I think a lot of the old songs played on the Unplugged album sounded better than the studio versions because Paul had reached his peak as a singer at that point. Rock Bottom is the best example.

I think you're right 100%. That unplugged version of Rock Bottom is killer. And when the original guys came back, it was great to see the band actually have fun. I saw the band (with Tommy and Eric) do an unplugged set when they helped open a casino in the LA area and they were loose and relaxed and it was a great time. I'd love a small tour like that.

Two Timer is a great song!

I only had one Kiss album. (Destroyer) I played it a lot. (and I just now played it again.)

Gary I thoroughly enjoyed this rundown. I too enjoy Dynasty and was glad to see it in the list. I differ with you on the Hotter Than Hell cover but that’s what makes these things interesting. I’ve seen KISS twice in the 70s, twice in the 80s, the Reunion tour 96 and the end of the Road Tour. I have even seen Paul in my neighborhood Studio City hardware store. Ace will always be my favorite member and the original lineup will always be the gold standard but KISS is like sex, evens it’s bad it ain’t that bad. 🤘🏼

Great list. Dynasty top 3 but everything else is worthy of the top 10. Rock on my man.

I’m kinda curious about his opinions on the bottom 10 of the KISS albums , the solo , the original singles on greatest hits albums

Great idea for a future video. I can tell you that Music From The Elder isn't my least favorite (but it'd be on that list).

Saw them twice, 1988 club show and opening night of Psycho Circus

    5. Music From The Elder
    6. Unmasked

An Elder fan, eh? I don't hate it as much as a lot of fans, but it'd never be in my top ten. I do love Unmasked though and I'm not sure why it's so hated.

Revenge wasn't the heaviest since Creatures. Lick it up is heavier and much better than Revenge and I think it's a better album than Creatures as well. I think that people that disagree should put on the headphones and crank it!

    • @GaryTalksTV

I think the fact that both Lick It Up and Revenge had Vinnie Vincent writing songs on the album just shows how great he was a songwriter for sure.

    1. Dressed to kill 2. Rock n Roll Over 3. Love Gun 4. Dynasty 5. Unmasked 6. Destroyer 7. KISS 8. Hotter than Hell 9. Psycho Circus

    • @GaryTalksTV

Solid list. I'm shocked you dig Psycho Circus that much. I really wanted to like it and it has a few killer songs on it, but it never lived up to my expectations.

    • @CoreyLeland

I really like the title track and "We are One" on the strength of those two songs....it made my list...and I probably on any given day could put any of my top three in the number 1 spot. Dressed to Kill is very high for me because of "Love her all I can" and I do love "'Room Service." But Rock n Roll Over has maybe the two brightest spots on any KISS album for me..."Mr. Speed" and "Hard Luck Woman"....I tend to like the mellower stuff which is why "Shandi, Tomorrow" make "Unmasked" one I reach for more than I ever would many of the others...Never really loved Destroyed because I bought Alive II before I got Destroyer and enjoyed those version of the classics better...Happiness and Peace....

@@CoreyLeland I'm a big fan of Unmasked as well. I'm not sure why it gets such a bum wrap (other than the cover which I think is the worst). Psycho Circus landed just outside my top ten based on the songs you mentioned plus I always really liked Raise Your Glasses and Into The Void.

My first concert was KISS on the destroyer tour in 1976 , nobody has ever topped em for spectacle , my ears rang for 3 days. Destroyer is the best !!!

I can't even imagine what it was like to see them then. I've seen videos of course, but nothing can top that spectacle live.

😊 It is just an Opinion, but this is my Top 10 of KISS Albums:
    10.) Revenge (1992)
09.) Creatures of the Night (1982)
    08.) Dynasty (1979)
    07.) Unmasked (1980)
    06.) Ace Frehley (1978)
    05.) Kiss (1974)
    04.) Love Gun (1977)
    03.) Sonic Boom (2009)
    02.) Destroyer (1976 )
01.) (Music from) The ELDER (1981) my First ...
😊 And this is my Top Ten of KISS tracks:
10.) I was made for lovin' you (1979)
    09.) I still love you (1982)
    08.) Beth (1976)
    07.) 100.000 Years (1974)
    06.) Deuce (1974)
    05.) A World without Heroes (1981)

    02.) Samurai Son (2015)
    01.) Ozone (Ace Frehley / 1978)
10.000 Volts is for me better than the 'Monster' (2012) or all other Albums that didn't made my Top Ten of KISS Albums and in my Opinion *KISS* without Peter Criss & the Original Spaceman ACE FREHLEY is *PISS* (Sorry Paul ...)😅
*KISS* are *Ace Frehley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, Paul Stanley, Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent, Bruce Kulick and Marc St. John* 😊

    • @GaryTalksTV
      @GaryTalksTV  6 месяцев назад +1

I really LOVE 10,000 Volts and I have to agree with you that it's better than Monster for sure. I'm shocked you like Elder that much, but I don't hate it as much as a lot of people do as it probably falls square in the middle of the band's output for me and there are a lot of worse albums. On Sonic Boom though we'll just have to agree to disagree lol. Keep rocking!

@@GaryTalksTV thanks a lot 🤗 I''d written why. 1975 *Alive!* had been the X-mas-Gift from my Mother andI loved it, 1981 I started to work (born' 64) and the first Album I bought from my own earned money had been *KISS* (Music from) The ELDER and that's my reason why it's my #1: *my Memory's* 🤭 and I'm a big *KISS - Fan* since 1975 because of the genious Version of *SHE* *Cold Gin* & *100.000 Years* Live

@@EikeMenzel Awesome story! I don't know how anyone can honestly separate those type of memories from why they truly love something. It's what makes it special.

The Elder and Unmasked Album covers are horrible

While Elder is terrible, I can almost excuse it because I suppose they had a vision with that album. Unmasked though...WTF?

Paul and Aces solo records would be 2 and 3 , stopped listening to them and most metal after love gun seeing for the vapid adolescent crap it is.

    • @GaryTalksTV
      @GaryTalksTV  7 месяцев назад

While I enjoy the vapid adolescent crap that most bands put out in the 80s (as I was a vapid adolescent at the time and now it reminds me of those days), I have to agree on Paul and Ace's albums, with Ace's being superior but Paul's being damn good. I don't think I could rank them higher than Kiss or Destroyer for sure, but Ace might be #3 and then Paul would be somewhere in the top 10 around Dynasty.
