Thank goodness for you! When my mom was a victim of the Grandma Scam the bank manager asked “If I may ask, what is the money for?” she said “no you may not ask me about my money”, withdrew $27,000 and shipped it by FedEx ☹️ which was her 4th shipment, for a grand total of $50,000. All done while her granddaughter was safe and sound in her own home. I wish the bank had notified my brother (the other name on her account) when she withdrew a second large amount in two days 🫤
Keep asking! Send alerts out! Post signs? There’s signs on gift card racks. What about in the bank?

Like people who work in real estate or have their own business like artists and contractors... not taking the call could mean losing money. Then you have some people who work for smaller company's that cannot afford to get each person a work phone, and they have to use their personal phones. While it is nice to say that the answer is simple, just don't answer it, that isn't realistic for many people. People would brag about how they mouthed off to a difficult customer and everyone is always listening. Nice places with a positive atmosphere = polite and helpful staff. These scams hit home recently when I went to visit my elderly uncle. He used to work for Boeing and is no stranger to technology. He fell for a scam where they were asking for gift cards, thankfully the customer service reps advised him against going through with it. He was telling me this as we went out for a walk and my jaw basically dropped. I recommended this channel for him to learn a bit more of the methods used. I never thought he’d ever fall for tele-scams. 🤷‍♂️ Thank you for your work, amigo. It absolutely helps…

I seriously don't get how people even fall for the gift card thing though. Like why would any type of company tell you to pay in gift cards like it's a form of cash? Lol that doesn't even make sense. The fact that people don't even find this slightly weird and then they just go and get the gift cards like it's normal just baffles me

@Natasha Carson Aging takes its toll, physically and mentally. My uncle is a very smart man. Retired aerospace engineer. I was shocked to hear him discuss this with me, but he is getting into his late 80’s now.

My mom almost got scammed, but thankfully I was with her at the time of the call. The scam wasn't an Indian though, the voice sounded American, and the caller ID showed on her cellphone as her local gas company. They had her all worked up thinking she didn't pay her bill in 3 months and they were going to come and shut off the gas. When they started telling her to go get giftcards and bring them to a certain address I told her to hang up.
