During my first month of calorie deficit and excercise I lost 6 lbs. I felt a little bad because I see people losing 10 lbs (and more) in a month. But I decided to focus on my own progress and not compare my self. Fast forward to the 6th week ( 2 weeks have passed) and I lost nothing but lost inches. A bit discouraging but I saw your video on body recomp and felt better. Fast forward a week. I had only lost .6 lbs. I felt like a total loser. Not gonna lie, I wanted to quit. But what kept me going was your losing inches and not weight video. I had other methods to measure my progress and recomitted myself to keep going. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Then, I came across this part 10:22. I'm telling you, I almost cried. I felt so encouraged by this. I was beggining to wonder if I needed to push myself more hut I know it wouldn't be sustainable. I just wanna say thank you for this. I felt like you brought me back from discouragement.
I totally had Diet mentality for about 8 years! Then i went to intuitive eating, took me no where because i was so confused. It's been 1 week that I've been tracking with 80/20 and I've lost 1 lb such proud moment!
Changing the mindset is sooo hard-I think I will try to have 80/20 as my mantra! I love these you tube, posts, emails etc-keeps me focused and feeling more positive every day!
7 months in - average loss is .75 a week! I didn’t track a for a few months and maintained. I’m so stoked to continue this journey in a sustainable way.
“Over restrict and binge” ….my life in a nutshell after trying every “diet” on the planet (recently keto for 3 years)🤦🏾♀️ So glad I stumbled across your channel 2 weeks ago and now I’m making realistic & sustainable progress.
It truly involves a lifestyle change. What you said is absolutely right on! We experiment with our own bodies and we can tell what we need to eat and not eat to maintain the new weight!
Thank you… It’s so hard. Weight loss is slowing down despite working out more, and staying within the calorie range consistently. At sometimes 4 pounds a month, which feels like nothing especially when the scale jumps 3 pounds for several days.
I lost 6kg in 22 days just by using your videos as my guide and motivation 🥰 10kg more to go! Now I wonder if I should decrease my calorie intake or just keep it as it is. I’m 1.6kg away to a normal BMI.
Thank you for this. I have been torturing myself with a weekly goal of losing 1.5 pounds a week and that has left me feeling like a failure. After watching this video, I reset my goal to 1 pound a week, and I've been smashing that goal. Thank you for giving me that lightbulb moment I needed ❤
Love this video!! Shared with all my friends, u have tackled on all negative aspects that I have in my head… since finding ure videos on TikTok, I now follow ure RUclips, podcast, and Instagram! I take all the free info you provided and using it daily! Trying to get my nutrition in line, working out 5 times a day… but my main struggle is logging my calories… I start n then boom stop… I’m definitely being more mindful of what I put into my body! Thanks so much for spending time making these videos! Helps 100%
I have learnt a lot from watching you in the past week honestly counting calories is hard because I would have to drastically reduce eating African food because we measure with our eyes while cooking lol but taking gradual steps daily. Thank you for all you do
One thing that has helped me (not cooking African food) but weighing packages before I start, writing it down and weighing after then subtracting… he has another video about getting a calorie count on a big cooked dish. The hardest part is counting the food I consume while cooking.. Also on days we’re eating at my in-laws, I eat a lower calorie breakfast vs skipping so I eat less.
Thank you for all your advice. I'm enjoying being at the gym and listening to it all. I now stopped training daily and am training every other day. I stopped fasting. Stop the keto crap and basically track everything. I have the scale to weigh my food, a workout book to track my progressive overload. Seriously that is for all the good advice. I'm not dropping weight like crazy but I feel the healthiest I've ever felt!
hey ! I wanted your take on a article I just read it stated if you are skinny fat you can utilize “noob gains”,So you are going to be building muscle no matter your diet. “This means that no matter what you do, you will be building muscle and burning fat. The biggest change you should make is to your diet. Don't bother counting calories, unless it's something you want to do. As long as you eat around 5 clean meals a day no dirty bulking you’ll have a 6 pack in 2-4 months” can you give some thoughts and insight to that I’d very much appreciate it! Thanks In advance
Hey Eric! I watch a lot of your videos and I have to say your information is very straight forward, helpful and legit. However, I’ve been noticing that tracking calories has easily turned into an ED. The second I can track my calories, my quick cheat meal turns into a 5,000 calorie cheat day. I have a little bit of muscle, but a lot of fat. I want to be in a high protein calorie deficit to lose fat at a sustainable rate, however I find it impossible to hit enough protein without tracking calories. Any help please? Let me know if possible! Appreciate these vids eric!
I have been calorie counting 1 month but have not seen much progress. Yes it's like 2 days a week that I eat more calories that I should but I also breastfeed (I'm on my husband's youtube just in case you're wondering 😂) would that have to do with my not loosing?
I’ve been tracking my macros, do I focus on macros or calories or both? The macros are correct on mfp but the calories don’t add up. This is so frustrating!! I feel like if I hit my macros perfectly, by default I’ll hit my calories but mfp doesn’t add them up accurately. I know it’s consistency > perfection but I just feel like by not hitting my calories due to the inaccuracies of mfp, I’m stalling my progress
@@JustHereToHear thank you yes I know! I just wish mfp would have the correct cals that match the macros of the food. I know I shouldn’t be too meticulous about it but I’m afraid I may be over/under eating instead of hitting my cals because of this.

Could you do a video on how to stop tracking calories after weight loss? To make it sustainable for life, since we can’t track forever?

As someone who lost and gained 30 lbs over the years, the maintains part is hard. Honestly I was not taught or shown how to maintain it!
Appreciate you! 😊

watch my video on "how to lose weight without counting calories" and do that :)

Just as a guide, each gram of protein/carb is 4 kcals, and each gram of fat is 9 kcals.. Maybe this would help you

sometimes fiber is accounted for as 2 cals or 0 cals :) just track your progress... if you are seeing progress, then all good :)
@@ericrobertsfitness just to keep track of numbers, do I subtract/add the grams of fiber to the total cals mfp shows or from my actual calorie goal?
Kupeesh
When you have over a 100 ibs to lose you want to at least lose 10 ibs per month.
How to do that
