    Vanessa, thank you so much for suggesting this machine. I absolutely love my Juki exceed, no other machine compares. Thank you so much, I had not seen in 20 years. Now I constantly sew , bless you for this suggestion.

    Wow, Im trying to surprise my wife. Shes a new quilter sewer for about 2 years now. Has been making various quilts, bags and does clothing hems , repairs etc. I was looking at this machine now in 2022. Nice video. I think I will purchase it for her. I had purchased her the Juki serger 645DE. She loved it. Hopefully she will love this. She needs a cool upgrade from her basic beginner Brother. Thank you for a cool tutorial.

    I'm new to sewing, but not to fiber craft (I'm a longtime knitter, crocheter, teacher and fiber artist). I just want to compliment you on your presentation style. You are not only a great instructor, but you speak very eloquently and clearly. It's a rare quality, not only in the podcast and video tutorial arena, but in the world in general. Thank you for your wonderful work. I'm a new fan!

      She often has great content pretty consistently, but I wish she’d speak more slowly. I am an expert in that as I worked in radio and TV on the air and as a producer.

    • @grandmalovesmebest
      @grandmalovesmebest 5 лет назад +3

      Happybidr Perhaps but she is 99% as far as the you tube presenters.

    • @grandmalovesmebest
      @grandmalovesmebest 5 лет назад +2

      Todd Grossman Absolutely! Isn't it a joy to watch and listen to her? Idk why ppl come on you tube looking like they just tumbled from bed, work in a messy living room, are interrupted by pets, kids, hubbys, haven't set up their camera angles prior to starting, keep apologizing for not being ready or having a cold or missing the last program, etc. The worst thing about watching these programs is that most presenters haven't a clue about how to present, haven't written any notes about what they want to say, haven't done a practice run through, blather on about what they do/don't do instead of just demonstrating. Luckily for us, there are usually several videos on the same subject so we can at least choose, if not a good one, a better one.
      Not being mean, just wishing. I worked in medicine and had to sit through grad school endless presentations by not only students but professors and then mandatory continuing education seminars by which almost no one ever bothered to learn how to present. So I wish there were presentations on how to present and I wish everyone on you tube would be good enough to study and learn from them. I wish . . .

And today after watching you do this demo again I called Sew Mini Things and purchased the last one that they had in stock today. Phillip place my order. You probably have sold a lot of Juki Sewing machines with this demo. Your tutorials really give me motivation to become an awesome homemaker like you. I will forever be WOWED by you Crafty!

    Hey lady, ive been following you since you first published a basket making video , many moons ago, cloth strips sewn around a cotton core, I gotta say you've come a looooong way, I'm an old guy just trying to stay busy and I make a lot of your stuff, I did a ton of research on this machine after I saw your review, I'm down south a bit and my local guy in pompano let me burn up a spool of thread on one, its now sitting on my table, calling to me, it wont let me sleep or eat, I had to sneak out here to say thank you for hooking us up, I'm not the slightest bit disappointed, keep it up lady you are getting famous.

    I love my juki have the 600 and can go from quilting to fixing jeans to making heat bags without any problems
    The button holes are amazing it is all automatic and everyone is the same you can also do it manually as well,
    I have also just recently bought a foot to use with rulers for quilting and it handled that as well, I do also own an industrial juki its a very old model and it still runs like a charm.

    I LOVED your instruction video. I have sewn for years -- at least 20-25 from simple to tailoring -- my eldest son wore a 3-pc suit I made for him. He could still wear the pants if he took off a few pounds. I also am an avid craft person -- crocheting, knitting, embroidery however I have not taken up a new project in over a year. I recently thought about quilting went out and purchased a "Brother quilting machine but returned it. After watching your very professional video, I realize what the problem was. The Brother just did not do it for me. Also I did not have the advantage of the "Crafty Gemini" to take me through the pros and cons. Girl, you are the BOMB! I loved your presentation skills. I am buying the Juki HZL F600!! I know that you cautioned to investigate different model -- but you more than convinced me. Take care, I subscribed and I will be watching for your other videos. Thank you. Mae Taylor

    Thank you so much for a great, in depth review. I have watched many of your videos over the years and really appreciate your communication and teaching style. My grandmother was a wonderful quilter but unfortunately I never had the interest or took the time to learn from her while she was with us. Once I had children of my own, I got hooked and now I love it. So I get to learn from teachers like you. I have been on the hunt for a new machine and was overwhelmed by all the options and conflicting reviews. I watched your review of the Juki HZL-F600 and I ordered my own that night. Thank you for all you do and for making sewing so much fun.

    I've had this machine for a year and I super L💛VE it! I've only been sewing less than 2 years and knew nothing...I did about a month of research and this is the machine I chose. I'm so happy I did. It worked perfect right out of the box and the manual is super easy to use and understand! I bought a Juki serger 5 months ago. It works great too! Still learning to serge but I love it. My next machine will be the Juki 2010. I'm a Juki girl all the way!

    What a wonderful presentation Vanessa! I currently have a Pfaff 7530 Creative from the 1990's. Haven't used it for about 15 yrs, got divorced and started working. It's out getting a tune up now, but not sure how long a machines life is.....hmmm. Never heard of a Juki till recently and it's very intriguing. If I do go for a new one, it would be this one for sure. Am retired now, and anxious to get my machine back and gettin to sewin LOL!!! Blessings my friend!

    Thank you for putting this video together. Great presentation! Juki should have you on their payroll - it is because of your video that I immediately ran to buy the F600! It was the 8-layer denim test that did it for me, as well as learning of the slow-start feature (issues with breaking threads and struggling with thick fabrics were constant gotchas for me). Had I not seen your video, I wouldn't have known that this particular machine corrects both problems for me, and I wouldn't have bought it. Thanks again!!

    The reason the two plugs are beneficial is that you can unplug the pedal and uses start stop button on the face of the sewing machine. This is very helpful when you are so a lot of decorative stitches at a steady speed. As a quilter, I think you are not using the sewing machine to its full capacity if you're not using the decorative stitches and the monogramming. I do a lot of small projects and use a lot of decorative threads and stitches. Unplugging the foot and using the start stop button saves a lot of effort.

    I'm in the market for a new sewing machine and want a really good, heavy duty machine with a few bells and whistles. Nothing too fancy just something that's going to last for many years to come.

    Wow thank you! Really thinking of purchasing this machine, and I liked your review! Though, the slow motion when you begin sewing doesn't actually have anything to do when your needle unthreads by itself, that's only due to two things: 1 you didn't pull enough thread through the needle or 2: your machine stopped with the upper crochet (upper hook) down, so when it goes up it pulls the thread all the way out of the needle. Thanks to the automatic needle up position, that doesn't happen on this machine. For those who experience the bird nest, try and keep your upper thread in a little tension after lowering the the foot and begin sewing, so that it won't form additional loops in the lower crochet

    I just caught the sewing bug less than a month ago and did not even know sewing machines came in plastic housing or what a serger even was. Countless hours on YT and online researching and I'm the excited owner of a Juki DX7. As I planned my first project, I decided I wanted a serger -waffled between a brother 1034 and MO 1000 like yours and currently awaiting delivery of a MO 2000 serger.
    I won't be surprised if within 3 months, I don't end up with the 2010Q or something along that line. LOL
    Now I understand the machine craze.

    Thank you so .uch for the great reviews. I have a Janome MC 11000 that is 25+ years old and feeling its age. After watching your reviews I have narrowed my choices to the Juki F 600 and Juki DX 7. I have watched both reviews and I have not noticed any real difference. I quilt and garment sew. Could you point out the difference in features , price and any suggestions. I like the extra light and programmable pedal. Maybe I have watched them too much and combined them into one machine in my 70 year old mind. Thank goodness you for your time I was a busy Mom too.

    Excellent video! I agree with Todd Grossman: you are a wonderful explainer. I was leaning toward a Juki but your video has helped me make the decision to go for the F600. Answered so many of my questions and gave me a sense of the sewing rhythm of the Juki. I'm in Charlotte, NC so I can't support your Florida supplier, but I appreciate your insights.

    Nice review Vanessa!
    I learned a long time ago to let everybody know that I was not paid, received no discount that they themselves couldn't get, etc.... Sadly, a lot of people feel that we are not willing to share our experience for free and without a catch. Keep up the great work!
    I did have to laugh about the comment about the nice large throat space. I was complaining about only have 14 inches of throat space on a machine the other day. In the end I guess it is what you are used to. LOL

    So happy for you, Vanessa! I have the same machine. Though, no dealer close by and I purchased it on eBay, new.
    I do love the extension table and knee-lifter!
    You have not mentioned that with this machine we can change pressure of the presses feet, depending on the thickness of fabrick!
    Thank you for the tip on stitch #2. I am not a quilter, but it is good to know.
    I do love my machine but have a few issues - at regular tension, top thread is too tight, so I adjust it; auto-cutter does it job when needle goes down, not up, kinda makes me nervous; and my machine does 1 extra stitch at the end and on reverse stitching, so I have to adjust my habits.

    I have a Singer Start 1304. Thought it would be great for someone like me that is kind of new to sewing. If had it for a few months and realized I need something better. As I'm getting better and getting into more projects it's just not working with this machine. I want one more heavy duty. I love your review. It's very helpful. Thanks

    Hi, heard you say in the video that you dont like the seperate cables. Maybe you already mixed up cables and foot pedals, found a solution or just got used to it. But anyway, there is maybe another pretty cheap solution aside labeling: spiral wrap sleeving. Just put some on the last couple of inches. It is not sticky, so it doesn't attract dirt, and it comes in different sizes and colours (but most common are black and grey)
    Thanks for the great videos

    I have both the Juki F400 and the TL2000qi... best machines I ever sew on and easy to use and the only one to my knowledge with a foot pedal thread cutter. Also flawless buttonholes even when sewing near seam humps. Although the walking foot is great, you'll find you hardly ever need use it!!!

    Just a hint: Tape the power cords together and label.

    A zip tie will solve the problem of separate cords. I also use a dymo label maker to label my cords and foot pedals to each machine name & model

    I bought one in 2010 from "The Sewing Machine Shop", Walnut Creek, California. I found their offer on line: $1091.41 which includes 9.25% sales tax. W/o Tax: $999.00. At the time it was on special, but the shop was very well stocked with other machines as well.

    That is a great looking sewing machine and I wish that I could afford it since I have so many pieces of quilting material which belonged to my grandmother years ago and no one never used it. I am not a professional on sewing machines, but is thinking of using the new machine I purchased to maybe finish the work which was left in pieces. I got the machine to make regular projects on the side when not doing anything else like masks for some of the professionals in my area who need them now.

    Gemini, I'd really love to know your experience with the F600 (and other equivalent machines) on heavy threads. Have you attempted "jean thread"? or the Gutterman "top stitching" threads? or, TEX 80 bonded polyester threads? basically, upholstory-level threads. and what's the capabiltiy to do buttonhole using these threads?

    Loved your review. What size needle sewed through all those different fabrics including 8 layers of denim?

  • @bobcatt2294
    @bobcatt2294 4 года назад

    About auto thread cutting. At: 10:35 you demonstrate auto thread cutting. There are those who prefer not to use auto thread cutting as the bobbin thread is also cut too short and gets buried in the bobbin chamber. They would rather pull on the material to expose the thread at a preferred length so that when starting a new stitch, both bobbin and upper thread are held down for the beginning stitch.
