This is the first I have heard that a family didn't try to make the perp out to be a saint "he wouldn't hurt nobody".

UPDATE TO
" Do we have a name / mug shot of the perp? "
In the description there are links to news stories, amazing that the family didn't sue the officer however I wonder if a community activist will sue for shooting towards a person running away.
@@rodnabors7364why would you assume the family the family would be paid?
Some of the info is wrong in this video.
1. Det. Coble wasnt struck by the round from the blindfire by the suspect. He was struck after the suspect began firing as he fell down.
2. Det. Coble struck the suspect disabked his legs.
3. The suspect did not run for a mile. He immediately dropped to the ground and rolled into a bush to hide. Neither initial detective saw where he was, hence the delay in finding him.
R. Detective Coble gave himsef medical treatment with a chest seal as the other officer drove him to the hospital.

I should go delete my comment, but I'll leave it up lol. I knew the wounded officer hit him multiple times.

If the police shoot you, and your family apologizes to the police, what tf were you doing with your life?
Kids have autonomy and outside influences. I know some great parents whose adult kids are doing great in some areas, and making embarrassing decisions in others. Results may vary. 🤷🏻♂️
Sadly to see a lose of life always. Everyone is a child of god
Exactly that's rare. Family usually gives a thorough defense of their criminal family member and a rebuke of the officers involved.
I don’t know the details of this particular perp’s life, but the fact of the matter is parents can do absolutely everything right and their kid can still turn out bad.
Are you talking about the police?@@homelessalcoholic2716
Think about how bad of a person you have to be for your family not caring you died. I’m glad the officer is ok and these guy is watching a Michael and Elvis concert live

@@JohnHurt-ym5jq yeah they might even go to Adolf’s art show
I know Elvis loved Gospel music, so I hope he's up there.
4:26 I totally agree with John on this point. How many times have we seen videos of officers even in active gun fights shouting "drop the gun" for the 200th time. In an instant that fleeing person with a gun can shoot in any direction. (as demonstrated in this video)
Sadly this is a wrong take according to the law. A person running with a gun in their hand, in the case where they are running away, does not necessarily give legal justification to use deadly force. Coming from a law enforcement officer. There must be some other action taken that provides justification, this could be the weapon moving upwards or some other type of action or words spoken by the person to show their intent, the law is not on the side of police when it comes to things like this currently
our law is as stupid as it gets..@@Skepticismistheway
Wow, i am shocked. The family actually took accountability for his own actions. Respect to the family.

I’m shocked you spelled all your words correctly, trailer trash normally makes mistakes….
@@skankhunt3624 It also happens near constantly that the family blames the cops.

I'm Aussie, so hand guns are rare as rockin horse shit around here, but a mate got a couple left to him when his Dad died, getting hits on a target isn't as easy as what I seen in movies.

Thank you officer for your hard work. I am thankful you did your duty and found a quick ride to seek treatment. May you and your family be blessed for eternity.
DDC closed the gap quick. Glad to hear the bad guy's spree is over.
I watch Lackluster to get a reminder that there are bad cops out there and ASP to get a reminder that there are also amazing cops (and for the all the lessons).
Yeah man. That’s huge facts.
Thank You Officer, for your service to American Families.
Four cops can fire 300 rounds at a guy 10 yards away and miss. This guy fires over his shoulder while running and gets a direct hit 😂
You can’t count on luck but luck does count sometimes
My stepfather is a retired tattoo artist and he use to associate with gangmembers and hitters so i grew up listening to some of their stories. Mind you I'm Native American navajo tb exact. This one reminds me of how Steve's story was. Steve was a Sureno idk if he's alive anymore but he said he did this running from the opps and shot backwards without looking and he hit and killed one of the dudes and did 11 years in prison for it. Its crazy those luck shots somehow still have your name on it.
Even the family agrees that nothing of value was lost that day.
I live in Nashville... but I don't watch TV so I hadn't heard about this. Glad the officer is getting better ( I hope ) and I am not sorry that we don't have to worry about that one criminal.
When my TV went out I never replaced it. That was 3 years ago. Get much more work done now on my house and vehicles. I just watch news on RUclips on my phone and that's it.

Most men aren't brave enough to be a cop. Thank you for your service, fellas.
Most men would not hide armed, while children get murdered inside a school.
🤣🤣🤣 I don’t buy that for a second….i think it takes a special type of “type a” “egotistical” coward to become a cop and harass/intimidate citizens. lol if they were “real men” , they would join(and stay in) the military. Real training, actually defending the country, and likely really helping people in disaster situations. Cops are just pu$$ies who are terrified of everyone. Hence why there is so many accidental shootings….if they even think they SEE something black or silver…..before you even get a chance to surrender in any way, you’re getting lit up. And when they’re not trying to extort or harass citizens….they just go and beat their wife/gf/bf. (Look up domestic violence among police, 40%+ are guilty)
Most men aren't brave enough to be a delivery truck driver. Thank you for your service, fellas.

@@JohnHurt-ym5jq braver than being a bot.
the reason he did not fire when he saw the gun was probably because of Nashville Officer Delke being indicted for doing so. He fired on a man running away with a gun in his hand also in Nashville and was charged with first degree murder.
Rightfully so. You dont get to gun someone down for having a firearm and trying to get away from you.

I am glad that Det. Coble is doing well. I only question why he was chasing the perp with a taser instead of a drawn gun knowing that perp was stealing guns and had one in his hand?

Hey John and Mike, thanks for the lesson!
You bet!
Well, the only statement from the family reads, "The family said they’re devastated about what happened and are working on getting to Nashville from Florida.". That's not necessarily a devastation regarding what happened to the detective - could be either. 🤔
John I wish I could meet you one day, I watch your videos every day
I read all the articles linked, so you don't have to. The family didn't apologize at all: "The family said they’re devastated about what happened and are working on getting to Nashville from Florida." It did not specify what they were devastated about.

He trained his Daughters to shoot backwards over their shoulders while running from an attacker.
Those girls didn't miss either. Glad this guy wasn't like that.
I'm curious when this happened since there wasn't a date on the footage, was this recent or did this happen several years ago?
First time I ever heard the term "justified" foot pursuit. I guess the supervisors will be terminating them (foot pursuits) as well.
We here in Dallas lost a very brave officer in exactly the same manner. Officer Garrett was on a stakeout after a band of transvestite bar robbers. The gang specialized in “Spanish” bars. By coincidence they were staking out just the right bar when the robbers showed up. The officers went inside after them. All the robbers scattered and while being chased one of them fired a shot back over his shoulder striking officer Garrett in the head. It was a fatal wound. Was a very sad day here in Dallas. Officer Garrett survived several tours in Iraq only to be shot and killed in Dallas.
As always, FF to the one minute mark to skip the ads
@John/Mike- what about the officer in foot pursuit with his taser drawn, rather than his handgun?
We aren’t going to talk about the fact that the officer ran with a taser instead of the sidearm for the whole time?
Seemed like he switched to the sidearm pretty quick. I'm surprised we're not going to talk about the speed of the detective running in gear, with tools, he overtakes the other officer in about 3 strides, and closes at least 30-40 yards of distance on the criminal in less than 30 seconds including jumping a fence. Detective Coble is the bomb, I wouldn't want to run a race against him.
Mike!!!!
Our cars at work stopped getting broken into after this!
Shelbyville here and I feel like it’s appropriate to say “urma gurd that’s so close to here”
Willever is the best cohost of all the folks John has auditioned
Wow, a family that cares about the officer and not their own child damn I love this family I was everyone's family was like this. When they did stupid shit, they weren't supposed to.
I have never been shot, however I have been shot at 30-40 times and I went in with the idea that if I had an arm or leg shot off (we were being shot at with 130mm coastal defense cannon) I had to tourniquet and get out of a flooding compartment by myself. Every time I would go over the needed steps before the shooting started. This was Haiphong Harbor 1972.

Reminds me of Danny DeVito in "Romancing the Stone".
'i dont see so good'
"i already got you" 😂😂😂
I looked through the news links and can't see anywhere that the family indicated that they were "devastated" about the injury to the officer. They only said they were devastated about what happened. I take that to mean, they are devastated that the perp got dead. Did I miss something?
At least he didn’t do that roll like that SF cop 😂
Firing blindly over your shoulder, what an animal😮
Yes; yall make a shirt about Tenn. v Garner and Donut Operator should make one about Penn v Mimms
I remember a similar lesson where the aggressor was winging shots behind him and hit the defender without looking.
this doesn't apply though
criminal hit the cop while falling or on the ground after the cop shot him and immobilised him
john got it all wrong m8
The officer hit was still running faster than the other officer after getting shot 🏃♂️💨
look at that old gold taurus!
I got you now, bang, I’m hit im hit oh no.😂😂
not to far from me nashville 30 mins away
Love the channel and the informative breakdown always! I think you guys misinterpreted this one, however. The gun over the shoulder lacked the proper angle to hit the officer anywhere but the vest. You can clearly gauge the officers reaction too, as he fires multiple times and 'appears' to hit the perp, but clearly visible as he falls is the gun pointed back at the officer while the officer is simultaneously standing to the side, holding the gun out with only his right hand. At this exact moment you can hear bullets fired from the suspects gun, and an almost immediate reaction to getting shot. Seems fairly clear when taking that into consideration and rewatching the video in slow mo. Cheers, guys!
One of our local cops was killed this same way. The suspect fired behind him blindly as he was running away from the cop and it hit the cop in the throat and he died right there on the street. Horrible thing. His wife was my son's school teacher.
This is honestly personally the first time I’ve heard of the family taking accountability for their child’s actions and stupidity instead of defending them to no end trying to get money from the state.

The fact that this guy had a job and though the best recourse was to rob people rather than any sort of legal method is so immature. I might have understood (barely) if he was unemployed and was unable to find work and was trying to feed his family, but this was just sick on his part.
Where are all the people who said you can’t shoot someone in the back?
I didn’t catch the date of the incident but must be some time ago. Detective Coble’s car looks like a 1992 Ford Taurus.
Welcome to undercover work. They drive nondescript shit boxes on purpose.
I’m Mike willevertoday’s video…
Wow 😲
You know he was a REALLY bad person when not even his family is grieving for him and has more sympathy for the officer who got hurt.
As a long time paramedic, I cannot stress enough that running after a penetrating trauma is a terrible idea. You want to SLOW your heart rate down so that you lessen the amount of bleeding. Also, driving an injured patient with a gunshot wound or stabbing wound isn't the greatest idea unless you're a couple of minutes from a trauma center. Start treatment on scene and a paramedic ambulance should arrive within 7-8 minutes. Most ambulances now carry blood, in addition to everything else at our disposal.
You can’t count on luck but sometimes luck counts.
Amazing how quickly they can get every single cop to the hospital but when they shoot someone, they hold them at gunpoint SLOWLY WALK up 10-15 minutes later with 20 guys and rifles. What I notice the most the is I’ve never once seen a video where the cop had to wait for the ambulance.
Wow! For once the family actually did not try to make their son into a saint and did not sue the department to profit off his death! Times are changing man!
You should do a video on The Jonah Hernandez body cam video. WARNING, it is very very graphic
It'll be published on YT next Thursday. Just analyzed it. Brutal stuff.
John, this excerpt from one of your news story links introduces an important side story: "The investigation into the shooting shows that the gun suspected car burglar Delama Casimir used to shoot Coble was stolen from the center console of an SUV parked at an airport area parking business for travelers. The owner of the SUV reported the gun stolen after returning to Nashville on Friday."
So if the gun owner hadn't left his gun in his SUV, or if he had secured it better than he did -- as is his responsibility as a supposed GSSM&P gun owner -- Detective Coble would not have been shot in that pursuit.
Wondering if SUV/Gun guy was charged.
Stolen guns from vehicles are a huge source of guns destined for future crimes. In large metro areas, it is thousands of guns each year.
@@onelifetolive927 Yeah, it's scary. When I took my CCW course three years ago, I got the unsettling feeling that half my classmates were either clueless about general gun safety and keeping their weapons safely stored, or they simply didn't care. Yet they all passed the course, and I shudder to think...
So someone had their gun LOCKED in his car and was victim of a theft and you want that person charged for what? You do know that police keep rifles locked in their cars as well? And they have been stolen as well.
@@mmagscottit’s a common thing coming from more left leaning people. Trying to get the gun owner in trouble for having their gun stolen. In some situations of complete negligence maybe. But this does not need a charge, this person has a horrible take
