    Are the pushup and squat table mixed up? Because 55 pushups and 35 squats don't seem like a right ratio to me.

    • @mrknarf4438
      @mrknarf4438 5 лет назад +44

      mattikus Yeah, especially with proper form and speed push-ups. 55 push-ups would be extraordinarily impressive, whereas 35 squats is doable.

    • @Sujiceel
      @Sujiceel 4 года назад +5

      that has gotta be proper form as well, not just the numbers

    • @alialtinel2960
      @alialtinel2960 4 года назад +16

      Mr Knarf yeah 35 squats is actually easy.55 pushups on the other hand seems unimaginable with chest touching the ground and with a reasonable pace.

    • @brandonclarke4537
      @brandonclarke4537 4 года назад +2

      .......standard is number of push ups in 2 minutes. The army pt test for someone 17-21 years old the minimum is 42 push ups in 2 minutes. To max the test, 71 is required. To be a competitive fighter, you should be able to do at least 100 pushups and sit ups as well as 100 squats in my opinion

    • @makina2022

    i joined the gym without being able to do a proper push up or skip properly and i definitely wasn't that flexible but i joined a gym anyway and could do these easily within a month or two, don't be put off if you can't do these when you start. Especially if you go to your first few sessions with a friend.

    Never really tried to jump rope before, Usually replace it with a hybrid plyo squat thrust burpee for maximum leg activation with ballistic movement. Great for takedown shots.
    Anyhoo, jumping rope was never something I figured out as a child. Jumping rope is right up there with learning how to swim, and to dispose of the weight of guilt. Lol. So I will definitely give jumping rope a try! Its good to learn new things

      To improve your 2 mile time I would recommend running super long distances at a slow pace on off days, running half miles intervals at your goal 2 mile pace about twice a week, and try your 2 mile run at top speed about once a week.

    Flexibility is the oddest thing. I've been training martial arts on regular basis (4-5 times a week) since I was 6 but I cannot stretch for shit. After I put way more emphasis on it for the past 3yrs I noticed some slight improvement but it's still subpar...But as long as it does not hinder my performance I am okay with it.

  • @LucidRobYT

    I injured my right shoulder a while back and lost all flexibility to it, it seems.
    I'm unsure which movment(s) I should be focusing on when considering MMA training.

  • @TheRaidenLP
    @TheRaidenLP 7 лет назад

    I'd say it depends on your weight class. A welterweight needs to be more agile than a heavyweight while a heavyweight must have more strength than a welterweight.
    But that test is pretty good, even though my running endurance sucks while I can punch for what feels like hours

    Rope skipping is a learned skill. Make sure you do NOT use it as a cardio exercise when you begin! This is absolutely one of the exercises you want to be practicing before you go into a gym. Once you have a certain level of proficiency, you can start adding tricks and use it as a cardio workout. Glad to see that hammered in the video, but here it is again in the comments just in case you missed it.

I mention im 21y old and i have a decent diet(a lot of proteins, low carbs, no junk food or soda etc.). Any ideea why?

    I can touch my left and and right arm when my right hand is behind my back an my left hand is going over my body but not vice versa. How do I make my left arm more flexible?

    I can only touch my fingers when my left arm is on the bottom. Not the other way around. Is there something wrong with my right shoulder? There is no pain. But there is limited mobility.

      Biggest tip is get through the door and let the coach take over. Hardest part is getting through the door.

    Eh, I don't believe this. The gym I go to didn't mind that I was completely out of shape when I started a little over a year ago, I was 260 ish. Because I said "should I do some workouts at my house before joining" and the owner looked right at me kind of serious, yet friendly and said "why do workouts to get in shape before coming to a place where you're going to get in shape, just jump into it man. No shame in weight, we don't judge, just do your best". I started the next day, no one judged or laughed at me. Here I am a year and ehh 3 months later, down to 165 eating a TON better and only drinking water, working out on my own, jogging and gym(muay thai, bjj, and boxing, weights). Just by jumping straight into it. So on this subject, I disagree with you Shane, no offense. Anyone overweight wanting to join any sort of gym, I say go for it and I'm more than happy for you to tell me how it goes! Good luck everyone starting their new journeys, and those that are furthering theirs!

      You and your coach do have a point, but if I only trained at the gym/dojo, I wouldn't have made the gains that I have made thus far. Martial arts begins in the training room, what ever you would call it, and continues beyond its walls.

    The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.
