When only the albumen is eaten, the protein is only 3 grams. The albumen is pure protein whereas the yolk has very beneficial vitamins. This is to say that if a person feels that eating the yolk might raise cholesterol, the nutrition far outweighs the possible unhealthy addition to cholesterol.

I lost 60 pounds in one year WITHOUT EVEN TRYING by moving to Europe where their clean food laws ensure that you don't end up addicted to food porn and where the social persuasion to Not be a Pig is more self-evident. But I also did this: 1) tons more movement built into everyday life like walking up and down 2 flights of stairs every time I left the house 2) never ate outside of regular meal times, never ate in cars, or walking around town, or not sitting down (only children do this) 4) only eating treats in a social, relaxed, "special" setting and never alone or in front of TVs 5) filled a plate and ate it, never snacking out of a bag, never taking "seconds." 6) got into the social groove of living with presence and at a slower pace.

I was losing at 1100 calories plus 12k steps per day and stalled. So I got worried I was not eating enough. So I have slowly upped my calories to around 1500 and am now gaining about 1/2 pounds per month.
This is all over a period of years since starting whole foods and low carb in 2018. I still feel great but have excess fat at around 47% so definitely not just vanity pounds.

@@pat-realfoodnanu9050 I also have slowly increased my calories because I had gotten kind of low. And since January have put on almost 10 lb. I am going to track macros tightly and see if I can start losing again at as small of a deficit as I can. I was maintaining and slowly gaining at 1800 to 2000. I have dropped down to 15 to 1600 right now. Just this week. I eat basically carnivore and move at least 10 to 12K steps a day. Plus lift weights. It's the only thing I can think of to change right now. I understand stress has a lot to do with it also. I do my best to manage my stress, with long walks outside, prayer, worship. I'm finally sleeping 8 hours a night so I know it's not that. I just know my body has plenty of fat to release.

Any thoughts on Berberine supplement? I just bought a bottle but haven't started taking yet. I'm 53 in perimenopause and I'm 50lbs overweight. I've recently changed my lifestyle quite a bit. I'm walking 30-45 min 5 days a week and I've cut out most refined sugar and refined carbs although not 100% probably like 80%. I've added nuts, greens, plant proteins, chicken fish berries etc..still eating too much sodium though. Cutting out my starbucks iced chai has been the hardest thing to let go of but I'm determined to lose weight🙏

I stopped drinking soda fifteen years ago. I haven’t ate baked goods for a year. I haven’t drank alcohol for fifteen years. We don’t eat any processed foods. I have ate steel cut oats for breakfast the past ten years. I eat some eggs more for like a brunch or lunch even. We have cut way way back on carbs as on eating spaghetti only once every other week. We eat organic meats. We don’t ear hardly any fried food except French fries about once per month if that. We only use real butter not margarine. We only use olive oil instead of crisco. We don’t eat snack foods like potato chips. I do eat some Doritos with a little cheese and salsa a few times per week. I sometimes was in a pattern of eating a small pizza once a week but I’m now getting away from that because of all of the dough. We eat brown bread only and it’s a minimum amount of slices per week. For exercise I use a stationary bike at the YMCA during the winter while watching a virtual bike ride on a big screen via RUclips. The videos I concentrate on are set up to be HIIT training. Then I ride three or four times per week on my road bike all spring - Fall. What is my weakness you might ask. I eat a little bit of chocolate. And yes I know, it should be dark chocolate but it’s not.

I'm not stressed. I'm very active. I sleep well. I don't have cravings. I eat 120-140 grams of protein a day. I get enough fiber.I don't drink very often; only when I have gigs, 2 glasses of wine. I have not eaten sugar for several years, try to keep carbs in the 20-30 range. No flour of any kind. I never eat any processed foods! No longer diabetic ! Wearing size 3 x food! Still have a big gut. Am bald. Have facial hair. Have fibromyalgia and arthritis. Fibro still present but low carb has helped. What do I try next. System does not tolerate high amount of greens so my greens are blended in a kale or Swiss shard smoothie that included blueberries and chia seed. I get severe gastric problems if I eat the amount of greens you propose.

Can you add ingredients and ways that modify these sugars ? I've started refridgerating my carbs, adding cinnamon and herbs and VINEGAR . Use 99% + olive oils in my foods. I can purposely cut what i eat feeling comfortable , with say 1 pancake, and either 1 egg or 1 sausage . 70 + years of eating is difficult to change at 100%. I have lost 12 #'s slowly with these modifications . So maybe there are combinations to help?

Great video except for the long list of plants recommended near the end. He also recommends a ketogenic diet, which is typically less than 20 gm carbs/day. Attempting to stay on a ketogenic diet for weight loss and trying to fill your plate with 75% vegetables/fruits is a receipt for macro failure every day, and therefore weight loss failure. But the lead up metabolic science part is spot on, as far as I can tell. Too bad I can’t share this with anyone because its a setup for failure.
