Respectfully disagree gentlemen. I retired nearly a decade ago from mostly rural jurisdictions, was a firearms instructor, then did a couple years as a PI and continued training to civilians, so here goes: Who else was in the van? If the officer had the plate# and as evidenced by the fellow blue response, would have corralled the shooter in short order. Speculation I know, I know, but the risk was huge - and the full-on shooting reply by the officer was more like panic fire. Again, the outcome was positive so tell me to stfu if you wish, glad no one was injured; keep up the ASP program. 👍🙏

Great video really shows how sane some officers are. Like you never know if after they surrender if they're going to retaliate again. Idn. I don't always agree with your videos but thank you for what you do. This is extremely important for society and people like me.

Practicing moving your feet is extremely important. In Washington, the CJTC Armed Security qualification requires you to pivot 90° before drawing facing both left and right and also from behind physical barrier, such as a 55 gallon drum or an imaginary wall moving side to side.

As someone who has struggled with alcohol this is heartbreaking to see. Sometimes people do some stupid crap on alcohol. So glad no one was hurt.

That cop has nerves of steel. Notice when the perp is climbing out of the window, the cop has his gun trained on him and his hand never moved. Steady as a rock. Most videos like this, the cop's hands are shaking, the voice is quivering and they're breathing like they just ran a marathon. This has got to be the best cop out there.

So - I have to acknowledge that this guy now has an opportunity to speak the truth to felons that are being paroled with regard to making decisions that can and will affect their lives going forward.
The Officer did an amazing job by exercising proper judgment and reflex and I believe there are valuable lessons on both ‘sides’ that can be gleaned from this.

very rarely do I see a stop like this handled perfectly. Approached from passenger side, check. stayed back from the door so he didn't get shot, check. Ran out of danger zone before returning fire, check. Took perp in unharmed after he surrendered, check. This was textbook and should be shown to all officers in training.

This happened to my brother. Thank God he wasn’t hit. He returned fire and the perp took off. Turns out the car was stolen. It was later found abandoned with blood in it. No idea what happened to the perp nor do I care as long as my brother was not hurt. Choices!
