Why have I never been taught this before?? Everyone teaches you how to diet....but no one teaches you how to maintain it! Thank you once again for this gem!

Hey Coach E…I just want to say THANK YOU! I started my journey a month ago and was getting discouraged but I saw your video about measurements and pictures as a way to track progress. Just let me say I took a picture today and my motivation feels like Day 1. Everybody who asks me what I’m doing, I send them to your tik tok and RUclips channel 🥰

Can you please do a video on stretching while weight training. I find I get random and painful muscle twitches on rest days from my workouts and my muscles feel really tight from weight training. I have noticed stretching helps but want to get into the habit of doing a quick 15min full body stretch routine on rest days would help me so much. Thank you for your videos your advice actually works! ✌️

You have been essential in my wieghtloss thus far.some times people are so corny or add a bunch of unessaccary bullshit in a video or article. I like ur straight to the point plan and simple in a diet/workout language most people understand. saw ur video about proper squatting technique. Could u maybe show proper deadlift technique and the different variations of dead lift? Pretty please.

I have absolutely thought about it Chris, good call. I just know sometimes the visual board helps or it wouldn’t necessarily make sense without the board but I may try!

Ok, so I have a complex question for you. What if I am trying to lose body fat and build muscle? I currently track what I eat and make a deficit of ~600 cals under TDEE (never sure if I am moderate or very active range - I lift 6 x per week heavy). BMR is 1600 and TDEE range is either 2400-2600 depending on "activity level." So I consume 1850/day with my current activity. I steer far away from the scale because my brain messes with me. I definitely am stronger and see muscle growth but I would like to know what is the best way to lose fat. Thanks!! Sorry if that was confusing!

Well the only way to lose fat is though a calorie deficit. I would also say 6 days a week of “heavy” training is too much unless you are on steroids or sleep 9+ hours a night and in a calorie surplus :)

@@ericrobertsfitness haha definitely not on steroids and I get about seven hours of sleepy time. Scale back on the lifting and incorporate more rest? The deficit has been ongoing.

Can you please explain the TEF (thermic effect of food)? I understand the general methodology. But.. hypothetically if you eat carbs at night and your heart rate lowers towards the end of day / during sleep, wouldn’t those carbs translate into fat overnight, even in a deficit? My thought is, although you burn calories sleeping, it’s marginal. And you aren’t burning 25%+ digesting like protein… makes sense to get your carb intake earlier in the day, right? But regardless how does this effect your weight loss goal when eating carbs at night if you’re in an overall deficit

Is a tactic of diet culture when they say that if u eat to low calorie u will gain all ur weight back. What if u just increase ur calories. Wouldn’t u just continue to lose weight just a lot lot slower ?
