have this insurance; it just may save you.😄
excellent review, well done!
WOW! Looks like a brilliant machine thanks for sharing! Liz...
Wow. Juki should pay you! Great review!
I just ordered mine today from your guy in Florida!! Love the discount..
love your reviews, you helped me find the perfect machine for me
I bought one and I absolutely love it! mine is the 200qI the difference is I don't have the speed control so have to use it with the foot pedal which I do not mind at all. I love love love this machine. for years now no one could tear me away from my phaff which I still love as this one only straight stiches but for the most part this is the one I use unless I need a zig zag stitch or something other then a straight stitch. thank you so much for showing this vidio!
Thank you for this review!! I just bought one!!
You sold me! I was going back and forth between this and the baby lock Jane. Buying the Juki. Thanks for the great video!!
I have a Singer a basic machine I so have to get the Juke I see and hear they can do everything Everything!!!
Thank you for the info. I purchased one for myself. I tried to order it from your local shop there but they were out of stock. So I went elsewhere, sorry😢 Anywho, love your tutorials. Thank you🤗
I have one love it a lot
obviously there is some computerization/extra electronics inside, but not on the scale of others. Something is telling it needle-down, for ex, or cut the thread. I do want this machine, though ;). If I had more money I'd consider the Juki 150 QVP.
I think I was completely sold at "butter" LOL!!
I bought this machine after watching this video (which I loved) and checking out a few other reviews elsewhere. Unfortunately, it's been disastrous from the start. The sewing pedal has an electronic cutting feature that stopped working (rendering the pedal unworkable) after 1 week. A month later, I got the replacement foot. Since then, I've had problems with the bobbin winder and breaking needles, which has never happened on the other machines I use (Brother and Bernina) in 20 years of regular machine use. The parts are clunky and don't seem well-made and the machine needs lots of trouble-shooting, which is a bummer considering its price and that this is marketed as a semi-pro machine. I foolishly threw out the box after a week so I can't return it-- but I would in a heartbeat and definitely regret this purchase.
Mount Dora has a bridge that goes over the canal to Lake Dora where pontoon boaters cross under the bridge. One day I threw a firecracker under that bridge just as a couple were going under the bridge in their pontoon boat. Man!…. She sure threw up her arms fast! Haha. It’s right there by Taco Johns . I hid behind the tree and laughed. Just smoke on the water and confetti all over. It was SO LOUD! Haha. My Mount Dora lasting memory- haha many years ago
Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed it and will be checking things out.
Great video!I just got my juki walking foot machine today and love it!So excited to finally be able to sew leather and even just be able to hem a pair of thick jeans for a customer without worrying if my needle will break. This is my second juki and really love the brand.I feel like juki is the Rolls Royce of sewing machines.
THANK YOU!!! I've been struggling with the needle threader, and now I can do it!
I bought my Juki because of your review and I love it! Thank you!
Questions:
1. How do I adjust how much thread is left with the automatic thread cutter? My machine is cutting too short of a tail of thread and I end up having to re-thread the needle.
2. Where do you set the tension for sewing jeans vs regular weight cotton fabric?
Mine, too. is there a way to djust that?
I love, love this machine
I have this machine ... OMG .. i love it ....
Thanks for sharing the review
Perfect timing with this review - I'm going to visit this model this week at my sewing store. One question about the thread cutter and locking the stitch, is it the same thing? How to do you lock a stitch on this Juki? I'm really tired of sewing back and forth and tying my sewing ends.
Yay I bought mine today.
Great review. Now to find one in Sydney Australia to try out.
GREAT MANY THANKS! 😊
Wow, you speed demon you! Impressive.
I've got a Brother SE1900 coming, but it does 850 SPM. I'll have to see if I need that extra speed.
Oh, P.S.: I just looked this up -- if I lose the embroidery, and just go with sewing, I can get a Brother PQ1500SL for $599 that will do 1500SPM
Vanessa. Thank you for sharing and getting to the point. Do you still have this machine and is it still working well?
I would love to see how to oil this machine.
i love mine thanks for the great video!
Love your review {always love all your videos!} Just got this machine today!!!
Thought I'd pass on...FACEBOOK has a group for these machine users---very very helpful if you have one!
Can you tell me if this machine will will take a ruler foot for quilting with rulers?
If i would use a Zig Zag stitch for bindings or so, i would always use my mecanical Vintage Lady, Miss Marla Singer 216G. 😅 She's a wild girl between she will work beautiffly! Oh, i forgot: I LOVE THIS JUKI TOO. Wish me luck someone's buing my oil paintings so i can make an order with help from a Sewing Shop i contaktet so mybe the can order it for me and later let it send to my home! USA AMAZON do not shipping the TL 2010 Q to Austria directly...uuuufff😕. But hey, i do not want to interupt your video, i like it very much! Thumbs up!😊
How is this machine on thicker fabrics and vinyl?
hi can you do videos on all your machines sew knit fabrics
Would you recommend this machine for begginer sewers, like me, to use. Im also trying to sew a few jackets together, would you also reccomend me using this machine to make them.
