Gotta be willing to use your car as a weapon. This takes a very determined defender.
The husband should have bought her a Big and Powerful Armor SUV
to me that was her best bet
If this really is a common thing in that area then I would not have stopped. As soon as that van came over I would have turned to avoid it and kept going. If possible of course which we don't know. Too much of this channel is pure after-the-fact BS that means nothing in real life.
bullet proof glass, armored plating, and a great deal of suspension, basically an unmovable fortress with the capability of crushing a van in front of it where blocking from the front won't work
Most people live in ignorance not taking the threat serious with an attitude of "surely it can't happen to me", until it does.
Right before the 2nd car blocked her rear, she had 2 to 3 seconds to jump to reverse while steering off a straight line and use her car to either ram into the guys or get out of the scene. Defensive car driving skills can help a lot.
Especially since she was in a car that can 0-60 in 3 sec vs a minivan
Not true. You're watching way too much tv. 😂
keep pretending you have the kind of reaction speed and magical awareness that let's you know this is a kidnapping situation and the best course of action is to reverse in the next second before the other car you didn't see coming pulls behind you. you're so full of shit
Women are not great at making split second life saving decisions under stress! That's why they make poor cops or soldiers.
@@chuckalucktoo5492 It's not that difficult to do... for a man. Unfortunately women don't think under pressure as well in these situations
If you want to flash your wealth around, hiring a bodyguard is chump change compared to ransom or trauma for the couple.
PPO's are not cheap. For full time, you would need a crew of at least 3 or 4 on 8 hour shifts plus an alternate/backup. If you want someone to take a round meant for you, figure on low six figures each plus insurance.
You are spot on. My son provides such services.
The clients know the expense is a small price to pay for peace of mind and security. It is unfortunate but necessary.

These kidnappers knew a LOT about this woman. They knew exactly where they could pull this off. She was oblivious to their prior surveillance to plan it and to the car that was following her. Scary stuff.
Maybe stay in the car with the doors locked and try to ram her way out of it. The only problem is air bags. But that Audi has enough power to push those other cars.
And traction .
Yea being in that area just be aware. Had a little time to reverse and turn before the 2nd car. Also need to be armed.
Safety features disabled her car. She needed to have them off right then and there.
Why the 2cnd amendment is so important 😢 thankfully she survived.
This is South Africa
@@infinidominionAnd the laws in South Africa should reflect the universal right to self defense, and allow people to carry firearms. We here in America should take the lesson to heart that carrying a firearm is important for our personal safety.

There's no history in life where one person sitting in a car with site belt on and out gun/victory over 2 to 6 already armed pointing it to you.
Makes me think about the woman kidnapped at the stoplight in the US recently, then found dead/burned 2 hours later. Gotta use that gas pedal and vehicle as a tool to escape. Glad this lady is okay.
I never heard about this story.
In South Africa it's all about money. 99% of kidnapping are for ransom.
I think they didn't take the expensive car for they were afraid it had a built-in gps tracking device.
@jimc8925 It's not a GPS issue. It's a car you can't hide issue, as not many are in that part of the world.
Nope. It's easier and safer to just get the money.
In the words of DMX, "If you flaunt that sh** you must not want that sh**." Don't advertise how much $ you have.

100%. I have 6 figures in bank accounts, cash and gold in a safe at home. I wear chuck Taylor’s, jeans, no jewelry and drive an accord.
That's why in dangerous places like South Africa, you shouldn't flaunt your wealth, by driving flash cars and wear expensive clothes and jewellery.
I know a very wealthy man and he drives a beater car and wears clothes that are probably bought from local Walmart's.
Why try to keep on impressing people? Just have a happy life and don't care what other people think!
IKR - if I lived in South Africa I would dress like Sharlto Copley's character in Elysium.
Also dangerous places like Toronto Canada. Thanks Justin.
I mean even if you did flaunt that stuff, it doesnt mean that you are actually wealthy, people go into debt for nice things.
There's no S in Walmart. (Just had to. Lol. )
I just had a gun pulled on me today for driving an ugly ahh beater car ig i was parked to close to a school bus stop
It doesn't/shouldn't matter where you live, you have the right to protect/defend yourself! BE PREPARED!!
Well sadly it does matter, as owning guns in many countries is a crime.
If you cant own a gun, but the one attacking you has one, not much you can do.
It almost looks like the security guards were waiting for the crooks to leave so they could finally show up.
There was a movie like that where the security guards, the kidnappers, and the woman were all in it.

Funny I just mentioned SA to a friend. A technical trainer I worked with is Australian and married a girl from SA so he moved there. They live in a walled/gated community and the men are the civilian police force and they have everything a US major city would have for equipment including machine guns. He moved out of Australia because of their gun grabbers and criminal protection.

She fought with all she had sometimes you just can’t win and that (to me that is) is very scary
That sucks good example of not having situational awareness being able and ready to move and not freeze up even backing up immediately. Sorry lady you had to be the good example to us all
Well no. These kidnapping syndicates here in South Africa will think nothing about killing you in the street.
Our firearms community is quite small and close knit, and we recently had 2 sport shooters lose their lives in attempted kidnappings.
In both cases, the sport shooters defended themselves and took out the kidnappers, but were shot and mortally wounded in the process.
FYI: the incident in the video happened outside their factory in an industrial area.
How easy is it to legally own a gun in South Africa?
The process is annoying and long but very possible for most people. If you want one and don't have a criminal record there's a good chance you'll get it. The biggest deterrent is the often year+ process.
She needed to drive away and not just sit there
Many, many greetings good men John and Neil
Poor woman. No telling what those future doctors and lawyers did to her while they had her.
Might as well drive an armored car if u got it like that….
Wow that was crazy
Great advice as usual - I would say that tactical driving would be of more importance than a gun in this instance.

I worked in Reynosa Mexico (and a few other cities there) and this stuff happened all the time. If anyone, including the police tried to stop us we'd speed away and drive straight to the border crossing.

Atheist, left-leaning, veteran, heavy gun owner here. I've been watching this channel for years. The lessons from this channel probably saved many innocent lives, and they make you really think about how situations can be so different. It's a corrupt government's fault, I live in South Africa and it's a wonderful country. But every country has a butthole.
I met a SA white couple with a young daughter while vacationing in Maine in 1984. I asked them why they wanted to move to the USA, they said the country was falling apart and became more dangerous by the day. Smart couple indeed, pray that they’re living the American dream 🙏

South Africa has a major problem on this. Mainly because of a failing police
Ladies, gents too, if you own a high horsepower / value car, consider the possibility you might have to ram your way out of a situation like this. Hand-to-hand combat, unarmed and outnumbered is not very appealing in situations like this.
Jack Black is right. Nightmare level stuff
She is a valuable asset so she could scuffle with the kidnappers for a minute mainly because the latter didn't want to cause any damage to the cargo.
These acts will become frequent here
Given how deep into the U.S the cartels are operating, all we need is one kidnapping case or law enforcement or the FBI to ignore or DA's not to press charges to make kidnappings for ransom a common occurrence in the U.S.

She had in her possession the ideal tool to deal with this. A very fast, v10 powered super car that probably has more tire patch on the read end than either of the perps cars have on all four. Many of those cars are AWD. I’m guessing she could have pretty easily pushed either out of the way without a lot of effort and that’s assuming that she let herself get boxed in (as she did) before reacting.
Time to trade the Audi in for a Bulletproof G-Wagon
You mentioned the people that arrived late, but what about the person who was there at the beginning closing the gate. The camera zooms in, so they’re no longer in the angle, but there’s no way they didn’t see/hear all of that since they never left the camera angle before it moved.
If you can’t defend yourself, don’t make yourself a target

A good friend of mine moved to SA to run the country for the company he worked for. He was collected from the airport in an armoured car by his armed personal bodyguard. You can get a firearm/ pistol license relatively easily here in South Africa 🇿🇦! It can be a bit of a lengthy process in regards to paperwork, firearm competency training , etc .Its probably less effort than getting driver’s license, not as easy as the states 🇺🇸though , but doable! Theres are a lot of legal firearm owners here. It’s definitely a must to carry a firearm here , but not everyone does due to the nature of getting a firearm permit or simply not being comfortable owning / carrying a pistol - everyone has there reasons for owning or not owning/ carrying a firearm. We are allowed allow concealed carry here though .
Citizens are allowed two hunting rifles , a shotgun & a pistol for self defence . If you want to own more firearms you have to get sports shooting or dedicated hunting status , then there is no limit on the firearms you may legally own- many people have gone down that route !
Would be cool if this new Sora AI tool could be used to depict an alternate outcome.
