Nope I am still in bed. This was pre recorded cause I knew I needed a few videos for while I was down. I was pre warned from the dr that I would have 3 weeks down so I made 3 videos prior to going in for surgery.
Thank you Tiffany. I love my Juki just like yours, and it never hurts to have a review of all the things it does and how to use it. I also have problems using the needle threader, and still thread by hand. Have a great day, and see you Sunday.
I am brand new to Juki and after purchasing a TL-2010Q at the beginning the year, I just had a chance to sit down to thread it, etc. I know that sounds crazy but with work and life, I just haven’t had a chance. I cannot tell you how MUCH your video helped me and I thank you for that! You are very clear and thorough and this video is excellent!!
Hi Tiffy, thanks so much for this. I don’t have a Juki but you never know, I may get one one day. You’re an excellent ambassador for them! Such a great teacher. Bless you. 🥰❤️🇦🇺😊
Hey Tiffany, I’ve been eyeing this machine. I currently sew on a 1956 Singer Featherweight which is absolutely a dream. She’s no where as speedy as a Juki. I think about The Tortoise and the Hare 😆 Still I’m keeping this Juki in mind. Great tips on this machine. Thanks for getting videos ready to post while you recoup from surgery. Feel better! 💐
Ya I made sure to make a couple videos prior to surgery to make sure fans had something new to watch. Also when your ready to read more specs on the Juki here is a link shrsl.com/42l5t
Thanks so much for this excellent demonstration, unboxing video. I've only opened my box to check contents and packed it back up. I've had it for a little over 2 years. Unfortunately, I've not been able to sew since I got my JUKI. Watching this is helps my confidence. I'll be unboxing it soon.
@gracehillgranny, I hope you have been able to enjoy your machine since this video! This is my dream machine but I'll never be able to afford one like this. I'm sure it's been hard having it and not being able to get to use this beautiful machine. I know this was a few months ago but I haven't been online much because of my own health. Blessings to you and I honestly hope you're doing well and have been able to enjoy your machine!! Tiffany is wonderful at everything she does! IMO😊 So I hope you picked up some great tips in order to get your groove back into sewing 😊
I’ve had my Juki around 4 years and love it. When it’s time for the thread to go through the needle loosen the tension coming from your hand. Don’t hold it tight. Glad to see you up and around 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That is interesting about the oiling. The manual for JukiTL2010Q says to lubricate daily if you use it daily. The walking foot for my Juki is even louder than that. I hate the noise it makes.
Tiffany, you have become the next spokes person for Juki. Lol. Thank you for the info. I like trying to learn about the differences in different sewing machines. I have the Kenmore sewing machine my mother had. I’ve taking as good care of it as I can.
I purchased my Juki TL-2010Q after many hours of watching you sew. I have enjoyed this machine so much its a great machine for a beginning quilter or an experienced one. I just started learning free motion and its such a easy machine to do this on.
Hey Tiffany and Scott! So happy to see you. Got another machine to add to your collection. I myself have 4 machines. One of them is the Juki QL F600 that I love. Two are being used right now and the others are waiting for a warm-up soon. Can't wait until you are back for another wonderful creation that I can do. Love and miss you both. Bless you, and your family.
Thank you for this informative video, I have this exact machine and learned some new tips for using it. Can’t say enough good things about this wonderful machine which is my first what I consider professional type machine. It is amazing!
I have to get used to my knee lift. I had my Juki TL 2010Q about 2 years and I didn't know the cutter was so close to the bobbin. Thank you for that information. You're such a great teacher.
Good morning! So glad to see you up and around! A backup machine is such a great thing to have. I’ve got 2 industrials and an older Brother VQ2400 for free motion quilting, and a travel machine. My backup has a backup. 😄
I bought my juki 10 years ago-and it is in service right now. I have been wait Hồng for the parts but with back order issue I really contemplating to get another one and was thinking of this one- so perfect timing

Just got my Juki 2010 on your recommendation and my friend. I think I’m going to love it❤. Keeping my Brothers innovation Disney addition for some fancy stitching. Ready set sew 🎉
Very good demonstration. Most shops are in a hurry to make a sale, they're not as thorough as you are now. I can't use my needle threader either. Nice to know someone else has the same issue lol I have the singer quantum stylist 9960. It has a lot of the same features. Have a wonderful day 💛 😊
Congratulations!!!!! I’m glad you got another Juki cuz you LOVE them and we all see what you do with them…. I’m thinking bout getting me one!!!❤❤. Who do you refer Tiffany ❤❤❤
Hi Tiffany, good to see you up and about. FYI watch on RUclips Juki Junkies video on how to thread the TL2010Q. They do not thread all 3 holes on that first guide. Also, they show how to use the needle threader. If I do it the way they show, it works every time. 🙂 Happy quilting!
I'm not up and about yet. I had this pre recorded 😊 When it comes to threading I always thread all 3 when I use 50wt or smaller thread. And for thicker thread I only thread 2 holes. As far as the threader I fail at it 99% of the time. I just can't get it even after watching videos on it 😩
Hi Tiffany you done a great job unboxing the Juki TL 2010Q. I learned so much from you that day. I loved everything about this sewing machine so I bought one after watching you unbox. Mine will be here tomorrow! Can’t hardly wait. I was wondering where you buy your thread? And what kind. Thank you so much. You are my favorite too watch. ❤
I use many brands of thread, so my husband buys it for me everywhere. I recently bought a bunch of Essential thread off of a local sale group so I will be using that brand for a while.
I have had a Bernina for over 20 years but have been very interested in this Juki. I want a mechanical NO COMPUTER machine in my fleet. Tnanks so much for this. BTW…the needle threader on my Bernina is fussy too.
TY Tiffany & Scott! I absolutely love my Juki! The only problem is that darn needle threader😭 Not only on this series, but all of them. Praying Juki will SOON change the ease of this threader. I’ve noticed complaints on many channels. I would still buy it, if it didn’t have a threader! It’s THAT perfect💕🧵
Ya its a frustrating little threader... My Juki F600 its threader is way easier to use. This one I just give up on. But I still use and love my machine haha
The presser foot pressure should be reduced when using the Juki walking foot. The manual also says to sew at medium speed or slower with the walking foot. Think walking speed for the walking foot.
I just remembered that you are recovering, rest well and can't wait to see your next projects 💜. I'll keep watching your many videos. They help me so much.
Glad to see your feeling a bit better Tiffany. Be well. Sorry…I should have said, good morning. Fun day for me today another Dr app for my lower back. Waiting for my Dr to get some pain meds to me, my Dr is slow about it all.
Don't think she is up and about much yet. It's only been a week.I think this was pre-taped🤷 Her Juki (the same kind) is sitting there. It broke again though).
Yes the needle is from left to right threading. Its due to a side load bobbin. You can totally turn it sideways and FMQ or leave it in the position you normally sew in to quilt as well.
Loved your presentation. Easy to understand. BTW what is that little green thing you used to thread the needle? I too sometimes can’t get that self threader to work 😅
My table is an office desk from a closed down insurance office. I spent years seeking a desk with the drawers on the left and open space on the right. This one I got off marketplace after so much time looking. So check thrift stores and marketplace and even the newspaper ads.
Hi Tiffany thank you for your tutorial. Always great. I am waiting to buy a Juki soon. Do you use the industrial machines? This machines looks awesome to use. 😊
@Tiffany's Quilting Life the problem is I live in Australia. I don't know how it would work with the shipping costs. Overhead they are over$2 grand. It could be cheaper I will check into it xx
Hi Tiffany. I love my Juki 2010. What machine works you recommend for a sewing machine with fonts and decorative stitches? I noticed you have a hzl series, do you like it?
I only use aluminum bobbins in the TL-2010Q. I have colored plastic ones for my Brother machine. I've also not ran prewound and those are on like a cardboard type bobbin.
It's just a drop of oil in all 6 ports. The book says where the oil goes. I oil mine more than the book says, cause I sew more than others. But it's once every few months as the book says.
How is this machine with using vinyls and leather? I'm stuck between this machine and janome hd9 and brother pq1500. Is this more of a quilting machine or can make alot of different things with it?
I've used it with vinyl and it works great. It will comfortably sew 2 layers of vinyl and 2 layers of canvas. I've tested it with 4 and 6 layers of vinyl and it works. 4 is good 6 is pushing it and it did do 8 but you'll stress the machine if you sew that much regularly. But I ran leather through it now too and it's great with that as well. Just make sure you get a Teflon foot for it. I don't use it for that no more now. I got an industrial for my vinyl and leather bags. Since I have blown a motor in this model before. But I sew more than average.
It's great for making bags. I did however get an industrial now for bags so I can work through leather and vinyl better and save this machine here for piecing quilts only.
I was watching Miss Becca last night on her live and asked her what machine she and Ian would suggest for bag making and she suggested this one. I'm leaning more towards the other Juki you have or even up from there. I don't want to jump in and then wish I had got the machine with more bells and whistles so to speak. If I can afford to go bigger (up to $2,500), do you think I should? Or do you think since I am still just a few years into sewing, I should start off smaller...like say a $200 HD Singer from Wally World? I would appreciate any feedback you can offer. Thanks
I would say this one if your making bags and you already have another machine you do everything else with. It also depends on what kind of bags you wanna make. This will sew through vinyl, leather, cork, canvas and so on. But more and more layers (especially leather) you would be better off with the DU-1181N that I have as well. If you just plan to do easy cotton and mix cotton and vinyl bags or what have you, then I would say this TL-2010Q is a great choice and you save some money since it's under your price point. That allows ya to buy bag making supplies and such.
Unboxed my JUKI TL-2010Q this morning and followed your instructional video and I am getting beautiful stitches. Thank you so much my dear! 😀👍
You're a good teacher, and Juki should be using you as a spokesperson. I already know you're going to love the machine.
yes!!!
yup I do haha As for spokesperson... that is a future dream ;-}
I have a brother sewing machine but I sew by hand mostly i make crazy quilt pillows and purses wallhangings I'm addicted to doing them
I just got my machine and this was SO helpful!!! Thank you
Happy you have a machine that you love times 2 Thank you for your review
You bet 😉
Very thorough overview snd lesson! Thank you! I just ordered the Juki 2010q and I’m so excited!!

Yup its why I just use a regular threader or thread myself when steady hands allow.
Hi, Tiffany.
Thank you for a very helpful, clear tutorial!

That is interesting about the oiling. The manual for JukiTL2010Q says to lubricate daily if you use it daily. The walking foot for my Juki is even louder than that. I hate the noise it makes.
Yup the manual says one thing. The Juki corp says another. I just oil as needed honestly. So 1 drop before each project pretty much in all the ports.
With two juki’s you can teach Scott to sew. Sew you can Ironman.
I said that to him when I got it.... He said ummmmmmm NOPE haha and laughed at me. Told me this is my thing lol
Great video! Your instructions are so clear. I love the fact that you are a long time user of this machine and can share your experience with us.
you need to be a juki representative because you are great at showing

Awesome demonstration 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 the threading is more complicated than my machine, but that’s probably why you can go so fast without problems

If you're sewing through many thicknesses, such as adding a handle to a bag with bound seams, "turtle" (slow) speed can save breaking a needle.

Beautiful machine is the needle in sideways for free motion quilting so you can sit to the side of machine to free motion quilting?
Yes, the needle is sideways (flat side facing right).
You don’t move the needle but you can sit sideways and free option from there.
Yes the needle is from left to right threading. Its due to a side load bobbin. You can totally turn it sideways and FMQ or leave it in the position you normally sew in to quilt as well.

Hi Tiffany. I love my Juki 2010. What machine works you recommend for a sewing machine with fonts and decorative stitches? I noticed you have a hzl series, do you like it?
I have the HZL F600 and I love it so far. It has so many stitches on it and it is very easy (user friendly) to use. shrsl.com/42l6f
This is before your operation?
Yes its Pre-recorded :-)
Sorry but in a delema. Can I use 2 different color batting for quilting dark color quilt?
If it's all ya got, then I don't see why not
This looks almost identical to my Baby Lock Accomplish!
I just bought my first Juki TL2010Q. One question…how to see the top wicks?
What do you mean? In the oiling ports?
@@TiffanysQuiltingLife yes. You mentioned something about oil wicks in the top of the machine. How do we view them to see if they are dirty or oily?
You would have to take it apart. They really do not get that dirty.
I want this machine !
It is a fabulous machine shrsl.com/42l5t
According to the threading directions, don't use the middle hole in step one unless using very fine thqreads.
I use it for 50wt or less 😊
Hi. Do u have to use metal bobbins? I ask as you mentioned colored ones?
I only use aluminum bobbins in the TL-2010Q. I have colored plastic ones for my Brother machine. I've also not ran prewound and those are on like a cardboard type bobbin.
@@TiffanysQuiltingLife thank you very much. I appreciate the information
What kind of needle threader you have and from where? I have a different brand but it's tought to thread also.
I bought a pack of these here shrsl.com/42l5y
There is a second hook on the right side of the auto threader and a bobbin needs to be in. I watched a video yesterday 😂
I love my Juki, but still can’t use needle threader!
It's just a finicky threader
I was wondering, are you supposed to oil the machine before you use it?
It's just a drop of oil in all 6 ports. The book says where the oil goes. I oil mine more than the book says, cause I sew more than others. But it's once every few months as the book says.
Cool, thank you so much!
where do you buy your juki machines from?
I buy all my machines here shrsl.com/4aad7
@@TiffanysQuiltingLife k thanks. I'm stuck on the decision with which one but the Janome is so much more in price.
Where did you buy your green needle threader.
Most shops sell the hummingbird threader. Walmart has them too (online at least)
What do you think about this machine for bag making??
It's great for making bags. I did however get an industrial now for bags so I can work through leather and vinyl better and save this machine here for piecing quilts only.
I can't find a needle threader that looks like the green one you used. Where did you buy it? Brand? Thanks
This is the threader that I bought a pack of cause I am always misplacing mine haha shrsl.com/42l5y
@Tiffany's Quilting Life Thanks Tiffany!
Thanks
I currently own the Brother Dream Machine 2 Innovis 8550D and plan on keeping it as my main machine.
Thanks for your help.
How expensive of a machine is this? I might be interested.
The price is about the same everywhere that sells it right now shrsl.com/42l5t
