  • This is a fast and easy way that works on all types of wood, and costs next to nothing. I obviously utilize many different methods for both felling trees and splitting wood. But showing one at a time seems to be the easiest to digest. You do NOT need to be built like me or be muscular to be good at splitting wood. That is from other endeavors of mine. BUT if you would also like to workout and eat like me...I have a masters degree in physiology and my app is very inexpensive. dose.fit is the website for my app. And if you are just here to enjoy youtube....I am very happy to have you as a subscriber.

Does wood need to be dry/seasoned before you can chop it? I also read you can chop green wood pretty easily as well.
I was attempting to chop some recently and I know it’s not seasoned at all but it’s not green either. Guess somewhere in between but it’s not easy. Or maybe you just make it all look too easy 😂

The Fiskars 8 lb splitting maul is NOTHING like the Collins or Truper...or any other Maul. It DOES have a synthetic handle yes but the handle is nothing like the other brands.
I've used two others, Collins and Truper and Fiskars is in a League of it's own.
First off, like you said, break it they will replace it.
Second, with the vibration dampening handle, it feels so much better and less tiring. Third, it just plain
Works better, possibly due to the different design of the head; it is like no other Maul head in existence and if you try one, I am pretty sure that you will finally have found your favorite Weapon of Wood Splitting Mass Destruction!!!
      $69.00 bucks online.
You can buy three of them for one of those Helkos you hate so much. If you break it, you have a back up reading l ready to go.
Break it, the it to where you bought it and get a new one...or just email a pic to Fiskars. At least that's what I did for my geared lopper my son broke.

You are so proportional. You appear solid instead of puffy. You're a white marble type Michelangelo physique. I think you took it sooo close to the line past where it turns into an anamorphic unnatural appearance. Are you aware that most people you see will be frightened by you. Only 2% of the population is dense like you and handsome. Your videos are comforting. Thank you. I'm a little frightened by you too.

One thing you might try tinkering with is rotating the head slightly (5-10 deg) off of vertical. When it strikes the face of the log it rotates a bit because the center of mass isn't directly above the point of impact. I found this helps apply a prying action to the log as well as reduce the amount of sticking. (The effect is greatest for narrower axe heads vs wider splitting/maul heads)

Have you ever tried to split wood in a tire? :)

    • @howtogetoutofbabylon8978
      @howtogetoutofbabylon8978 Год назад

      I love it!
I lay down a piece of greenwood like siding and then I put railroad ties on that this keeps the impact on the would not going into the ground and if I miss I don't hit the ground I don't hit a rock or anyting. The tire keeps wood up just like his chain deal does.
chain and bungee cord works great too. I'm fact, I'm going to get a set up, bc lot easier to carry the chain and bungee cord around and they would fit multiple sizes of rounds.
I got a real big one had to go down in the woods and bring a big 22 inch tire up.
I rolled the part of the way but it was Heavy to carry a up a steep hill where I couldn't roll it!!!
Also with the tire one time I started into one and I spend it out it was all jammed in the tire... Took me a looong time to get it out!!
I've talked myself out of the tires now. I'm ready to change my ways!!!
