The world did give me that warm feeling of wood paneled computer towers and softer lighting, the graphic design of the film really helped to enhance and give th movie a unique touch of its own.
Y'all should really do the same dive with where the wild things are and virgin suicides

For sure! You can't have too many video essays about Spike Jonze or Sofia Coppola movies out there!

I absolutely loved this video! Her was my favorite film of that year. Being a graphic designer myself, this really hit home! I always loved the esthetic of the film but this just really connected all the dots for me!

Thank you so so much! In the past few years, graphic design in film has really started to stand out as something we've been, personally, appreciating more and more, so it's truly so amazing to know that this video spoke to you!
Are there any other films that are your favorites/stand out for you in terms of graphic design? We'll be covering more and I'd love your input. :)

FANTASTIC content as always guys ☺️
Hadn't thought about how differently this movie was constructed in terms of look but only because I was so engrossed in the theme and story!

Thank you CineStructure for this amazing video! (I'll write my thesis about graphic design in film that's how I found your video) I was wondering if you can recommend any other movies or moving image examples in which graphic design has a really strong meaning and purpose to the movie. Thank you so much for your inspiring videos :)

Hi Kathleen! Thank you so much for watching and we are so glad the video was useful! That sounds like an amazing thesis!
Actually we are working on a new video now and right after that will be doing a short graphic design video for “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” so I would definitely recommend that film…it’s full of wonderful design elements (money, signage, posters, flags, etc) by graphic designer Annie Atkins.
Some others that I would recommend are “Arrival,” the Harry Potter films, the Blade Runner films, “Alien.”
A lot of sci-films films have really wonderful graphic interfaces. We just did another video about movie control rooms and cover a LOT of movies that use really cool, well-designed graphic interfaces…you might want to check that out for some more ideas. “Oblivion” and “Minority Report” are a few.
I would also recommend movie titles and the graphics employed in them. Saul Bass is a classic example.
If I think of any more big examples I’ll add another comment, but I hope this helps for now. 👍🏻☺️

    And here we go 😄❤
How about an another Wes Anderson film, such as 'The Darjeeling Limited' or 'The Royal Tenenbaums'.
And can you make a video on Midsommar, it barely gets credit for its design.

We’ve definitely got more Wes Anderson planned down the road. Every one of his films is just gorgeous! ☺️
We will add Midsommar to the list to cover down the road! It really is a beautiful film! ✨🙌🏻

For sure! In the meantime we’ve got some great films upcoming! We are just trying to vary it a bit to cover as many directors, production designers, genres, aesthetics, etc. There are way too many amazing movies out there! 😁😁

@@CineStructure Will do! It’s really cool how y’all compared the world (and it’s designs) in the movie to ours. Now I’m noticing things in my room and my device that I’ve always just taken for granted lol. Great video :)

Question. Can most of the designs mentioned here be called "Graphic Design"? Aren't they "Interface/UI Design"?

    • @CineStructure
      @CineStructure  Год назад +1

Excellent question! We made the conscious choice to refer to it as graphic design because that’s what it is for the purposes of production design. In the world of the film, it’s absolutely UI, but since these are designed as static imagery in reality by a graphic designer we went with that term. ☺️

@@CineStructure Yeah makes sense. I'm a UI/UX Designer and this movie is popular among my friends for how good the UI of it looks. It's friendly and comforting unlike other futuristic UI's that you'd typically see in movies

You have a very very cool job! I’ve always been intrigued by your field! I agree entirely…it’s got a real soul and depth to it without being cold and detached.

I hate the ubiquity of digital colour grading in films.
