I'm 4'9 and used to weigh about 105 pounds, ate whatever I wanted, sometimes up to 2000-3000 calories. My tummy was definitely chubby and I felt swollen a lot of the time. After losing 10 pounds over one year and getting some muscle definition, I look like a totally new person. Unfortunately I can only eat about 1580 to maintain assuming I'm working out 3-5 days a week. It's so hard because I'm a foodie and love to eat too. I wish I was taller to be honest

Try doing reverse dieting for 6-12 months, while weight training, you can increase your calorie intake by 1000 cal easily in one year, then you'll have more room to play with and drop more weight if you want to, and you can eat more too🙂 if you don't know what exactly reverse dieting is, do your research, make sure you understand it completely and avoid the common mistakes...you'll thank yourself for doing it🙂

(i’m 5’4, 20 yrs old) during quarantine, i went from 115 to 140. now i’m at 125, still looking to lose about 5-7 pounds. 100% my entire lifestyle changed. i had never been 140 before, but i also had never had chik fil a everyday or ate a pint of ice cream a day before. now, i’m back to eating more home cooked meals (and no fast food), going on walks, and eating ice cream as a treat maybe twice a week (sometimes more, but i definitely am not eating a pint a day 🤭). also, counting calories in the beginning was very much needed. cuz even tho i thought i was eating healthy then, i was still eating too much. now i’m off calorie counting and can estimate a good amount to eat. i also used to lift weights all the time pre-covid, so i’m super excited to do that again once i’m back at school in 2 weeks. overall, i feel way healthier than i was at 140! healthy habits build up, and you’ll never want to stop doing them once you’ve got it established

As a 5 ft women, with a bmr of 1280, it sucks to try to be in a deficit. I've lost 120 lbs but can't get past 160. Weight training 3 days a week and cardio twice a week. All I've done is get stronger and thicker but can't lose any more weight. I've had a body scan to check my body composition. Getting jealous of "skinny fat" women!

    That's more than my maintenance!

The term for a person 5’4” or less is Petite. I don’t see my 4’11” body size as “short”. I prefer being called petite. The best exercise for my body is weight lifting. Building muscle will help increase my metabolism. I only eat 20% under my maintenance calories. My maintenance is 1934 20% is 386 - I eat 1548 calories per day. On days I do heavy workouts I don’t do a deficit. I’m burning more than 500 calories when I workout. I don’t need to eat a large deficit when I’m working out 5 days a week.

I am 5 feet even and weigh 163 pounds. I have an athletic build, but I am fluffy and cannot seem to lose this stubborn belly and back fat. I’ve tried intermittent fasting for 16 hours, walking at least 10,000 steps per day, and I weight lift and do cardio. My weight just seems to fluctuate between 163 to 159. I have not a clue what I am doing wrong besides the fact that my eating schedule has been off lately, but not often. I will just keep going and not look at my journey so much as a chore and just have fun with it. I refuse to give up.

You might be dealing with hormonal issues, constipation, water retention or you’re just eating slightly more than you’re burning. I’m not saying inherently overeating but 100-200 calories (which can be consumed quite easily really; juice, sauces, butter, oils, etc.) can really add up when you’re less than 5’3. I’m barely 5’2 and I struggle with the same issue of bouncing back the same 10 pounds. It’s usually a mix of irregular sleeping schedule, too much sodium, eating a bit more than I need etc.

Not recommending this, but… I was at my lowest weight, 104 lbs at 5’1” when my cardiologist had me working out all the time. He didn’t consider anything you could speak while performing an actual cardio exercise. This was paired with some mild resistance (dance fitness class with 5 lb weights, ballet barre, stationary bike with resistance). I couldn’t keep up with his prescription, but I tried. I also tried to avoid processed carbs and focus more on meat and veggies.
