Make sure to push the bobbin all the way in until it clicks. I made the mistake of not doing this on my first try! Thanks for the video am so glad I found you.
Thank you for going over this machine. I just purchased this Juki and have no idea about it. Thank you for going over the features and different parts that come with it.
I am celebrating a "milestone birthday" by purchasing the 18QVP. Sitting down to test drive this Juki, reminds me of my Mother's first Singer mechanical sewing machine. I did not like sewing at 8 or 9 years old and had to do a 4-H demonstration on that old machine. If only it had been this Juki. Thank you for the demonstration Sara! I would say that it is a 4-H Best of Show presentation!
I love that you're both so professional and reliable, from the practical knowledge you share, to the presentation of your videos. And you care too! Thank you 💐
Thank you so much, This is the first time the screen was big enough for me to actually see what is happening as you use the needle threader, I have watch all of then and I could not see how to thread the machine. the small area blown up a bit more really help me to see what you were doing. So I hope that you will continue to show a larger shot angle in the needle threader area.
Nice review! I have the TL-18qvp and love it. I use the micro lifter when free motion quilting, it allows for easy sliding of the layers under the needle. I didn’t realize that I could use it while sewing thicker layers like you demonstrated. Thanks for showing that feature.
Wow thanks for this video much much better than others I have found I have had mine about 6 months and your video has helped me tremendously different from my Bernina
Excellent demo! Have a Juki on my quilting frame. I like a metal machine body too. I am amazed at how many layers you could sew. that feature is a good selling feature.
Thank you so much for this comprehensive video! I just bought this machine and you have answered so many of my questions. It is thorough - just like your amazing bag classes!
Just bought this machine today and was pleasantly surprised to learn that this is the machine you use for bag making! I had been looking at the TL 2010 as well as the babylock accomplish. Went to a Juki dealer in Maryland today and she had this one and I was sold! I was also shown the j150qp which I really fell for but can’t justify spending that money on that right now. So I got the 18 instead. Hope to make some great bags and wallets! Thank you for always being so helpful!
Is there a "wrong" way to replace the needle? It seems like a foolish question, but after replacing my needle today, I had problems with the top and bottom threads not connecting, I took the needle out and put it back in again, making sure the eye was part was not turned and it seems to be okay. Thank you. Nice that you not ramble through your demonstration. Easy to understand!
🙏🤩 great vid - answered so many questions both in the demo & Q&A - very helpful for when I finally unbox mine - I’ll have an idea of what I’ll need to do to get it going - thank you
Thank you Sara. I am considering buying this one from Amazon CA. I guess the micro-lifter is similar to the idea of a hump jumper? Does this model have a free arm?
I have this machine and I love it! I'm wondering if you could talk about tension for this machine. I never have tension problems, but if I do, I'd love to know what to do :-)
So funny to hear praise for all metal sewing machine. My first machine was a sage green New Home. It was a champ. I have started collecting Jukies lol. I want this one. I wish someone would tell me what this one does that the TL 2010 doesn’t do.
I believe in the video, she mentions three new features compared to the TL 2010...but one "feature" might just be the large array of accessory feet. I'd have to re-watch the video, but the micro-lifter is one and there's one more.
Did a great job explaining everything ,i am a paraplegic so i was looking into that knee lift :: thinking i could reverse the position by bringing it to the top so i could use my should to run the machine I want this machine to sew 5- 7 oz leather computer hand bags even maybe some weight lifting belts it looks like it can handle it . Wht do you think ? thanks Richard
I’m not familiar with anything on a sewing machine but for some unknown reason my husband bought this for my birthday. Is there any hope for me to learn how to make anything? I’d happy to make a pot holder for starters.
@@alysonsneyd3401 I should have known! I came late to the party. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. I am struggling to figure out how to use Tex 70, but I really, really love the machine overall!
I am trying to decide on a machine for bag making. I'll be working with vinyl, cork, and canvas primarily and also using decovil. I was looking to the Juki TL 2010Q. Does the 18QVP have any features that would make bag making significantly easier or increase the potential quality of the finished bag?
Hello good day! Thank you ever so much for this vid. Will you kindly say please how fast does this Juki TL18QVP sew, how many stitches per minute? We need 2,500 or faster. Thank you! Appreciate you. 😊 Zadie.
Hi there, this video is awesome. I just got this sewing machine and I love it. Can you please tell me what is the name of the foot that you got separately, for the zipper? Thank you.
Contemplating between the 18 and 2010. Is the micro lifter worth the additional cost or can you do the same with the 2010 for bag making if your not sewing 16 layers of fabric but maybe leather and denim but normal layers in a bag? Thank you so much for the video I want to buy Juki but not sure which one
Great, informative video - thanks. Did you say that one of the 3 freemotion sewing feet could be used for freemotion ruler quilting? To my eye, they all looked too thin to use with a ruler - like they might slip underneath the ruler and break things (needle, ruler, …) . Is there a freemotion ruler quilting foot that can be used on this machine?
Thank you so much for this demonstration! Yours was the most helpful in learning to thread this Juki machine. I am new to using a knee lift. Can you tell me if the knee lift is supposed to raise the presser foot just enough to try and slide your fabric out or is it supposed to lift it to the point of locking the presser foot in the up position? Thanks for your help!
I want to buy myself a Juki, but I am so unsure about what model to choose. Your video helped me a lot information wise. Thank you. I keep thinking I am too old to invest in something expensive.
Why not getting a walking foot model like the Juki DNU-1541 to make your bags? Will my Juki HZL-F600 do everything this model will do? Why is this one better?
Are you making sure to set the empty bobbin onto the little ‘catch’? Like you should turn it until it kind of drops a tiny bit and almost snaps into place. Then you move the lever into place to hold it still, basically locking it into place
I have a brand new Juki TL-18QVP. I just used the walking foot for the first time and was so disappointed that it left a black powdery residue trail. What could be causing this?
@@cindihager3409 I twill let you know if I get a reply. Online, I found a discussion board post that said they oiled the walking foot and that solved the problem. There was no information about what to oil.
