@@erniegutierrez410 When they came out in 1974, I was 19. Most of their fans were bubble gum chewing kids, who were still in their comic book and cartoon years. Their music is mediocre at best and the only record I bought was a 45 rpm single "I Was Made For Loving You" with "Snowblind" I believe on the flip side. Without their costumes and makeup, they never would have made it. They tried to ditch that stuff but quickly got back into their clown outfits.
I don’t think Slash HATES KISS! He’s been seen wearing KISS shirts several times and he’s friends with Ace Frehley and sites him as an influence. I think, like Axl, he just prefers early KISS and not so much their later years

Nikki said Gene dresses like a clown , wrote some good songs a long time ago , I’ve heard he’s called him a mediocre musician and a poon hound . The funny thing is add junkie to that list and he’s described himself .
Nikki saying Gene Simmons dresses like a clown, says he’s a mediocre musician and a junkie This sounds more like a projection than an actual criticism of a man who never so much as got drunk, wrote some of rocks greatest songs and bass lines, and as for the clown comment… let’s just say Kiss looked cooler in spandex and makeup than Motley Crue ever did
@@Pumper_of_Maws Nikki never called Gene a junkie . I said if you added junkie to everything he said he would be describing himself . Sorry if I worded that strangely.
He is. He's said how he and Steven Adler used to skip school and rock out to KISS albums at Adler's house. This is covered in the video, but Slash, who was Saul Hudson at the time, even auditioned for KISS after Ace Frehley left the band. You don't audition for a band that you don't like and respect. Slash also got up on stage with Rob Zombie, Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke, and others to perform KISS songs when KISS was being honored on VH1 Rock Gods. Another interesting note is that Eddie Van Halen really wanted to take Frehley's spot in KISS when Frehley quit, which was also around the same time as the 1984 album release and when EVH was feuding with David Lee Roth over creative direction. Gene Simmons actually talked EVH out of it and told him there's no way he could leave a band at the peak of its popularity, which he also founded. Gene urged EVH to stick it out in the band. I've heard Paul Stanley consistently say that Slash was a really nice guy who was very talented. Paul said Slash was only 17 at the time and they felt like he was just too young and inexperienced and they weren't sure he could handle the pressures of a grueling world wide tour at that point in his life. What the video doesn't mention is that GNR actually wanted Paul to produce their debut album. Paul said he really liked the GNR demos and wanted to make some minor changes, but it pissed GNR off so they went with a different producer.
I saw the tour with Aerosmith here in Indianapolis. Having KISS open was a mistake. They put on one HELL of a show . We were all exhausted and our throats were raw when Aerosmith came out and did their garage band act . Boring as could be . People chanted KISS , some left , most sat back in their seats . I don’t remember if they said good night, I do know the band left the stage and never did an encore .
I saw 4 band concert in Toronto back in 89. It was Faster pussycat, Slaughter Whitesnake and KISS. KISS filled in for a band i cant remember and whitesnake because it was last minute, no pyro, bombs, etc were included. And Whitesnake demanded top billing. That was a fatal mistake. After the 3rd encore.. yes 3. Paul Stanley walks out and tells everyone thats it cuz Coverdale is having a fit. KISS blew them off stage and by the end of Vais solo the place was half empty
That’s an emotional response due to your band getting upstaged by a better band. Aerosmith was great, kiss was great. Sorry Aerosmith was the better band.
@robfdavis Amen brother. I saw that same tour in Detroit and man I thought the same thing. It was my first time seeing Aerosmith. I was pumped to see them. Had heard so much about how much energy Steven Tyler had. He did match Paul Stanley as far as moving around. Joe Perry played better than Tommy Thayer. Ace Frehley was not at the Detroit show. But your right 👍. My God! Aerosmith had no pyro or anything!!! It was visually boring and they did a shorter set. Never had any interest to see them (Aerosmith) again.
If Aerosmith puts their music first before the show then what was the excuse when kiss outperformed them musically and the show was incredible when they played together
KISS. They opened up a new world for many millions of young fans. Escape into a fantasy land full of sight and sound. Their music wasn't brilliant but it got the job done. Congratulations to KISS for being highly successful for 50 yrs!!
I like kiss better than all these bands but at the end of the day couldn't give a fuck about any rockstars opinions or comments. They aren't role models. Just people who are paid to play music.
It's hard to imagine anyone playing (of all genres) rock and roll looking down on kiss. In the words of the great paul stanley, "we're not painting the Mona Lisa."
That's why in 2023 Slash played a GNR show wearing a Kiss t-shirt. Kiss is one of America's biggest and most successful bands. And it is the music that had to also be good or the make up alone would not have taken them 50 years. Gene is an underrated solid bass pla lovs or hate Kiss influenced tons of bands.
Yet The Bee Gees, had twenty-nine Top 40 hits, fifteen Top 10's and nine number ones and KISS has had 0 number 1 hits and only 2 in top 10. KISS is and was one of the most overrated bands of all time besides The Beatles.
Guitar players tend to like Kiss. I've seen videos of guitarist ranking their favorite Kiss riffs. I play guitar and a lot of Kiss riffs are more complicated than the detractors think they are.
@@jguitarz1 Shows what you know other than statistics. The Beatles hold the record this day for the most records sold. Even in 2024, people STILL buy their records and recordings, and their original Capitol label LPs are highly sought after especially the "Butcher" cover. Overrated? You wouldn't know good music if it poked your ear out.
I saw KISS and Aerosmith in Indianapolis. KISS opened and as soon as KISS was done people started walking out trying to give their seats away to anyone that would take them.
I guess some people just like fake music and a show. They don't like to actually hear a guy really sing and actually do his own acrobatics. Don't know what to say to that.I guess there's a lot of people that are into the whole show. Because it's been proven that they don't even sing or play. The instruments anymore as much as they used to probably in the 70s.There's a time when you gotta say hanging up it's over. Is Aerosmith actually plays their instruments and Stephen Tyler actually still has a good voice. He doesn't need to have recordings. So I have no idea why people would leave after kiss. If you're a big kiss fan I don't mean to bust your a** but I mean, what's his face It
Same situation in ATL. KISS blew up the place and then 1/3 of the people left and there was Aerosmith on a stage absolutely engulfed in smoke, debris and an uninterested audience! Lol
@@robertkiley8444 Ik Paul sang to a track on the end of the road tour, but they all played their guitars, bass and drums ( I believe the piano for Beth was a 50/50 thing, Singer sometime played or didn’t. Also Steven Tyler uses a track to hit those high notes, like on dream on…. Which is fully understandable
As a person who goes to concerts a lot i didnt even like KISS until i saw them live. I didnt grow up with their music and liked some of the bands inspried by them more. But paying the same money to see KISS vs someone else at an arena, KISS has always been the best bang for the buck when it comes to concerts.
@stefanssmellsvictory105 honestly I loved the explosions, moving platforms, makeup, fire, blood, confetti, and Pyro it's such a good show. Like I said I didn't even care about their music growing up but I like a handful of singles now
I saw KISS 3 times in the mid to late 70’s. To be honest I had no idea about them the first time and stood about 15’ from Paul. I found them to be fun, a bit frightening (the blood stuff), entertaining with always a memorable show. I thought their music was good.
I'm a KISS fan, and I can understand people's disdain for them. They are more entertainers than anything, but to say that they are not musicians is kind of an unfair statement. In 1978, each band member released a solo album. Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley had the best ones. Paul Stanley's was bluesy with a lot of guitar rifts, not only from his own playing but guitarist Bob Kulick as well. Aside from his music style, Paul Stanley could sing like it was nobody's business. When he does his solo tours, he disassociates himself from KISS. And let's face it, not too many mainstream artists had the privilege of performing Phantom of the Opera in Toronto. Ace Frehley's guitar playing was a bit weird, but he was technical for that time period. He also had a successful solo career after leaving KISS. Peter Criss was a bit more mellow. His inspirations definitely lie with big band and classical music--something you would listen to while doing your math homework. It's calming and laid back. I wasn't too impressed with Gene Simmons' solo album. It seemed to be a bit more of a 'Beatles inspired' KISS album, rather than his own personal style of music. KISS held their own during the 80s--after taking the make-up off. They had a great drummer and lead guitarist. It definitely benefitted KISS because Paul Stanley knew how to pick good musicians.
Aerosmith played with Britney Spears and I found it blasphemy. Rush and Styx on the other hand opened for KISS and loved the experience. Rush had issues with Aerosmith and refused Rush a soundcheck the 50 shows they did. Styx upstaged Aerosmith in 1977 and Aerosmith fans threw M80s at Aerosmith after Styx mopped the floor with them. In fact Dennis DeYoung said opening up for KISS was the shot in the arm to help The Grand Illusion album explode and John Panozzo was influenced by Peter Criss to have a drum kit move to the center of the stage and Styx used rising platforms on subsequent tours.
@@rrdream2400 Are you mad as in bonkers? Aerosmith are sellouts. I lost all respect for Aerosmith and when I hear them now I turn off the radio. Steven Tyler as a judge on American Idol? Geddy Lee would not resort to that nonsense and neither would Roger Waters.
Geddy pretty much said that KISS taught them HOW to be performers . They loved touring with KISS . They hated touring with Aerosmith and Geddy said as much in his book.
@@davidbailey6397 Even Dennis DeYoung shared the stories of how KISS subconsciously helped Styx bring more theatrics into their stage show. John Panozzo used a moving drum riser on The Main Event 1978/79 Tour for his drum solo which would see his kit move to the front of the stage (he saw Peter Criss with one when Styx opened up for KISS in 1977 and was floored) and JY And Tommy Shaw stood on a riser which rose as they rocked out the ending of Renegade after John’s drum solo and Chuck Panozzo joined his brother at his riser. Dennis DeYoung had his piano rise as he played his intro solo on Lady from underneath the stage to above his keyboards. He even said KISS should have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame based on the ability to perform in platform boots alone and their combination of rock and roll and theatrics.
@@TJR-ClassicRockCorner0124Bro, I’m the furthest thing from an Aerosmith fan but KISS are the biggest sellouts in rock n roll and they’re even proud of it. So Gene appearing on celebrity apprentice is rock n’ roll? You think appearing in Scooby Doo cartoons isn’t selling out? Nothing says rock n roll like slapping your name on mediocre restaurant chain, I’m sure Roger Waters loves that idea.
I think some musicians were envious because KISS was not the most musically talented, but were creative geniuses who ripped out their heart on stage and handed it to you. This may have bothered some. Not many people can play a guitar like Santana, but no need to bash KISS. It's just so unnecessary.
I'm not so certain that "genius" played a role. I'm far more inclined to believe that some nepotism was in play...like someone had an "uncle" in "the biz". I know...sounds crazy, huh?
@@mtnvortexNepotism can only get you so far. Maybe it got them on stage, but their creative genius was what made their shows so much better than everyone else's and it's what kept people coming back.
@@Lockfreak123 Creative genius? its not genius. Stop using that word when you dont even know its meaning. KISS is a gimmick not genius and -they are just a circus act and we all know it doesnt take much brains to entertain kids and teenagers Get fireworks, all sorts of pyrothecnics, lights and I can pick my nose with all those things goingn on in the background and kids will clap and pay money. Nepotism goes a long way. Its not just to get on stage but also keep you there with media praising a turd. One Adam Sandler is still relevant despite not making a good movie almost all his career for 30+ years. Kiss has been dead and brought back several times while other people's careers would have been dead only because of nepotism. So ofc now they are "legends" because of longevity and have been mooching on that since the 80s.
Gosh, between Carlos Santana staring at his feet the whole time in two chord hell, Motley Crue playing so poorly that people think they're playing to tracks, Guns N Roses struggling to get through 30 year old songs, and Kiss lip synching the old chestnuts everyone wants to hear; I don't know which show to avoid first... Probably the Bob Dylan Gospel Explosion... yeah... Couldn't pay me enough, lol.
@@CassiusMorrisOfficial carlos santana is in 2 chord hell ? seems loki hasn't spent much time in the late 60's early 70's. ( he may only think santana was from the 90's.)
One of the best songs Kiss ever made for me was Sword and Stone. It wasn't put on their Crazy Nights album because the producer Ron Nevison didn't like it. A band called BonFire also recorded a version of that song . Kiss also recorded a great cover version of The Ramones hit Do You remember Rock n Roll Radio
Not a KISS fan myself, but FWIW, Geddy Lee generally still speaks favorably about KISS. KISS was instrumental in helping Rush in the early days. And I’ve heard Geddy praise KISS’s work ethic to put on a show.
Notice that a man of musical depth like Geddy doesn't praise the actual music though, which is the diametric opposite of Rush music. Neil Peart must have cringed secretly at KISS lyrics! But he was a gentleman and didn't say anything.
Why should I hate KISS?! They’re amazing, they produced so much good music back then, in my opinion they’re now just too old for performing on stage etc.
how so with Aerosmith? If they were jealous or threatened by them why would they want Ace and Peter to be in the band when they toured together? Most KISS fans wanted the original band and that would have been more of a threat, not less. And saying their music came 2nd and was more like a soundtrack to the show is pretty accurate and not necessarily and insult.
I saw Aerosmith in the 80s. Tyler did his best impression of a drunk Jim Morrison. Laying on stage mumbling. They had to restart 3 songs. And I swore I’d never waste money on them again.
Axl Rose is the biggest piece of S#it in rock music. And living off one huge album and a double album that sold great off that debut but is a mixed bag. Then they burned out
Dude. I just found you again after 10-15 years? I LOVED Creatures of the Net and the one after that (was it the Cassius Morris show back then? Ari Shaffir, Joey Diaz, Ace Frehley, etc.?). It has been forever, and I am super happy to find your content again.
saw KISS "open" for Aerosmith twice that tour...and both times, the same thing happened. As soon as KISS left the stage...half the audience started making their way for the exits. By the time Aerosmith ripped into their third song...the venue was less than half full. Or should i say "half empty
Carlos Santana is right, Gene Simons is an entertainer that plays bass and hides on make up, Santana is a music rock band with other musical elements like, latin, latin jazz with African and Caribbean influences, with that said there is my personal opinion. Great review and a new subscriber as well.
How come Santana need guest artists to sing their songs, like Rob Thomas? Carlos Santana might be a great guitarist but can't sing for shit (or else he would front Santana rather than use guest vocalists). At least Gene Simmons can sing as well as play guitar.
Paul and slash got through that long ago. Slash, duff and izzy were kiss fans. After they made up, slash has spoken good about them and even performed at a kiss tribute show. Hes also good buds with ace and has played on aces records. As for axl, he was a kiss fan of the og lineup. He didnt start hating until he wanted paul to produce their record and paul wanted to make changes he didnt like.
Not a big fan if Stanley's tendency to criticise just about everyone and go on like a bitter old queen, but in this case, I get it. Slash was bagging out Kiss as a cartoon band. Stanley's point was that after all this time, Slash going on stage with old jeans and a top hat is nothing more than a costume as well. I agree and have always thought the same thing. You see multimillionaires going on stage dressed like hobos in torn clothes and to me, it's no less of a costume than Kiss. It's an image.
@@MickC2167 The difference is, Kiss changes their costume every tour because they KNOW it's a costume. Slash has been sporting the same hat sunglasses and cigarette for over 40-years, and doesn't think it's a costume. We get it, it's a look, but people remember his look more than his music.
I dunno, First time I heard Rock And Roll All Night, I had no idea what they looked like. I thought the Rock And Roll Over cover was an artistic choice. Had no idea what they looked like before I clicked with their music. In other words I was a fan of their music first.
Their "music" alone would have never endured. Such empty calorie junk rock compared to the Boston, Kansas, Rush, etc of that time. And those guys were not trying to be star personalities either. It was about their MUSIC. Most people barely know what the members of those bands looked like but the music is totally timeless.
I love the original Kiss, the incarnations for the last decades are just a cover band, and there are better cover bands of Kiss than the grandpa's now playing.
Kiss stole the makeup idea from the New York Dolls. without the makeup, Kiss doesn't become the major hit they were in Japan in the early / mid 70's. they and their manager bill aucoin were broke after the 3rd album. the japanese love Kabuki theater which has the characters wearing makeup to represent characters. in 76 somewhere in radio land , Beth was played by mistake and garnered enough requests to put it on radio playlists and that (along with Alive! being released) helped push their record sales well above prior album amounts.
@@sicfrynut kiss didnt steal the idea from anyone. They were inspired by other bands. No one looked or sounded like kiss. They also took live performances to another level with pyro. After alive, kiss took off and never looked back. In japan in 77, kiss broke the beatles attendance record for most nights played. The rest is kisstory!
I did a Meet and Greet with them and actually sang Room Service with them at the M&G. Paul Gave me his guitar pick and said I was awesome and Gene said "You weren't even nervous and I replied, " I waited 40 fucking years for this " We laughed and fist bumped each other and he sign a picture I had of him
KISS wouldn’t have made it without their shtick (and good for them for coming up with that). But what really turns people off is how ridiculously they market and shill stuff to their fan base. I mean, who doesn’t want to be buried in a KISS coffin, amiright?
Kiss coffin? I want one! Don't be mad at them because YOU didn't think of it first. Besides, It was the music that gave them longevity, not the costumes. You can't see a costume on the radio, dummy. If they didn't wear the getup and not have the stage show, they would just be another Rock band, but it was their show that separated them from the crowd and that made them famous. So don't hate on them because they did it all first.
Funny you mention GnR, Crue and Aerosmith, groups that other bands hate because they are punks who are horrible if you are on the same bill as them. Rush talks about Aerosmith not allowing them to have sound checks, Metallica had their problems with GNR refusing to go on after Hetfield was burned by pyrotechnics, and Crue was just out of their minds on drugs all the time. On the other hand, Rush has had nothing but praise for Kiss, saying the band and their crew bent over backwards so Rush could put on a good show as an opener.
I don't hate Kiss because I never was forced to listen to them. They barely got any radio airplay. Their only real hit was Beth, and that is not only their only good song, but it's a great song. I only hate bands that I had to hear all the time when I didn't want to.
I know the band has put out reasons for doing it. But when I found out and had noticed it the very first listen to it with friends. That they dubbed in fills, audience noise, and studio harmonies on their 'Live', albums. That was the beginning of me looking at them as only a good band with some goid songs. But it dropoed my rating of them. Its like other bands. If Kiss hadn't had the marketing due of their gimmick make up and stage show. Like so many other bands they likely would have just faded out to not be heard of again after the 10 -15 year mark( which of course RUclips has rekindled the hearing of so many).
I worked security on the Aerosmith/KISS tour. Reading comments about KISS opening & after their set crowd leaving not waiting for Aerosmith is the biggest bullshit I have read. From the start of the tour in August through the end of that tour in October both bands had solid crowds. Nobody left etc etc
If I hadn't rode to the show with a friend Ida left to. They best part of their show was Tyler busting his ass trying to do his little flip. I've not given a f**k bout Aerosmith since
There are two types of people on this Earth those that don't get Kiss and those that are jealous. Why not add up the $ money $ Kiss has made in the last 45 years. Add up the fans they have all over the world. . And count how many songs and albums cassette and 8 tracks they have produced. Add up the live shows Kiss has performed. And finally Add up the years they managed to stay together without reports of drug or alcohol overdoses. II rather have a Kiss ticket than tickets to see all the bands that said negative things about a band that I bet they at one time bought an album or went to see them live. ... Hypocrites they are.
It's a well known fact that most bands that have gone on tour with KISS, were treated very well and have HUGE respect for them. This video brings up some small hiccups that very few bands and performers had with KISS. Aerosmith is a legendary band, but they can't compete with a live KISS show. The only bands that could compete with a live KISS show, would be: VH w/DLR (77 - 84), RUSH, Post 2000 IRON MAIDEN with their giant, theatrical stage show, maybe ACDC in the mid 80's..... Maybe Queensryche Operation Mindcrime Tour..(88) I can't think of any other bands that can compete.. and this includes every current band that's out there today... not a chance.. and..Yes, for KISS, the music is secondary to the show, but that doesn't mean the music sucks. KISS had far more than a gimmick. They had two of the hardest working Rock Stars in the history of Rock Bands, solid, anthemic song writing, multiple platinum albums and 4 guys singing lead vocals in their concerts.. along with live harmonies being sung as well. Name one Rock band, besides the Beatles, who have all the members singing lead vocals in their concerts. Oh.. and I forgot to mention 24 studio albums and a 50 year career.. which, right there, puts them in the upper elite of all Rock bands for all time.. so.. yeah.. there's a lot of jealous haters out there for sure.. When you dominate like KISS did for 5 decades, I guess it's like Stanley said, "The greatest revenge.... is success.."
So what does Gene Simmons fluffer tool side gig pay nowadays? Van Halen and AC/DC light years above your eighth grade idols. Neil Peart is amazing but Russia is a band is without a doubt the most overrated group in history. Every fucking song sounds the same thing iron maiden and Queensrÿche are a completely different genre and crowd. As a harsh but accurate generalization, kiss fans don’t know jack shit about music.
The whole KISS/Aerosmith tour was initially supposed to be an all original KISS, and the two bands were to trade off nights as opener. It went back and forth for a while, and Aerosmith took the lead spot every night as Joe Perry stated that he refused "to open for any KISS that Ace Frehley isn't playing in". Tyler has ALWAYS hated KISS for the fact that KISS outsold and outshined Aerosmith and everyone else between '76-'79. Joe Perry wasn't dissing KISS when he talked about them going a more visual route, he was just contrasting the differences - he has said on a number of occassions that he likes KISS, and loves Ace.
When I was 10 years old Kiss influenced me to play the drums. Now I am 58. I listened to Destroyer the other day. The breathing fire and spitting blood aged much better than the music.
And what about the Rolling Stones WTF They’re still touring, but You don’t say anything about that, or the Who. Let’s face it, time goes on for Everyone.
COVID restrictions hindered their world tour. They were supposed to finish in 2020 but the pandemic meant that they didn't finish their world tour until 2024.
Gene Simons is from the generation of silent denial and drinking away or praying away your problems . The truth is each generation has their own approach to mental health .

Say what you will about them. They have been huge influences and helped jump start many great bands. Personally all but Ace are not that talented, but i still like their music. I think there is a deep rooted jealousy by bands seeing how successful Kiss has been and being less talented as other bands.
If Guns n Rose's can draw the crowd KISS did for 50 years, then we'll talk. KISS inspired soooo many bands that ended up successful. GNR has maybe 5 hits anyone can recognize? Puh- leez. Listen to every album/CD in their catalog, you'll hear the talent and diversity.
I disagree. GNR was on top of the world for a hot few years in the early 90s. Go watch the Paradise City music video and check the crowd they drew there. I like both bands, but to say that GNR couldn’t draw a crowd like KISS is flat out wrong. If anything id say that GNR was the bigger band at one point
@@theshield2207I think he's trying to say that GNR, when they were at the top of their game for a few years, drew crazy numbers in arenas and festivals all over the world. KISS did the same thing - for a longer time and more consistently throughout the years. Just remember that most of the 80s were the lean years of KISS and their popularity began to severely wane. It wasn't until Revenge, MTV Unplugged, and then the 1996 reunion tour when KISS finally got their momentum back.
@@thee8904 GNR never sold out arenas as a solo act the way Kiss did. Although i enjoy theatrics during concerts, Carlos is kinda right. Even Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. implied the same thing about his own band when a prop malfunctioned and injured Blackie. Blackie said if they wrote better songs he wouldn't have to do the shit he did.
Man, Kiss is such a conflicting band. Their early songs and some in the 80s were awesome! The stage show and the look is great. But, their music IS secondary.
Good, bands I never cared for...
I don’t think Slash HATES KISS! He’s been seen wearing KISS shirts several times and he’s friends with Ace Frehley and sites him as an influence. I think, like Axl, he just prefers early KISS and not so much their later years

Stanley is a hypocrit
Slash is probably a huge Kiss fan.
Is it that obvious?
Les Paul?

A more Hard Rock/less Blues approach to his songwriting?
He’s a much bigger Aerosmith fan.
👀
Aerosmith was hit or miss in concert in the 1970's but their records and songwriting were on a totally different level than KISS.
My first CD ever was alive III. Paul as a vocalist is underated imo.
Paul Stanley is not underrated - he's one of the most popular, loved and richest rock stars out there.

KISS recorded that horrible disco song, that's worse than playing Walk this Way with Britney. Although "can you get enough of me?" was a funny line.

Those torn ragged looking jeans are expensively worn.

KISS doesn’t give two flips about what anyone else thinks of them or they wouldn’t have done what they did when they were starting out!
AEROSMITH MENTIONED 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
😎
Tyler looks more and more like the Crypt Keeper every year.
GREAT JOB ALL...THANX 4 MAKING Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO the music worldwide.
LOVE YOU ALL...!!!....MUCH LOVE.!!
People. Can't we all get along. Play nice. 😂
Yeah,good luck to them... Uhh,nope.
😂
😎
Bob Ezrin's 'Destroyer' is a timeless rock 'n' roll piece that sounds just as good today as it did fifty years ago.
I disagree. @@martinportelance138
I always liked kiss music. .I purchased the records when I was a teenager I still have the records
Nobody hates them its just when you keep prolonging your farewell tour year after year it gets old.
👀
And what about the Rolling Stones WTF They’re still touring, but You don’t say anything about that, or the Who. Let’s face it, time goes on for Everyone.
COVID restrictions hindered their world tour.
They were supposed to finish in 2020 but the pandemic meant that they didn't finish their world tour until 2024.
Gene Simons is from the generation of silent denial and drinking away or praying away your problems . The truth is each generation has their own approach to mental health .
A cartoon band that sounds thin. Yeah, they suck. 😎
I mean you can hate band members of KISS but then you don’t have to say KISS is crap…. Let people enjoy their music….
They were amazing in the 70s to 90s now they’re just old
They always sucked balls
Paul Stanley looks like an old woman.
and steven tyler doesn't ??
Gene Simmonds is one of the most hated people in the music industry. Met him in a hotel elevator in Seattle he treated the people around him like crap
Sure he did. Hundreds of people who have met him, (self included) say he's very friendly and still has a great sense of humor. If he treated you differently, it must have been you who were being the asshole.
@kiillabytez easy there princess. Pretty tough on a keyboard in your mom's basement
@@Paul-eb9qj Who said anything about being tough? I see now why he thought you were an asshat. I apologize, I meant to say MR. Asshat. I don't even know you and I think you're a douche canoe too.
Check out his NPR interview where he literally had to steal The Who’s lines to sound edgy 😂
@@Bigfrank88 Sure, I'll put it on my Bucket List..., maybe, if I have no other alternatives, I MIGHT do that, but probably not.
most of those people dont really hate KISS anymore or might even never did it seemed like a thing everyone just had to claim at one point to look cool lol even slash now can be seen wearing a KISS shirt very often.
👀👀
Slash apologized and they settled their differences.
A lot of people who don't even listen to Kiss say they hate Ace Frehley, not because of his playing but because of his look. My cousin once found me listening to Destroyer and he points at Ace and says "He's gay." So I asked him which one, and he point at Ace again and just says "That guy."
He didn't even know his name or what he played, he just didn't like him because of his look. I guarantee he got more poontang in a year than my cousin got his entire life.
I heard later that Bob Dylan wrote a song with Gene Simmons. I forget where I had read about that
Slash....I just want you to know that I feel ya,bro. I hate them too. Everything about them. I just am not getting it. Why dress like that and play like this!? How does one rock n roll all night,AND party everyday!? When are you supposed to sleep, huh!? Why the disco album!? Nevermind. I think I'm pretty clear on that one, actually.
....yeah,Kiss sucks.
1:19 why, because he couldn't actually think they're crap?
Most bands real problem with KISS Is jealousy. KISS was a band critics said would be gone in a few short years and they are still here and their critics that said that are washed up! Bands get pissy because of KISS having so much success. The bottom line is there’s not a single band out there that wouldn’t put the makeup on and look like KISS if they could become huge like that.
The summer of 77 Kiss reached the top and no one can deny it.
😎
Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, the doors, Pink Floyd, GnR, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, should I go on??
Literally nobody on the planet is jealous of the band KISS. Gene doesn't know how vaccines work 😂
@@Webedunnwho tf is the who?!? The doors!? The only ones that have the same success as them are the beatles, Led Zeppelin and maybe the rolling stones. You mention any other band to anyone in the world they are A NOBODY
Fans always speak loudest. Kiss has plenty.
Speaks to the IQ level of plenty of Americans.
Sorry but Aerosmith is WAY better than kiss. Their music is amazing and performances are way better then KISS. Better stage presence, better vocal and playing, and just a better band overall!
KISS #1
😎
KISS - the boy band for boys 😂😂😂 they're not serious people 😂😂😂
@@mondoseguendo6113 like you
Tyler is an asshole. Rush said tyler never given a sound check!
Kiss treated rush 1st class when they opened for kiss. Santana has one guitar solo in the last 50 years. Same one every song 😂
@@mondoseguendo6113 What's the matter, they're not Death Metal enough for you?
First of all, they were never a boy band, and it's obvious you don't even know what a boy band is. You are just a troll trying to get a reaction.
love is just an step away from hate
Santana is right. G Simmons is a Complete PR&CK
😳
Wrong
@@Ingwerbrot What do you know, really? Again, Santana is correct.
@@BammnDan do you know the history of kiss
@@Ingwerbrot I wouldn't have commented if I didn't.
Say what you will about them. They have been huge influences and helped jump start many great bands. Personally all but Ace are not that talented, but i still like their music. I think there is a deep rooted jealousy by bands seeing how successful Kiss has been and being less talented as other bands.
I don't like anything about Kiss.
Dylan wore white face make up on his '74 tour. He wrote a tune with Gene.
👀
@@thee8904hes not lying…kiss even during a this end of the road tour were selling out arenas. Even the festivals in Europe
Every show I saw GnR play they ALWAYS played with other bands on the card and I guarantee people weren't there to see GnR exclusively and only going because they were another good band performing at the concert. The music video features live concert footage shot at Giants Stadium in New Jersey while Guns N' Roses were on tour with Aerosmith and at the 1988 Monsters of Rock festival at Donington Park. So, I can safely say that Aerosmith was the card draw not GNR.
Kiss is legendary & great! These others need to just leave them alone
AMAZING COMMENTARY…. SLASH IS A FRAUD 🎩😡🤬
😂🤘
How can Slash be a fraud when he's better than any guitarist that's ever been in Kiss?
Nope
@@drewriley1889😂😂 seriously? You ‘re probably not aware of the fact that Slash has been struglin every single time GnR were in a studio, he has never been as good as they would like you to believe. Truth is that even the worst guitar player in Kiss was better than Slash, Sad but true
@@drewriley1889 Really? If only he knew how to tune a damned amplifier I could listen to them more than 15-minutes before I'm ready to pull my hair out.
Dylan's conversion is one of the most fascinating and 'not talked about' celebrity stories. Gonna have to youtube dive it....but Cassius Morris...hint hint hint at an idea for a video lol
👀🤘
Santana OVER KISS
Although i enjoy theatrics during concerts, Carlos is kinda right. Even Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. implied the same thing about his own band when a prop malfunctioned and injured Blackie. Blackie said if they wrote better songs he wouldn't have to do the shit he did.
Interesting Black Magic Woman was used in Detroit Rock City
What the real rock fans said in the 70s was KISS Sucks. And they still do.
😂
Man, Kiss is such a conflicting band. Their early songs and some in the 80s were awesome! The stage show and the look is great. But, their music IS secondary. Gene Simmons confirmed that in an interview with Henry Rollins. Also, I disagree with most of Gene Simmons philosophy and after I read Paul’s book, he’s kind of a whiner.
👀
BUT he's made millions from his business sense.
Also, who's a whiner, Gene or Paul?
