We started heating with a wood stove in 1975 when I was 11 years old , every single piece of wood that went into that stove was split by me , for over 25 years , even after I got married and moved out. Pops fell and cut the rounds , I split , my 2 Brothers hauled the wood to the truck. We worked our tails off , and let me tell you , I sure do miss those beautiful days out in the woods with my Dad and my Brothers. Those memories are priceless to me. Have a beautiful day my Brothers and Sisters , live YOUR dreams , make memories. Wishing the very best for you all and Buckin and the Buckin Family. Be Safe , Be Kind .

I love it! You load a truck up just like I do! They are meant to haul things, that's their purpose in life, so let them do what they were meant to! Just wanted to shout out to everyone involved in tree work at any level! Climbers, fallers, firewood gatherers, tree planters, forestry workers, and even to backyard hobbyists who go at things at their own pace! Love to all! Take care everyone!

    **PLEASE READ**
    Dear wood man,
I am 27 years old and my fiancé and I got the keys to our new house on Christmas Day last year. We live in Southern California and moved from a suburb to the Alpine forest mountains. Our house is on propane. I’ve never owned a chainsaw and especially an axe before in my entire life. When I found out that our house has a beautiful vintage wood stove and it gets really cold up here in the mountains, I began interested in heating our home with wood. I stumbled across your video trying to learn how to warm my family using wood. It’s now the beginning of June and I have 2 cords of BLACK OAK. All of which I fell, bucked and split by myself. I’ve also got another cord of juniper seasoning as well. I now own two chainsaw and although they’re both stihl, one is from the 70’s 😉 I also now own 5 axes, one double bit I burned the handle hung it and oiled it with the WATCO. My family, my son and my grandson will now know how to swing an axe and warm our family with the beauty that is wood. They’ll have tools that I pass down as well suck as axes, oil squirters, hand files and chainsaws.
If it wasn’t for you brother I would not have known a single thing about wood, let alone splitting knotty oak with an axe.
Please, when you read this, understand that you have touched a young family man all the way in Southern California and our home will be warm forever because of Buckin Billy Ray.
    -be kind

Hey buckin, thanks for the new way to cut large rounds. Just upgrades my saw situation. Went from a little ms250 I've used for 5 years. Bought a husky 562xp yesterday and can't wait to give it a go. That little stihl kept my family warm in the winter and in the savings from not buying wood for 5 years I've paid for my new saw 3 times over with the amount we burn. The upgrade is well deserved to save time and my back. Buy once, cry once. Cheers Buckin, be blessed.

    WOW!
That's hero wood for splitting. I have mostly split hardwood. Maple beech ash.
Occasionally have tied into easy stuff like poplar.
Mandatory wedge and sledge for the big hardwoods. Also had wire wrapped the last 5-6 inches below the axe head to protect the handle and give a bit more weight. Handle lasted over 40 years for this amateur.
Deadly good aim going on there.

I bucked it with a Husqvarna 395 XP with a 36" bar and full house chain. I hit so many nails also I hit a rock that the tree grew around it was 10 feet up in the wood just below a large Y - Fork of the branch. I was not sure how I was going to bust it up and split it. Now I see the proper way to do it. Thank you Awesome tip Buckin Billy Ray. Gotta get me some more tee shirts

Man you have a nice tune on that one! Sounds just right. Just a touch of overrev. She's running clean!
I'm telling you .I'll send you some power plus Manhattan oil. You will feel a difference and your pistons and head will actually clean themselves from carbon usually.
I did some rounds almost that big for fun and a workout with my helko.
I heard it hunting for fuel!! Ok. From road course racing 2 strokes..you want your engine to idle. Important..so when your way up in the revs and you get out of the throttle it continues to deliver fuel +OIL. Idling is a bigger deal to 2 strokes than most people know. Not telling you Buckin just throwing it out there for anyone that doesn't know.
From a guy that never burnt a motor down from his tune!
Been all around the U.S. on most the well known race tracks.
