Literally the BEST male singer EVER. He is his own LANE. RIP Luther. 🙏🏽👊🏽👍🏽❤️
I agree. 💯% his voice is so smoooooth!!💞💕 Pleasing to the ear, to the Soul!! 🥰 💫
There will only be ONE Luther Vandross👉🆗
💯 & HE WAS AN AMAZING 🎙 👏👏
Absolutely point blank period.
Ain't nobody Sangin like this anymore.
FACTS!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖😊💖💖💖💖💖
May his soul Rest in Peace.
He wasn’t just a good singer, he was a good performer. He had charm and charisma. He had such control of his voice that few people have.
Luther Vandross Was One of The Best Ever Singers in America History 🙌🏾👏🏾🙌🏾!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the great fortune of seeing Luther perform at Wembley, his vocal ability soared in all its majesty performing live without the restrictions of a studio recording. One of the greatest vocalists of his time and a privilege to witness his ability to make his performance appear effortless. His passing was a major loss to the music world. RIP Luther Vandross.❤
Lucky you!
Me too! The man was so brilliant at doing cover versions of other people`s Songs. This was originally done by Dusty Springfield and it was one of many songs from The Burt Bacharach/Hal David Catalogue. He also got his start in a Gospel Choir who were on the First Episode of Sesame Street in 1969 and he also made his bones singing Backup for David Bowie on Fame, not the Irene Cara Song. He also made folks First Dance as Man & Wife so romantic with Here and Now and he bought alot of "Babies" into the world.
Also to let you know that Wembley is the most powerful place to play. From Michael Jackson (RIP), Elton John and Tina Turner. It was also the place where They Had The Concert for Princess Diana which was a posthumous Birthday Celebration.
Didn't Denise Williams copy this also, the woman that song " Let's Hear It For The Boys "
Saw him here in the U.S. in the late 90s. I've been to a lot of concerts, and it was one of the best concerts EVER!
The best version of this awesome cover by Luther was the one he did at the NAACP Awards in honor of Dionne Warwick who originally did this gem.
Agreed! And the vocal mix is much better.
Brook Benton recorded it about the same time as Dionne Warwick. Both hers and his recordings rose in the charts at the same time.
You are correct! He blew the doors off the house, & LUTHERed it up, when he sang to Dionne.
Not many things can make me smile and shed a tear at the same time like music. Especially this mans voice
Yes!!!
AMEN TOO THAT!
Yes!
FACTS!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖😁💖💖💖💖💖
His voice gives me chills. He died way way too soon. I remember we had tickets to his concert in Detroit and were so disappointed we didn’t get to see him due to his failing health. Sadly, he passed away not long after that. R.I.P. Luther. 💔🙏
To me Luther Vandross is the best of the best! Not one single song he sings doesn't evoke some sort of emotion! Just love him so much!
Luther was a Grand Master with his voice!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
FACTS!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖🥰💖💖💖💖💖
This is the absolute best version of this song! It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Better than the 1988 NAACP version?
NO, I think the tribute to Dionne Warwick, is the best one! Listen to that one!!
We are listening to His Masters Voice! 🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️
Nothing can compete with a live performance that is just as outstanding as listening to its CD.
Thank you for playing my guy Luther, I was at that concert he his a legend. He touches your soul. I miss you Luther ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Luther + Burt Bacharach and Hal David = magic!
Continue to R.I.P Mr Luther Vandross thanks for the beautiful music and memories ❤
I had the pleasure of seeing Luther live in LA. What a concert, What a voice. Gone too soon, RIP Luther
You need to react to: a house without a home, he performed it at the NAACP awards, the best version he’s ever done !!!!
Exactly. Without a doubt.
You can never go wrong with LUTHER!! Seeing him LIVE...just wow...his vocals never let you down!!
The look on your faces before Luther sang one word ,,,,,,, priceless!!!
I'm glad I got the chance to see legendary Luther Vandross in concert. 🙂 EPIC performer!❤💐👏 RIP
I saw him do this song at NJ Art Center and my wife lost her mind. The ladies were screaming like you would not believe!!! I miss him saw much….rest in peace😢
I seen Luther Vandross about 4 times in my lifetime and never was disappointed. The artists back then sounded just like the recordings no enhancements. I loved Luther every since his “Never too Much” album. There will never be another Luther and I was blessed to be so young to experience some of the best music in this era.
I seen Luther just about the same amount of time....I think the first time I saw him was the Never too much album....in the early 80's. The last time I seen him was probably in 1987.....🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
RIP Luther….. Check out Lisa Fischer “How Can I Ease The Pain” she was one of Luther’s back ground singers…. But do the live version
Love Luther since he first came on the scene! His voice is incredible ❤️🔥🔥🔥🌟💝❤️🔥! Gone too soon, RIP you incredible man Luther Vandross 😢
Mesmerising ♥
You should also check out this version he did in tribute to Ms Dionne Warwick in NAACP awards in 1988 his vocals were off the charts
Yes, that's a great one!
Totally agree. Luther was fabulous ❤❤
Saw him live 3 times, once at Hammersmith Odeon, twice at Wembley. Best artist ever, sadly missed. ❤
Your generation missed out on a lot of good singers! I was so in love with this man. And so so sad, when he died, at the young age of 53, of a stroke! I still cry, when I hear his songs!
Love this mans talent...RIP LV
Luther was the greatest soul singer ever there has never been another soul singer like him since he past. I really don't think anyone will ever match him truly one of a kind.
Luther was the buttah-man! You can just melt into his voice and songs.. he was wonderful and I hate he has passed. Music could use a current influence from this master class artist!
The man!! The legend!!!
Shawn & Mel, what can I say? I was born 1963, so Luther Vandross was an International Master Icon of our times. A man was a man & a woman was a woman in our times. Sure, there was Disco music that slowly changed our world, so did Luther. Luther was one of his kind. His album went platinum, silver & gold. The artist was all that. Died way too soon. R.I.P. and sadly missed today- 2024.
Abeautiful voice singing a beautiful melody to beautiful lyrics!
Luther was so, amazing!!!
Listening to Luther is like being transported into a beautiful dream. It's subjective as to who has the most beautiful voice but in my opinion it's Luther. This is my favorite version of this song.
I too was at that concert at wembley, still got the programme and ticket, he was simply brilliant, effortless....
It doesn't matter which size he is his voice is off the change. There will never be another
Luther-enough said
Who ever saw Luther Vandross at Wembley or Hammersmith odean we saw a absolute LEGEND
Omg! Twenty years later, Luther's voice still gives me chills and goose bumps. Saw Luther in concert with Patty Labelle what can I say ultimate singer.
R.I.P Luther Vandros.❤❤❤❤❤
What you mean! This is the king of music!! I missed this king and stilled listening today’s!! One love for the king and you guys! Keep going with show!! Beautiful couple!!
That echo effect in the beginning of the song was courtesy of his soundman. It was just on only at the beginning. He had his own sound crew and everything had to be perfect or he'll get on your case!
Still, he was one of the greatest male vocalists of our generation.
One of the finest and certainly the most soulful live song you will ever hear ! R.I.P Soul Man.
Absolutely mind boggling performance!!! How blessed we are to have had this man walk among us. A true talent in all respects.
SIMPLY UNDESCRIBABLE!!!❤
He is voice was phenomenal! RIP! This is one of my favorite songs by Luther Vandross! I also love “Dance With My Father”!❤❤
If you want to be more fun and upbeat by Luther, do STOP TO LOVE. Awesome song from his prime. great video too.
If you haven't already heard it. Please check out his cover of the Carpenters classic Superstar (1983).
Agreed! The video with the girl dancing on the piano.
@@Scott28k Yes exactly
Yes that's a version and a half!!!
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful just like both of you. Thank you thank you thank you
Luther has the greatest male voice ever.
Nothing or no one like him. Beauty from his soul. It’s so sweet watching you two love birds respond to Luther. Blessings♥️♥️♥️🔥
The Masterful Luther Vandross..the best version is when he sang in tribute to ms Dionne Warwick
His voice is amazing
This was that dude back in the day. He carried me from my mid-teens, all the way until he passed. What a gift to the world. Two other songs (out of many) that I think you'll like is Wait for Love, and So Amazing. Oh yeah, he's got some really cool upbeat songs too. Bad Boy (having a party) is one my favorites.
You know, it’s truly a pity that you all weren’t around in the 70’s and 80’s! But we love you for staying so dedicated to catching up!❤
A gift from God, a once in a lifetime voice
I've had the honor of seeing him live. There's nothing like it. His voice is so amazing and when you're in the same room with him, it feels like a dream.
I saw Luther at a small theater in the round where the stage circled. It was in L.A. I don't even remember which place it was but he was fabulous.
I would take myself out on a date to see Luther by myself and have a damn good time. Just me and Luther and thousands of other people. But it was just me and Luther. One of a kind...💖❤💗💓💕
I’m old enough to remember when “Never Too Much” was released. He appeared on Soul Train for the first time and sang this. The dancers were awestruck because rarely did performers sing live. Especially solos and brought the house down. Awesome
R I P LUTHER ❤ 🙏🕊 🕊 & THIS BEAUTIFUL🎶 IS ❤ WARMING. ❤ YOUR REACTIONS & I WAS WAITING FOR SHAWN TO 😭
BLESSINGS 🙏 FROM CALI
Luther was a vocal beast. His voice was exceptional. One of the best singers ever to do it.
FACTS!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖😁💖💖💖💖💖
This is one of my favourite songs in the world and for me there's only one person to sing it and that's Luther Vandross. He had master control over that beautiful voice... Dionne Warwick recorded it in 1964 and enjoyed modest success with it. Luther comes along 17 years later and sings it his way and it flies off the charts. 54 was way too young to be taken from us ❤💜❤
He is simply one of THE very best male vocalists to have ever lived or will ever live, in my opinion.
We were truly and absolutely blessed by God to be able to experience this Man’s voice, Thank God ! Rest in Peace although you are gone you will live forever in the music you have left ❤❤❤
👏🙌👋 I have been listening to this song since it first came out and it still slays me every time. The whole album is🔥💯 thanks for a great reaction✌️🎶
He had such a velvet voice.Tony
A House Is Not a Home" is a 1964 ballad written by the team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David for the 1964 film of the same name, starring Shelley Winters and Robert Taylor. Luther gives this song all of it's meaning. God gifted us with Luther!
This is the ultimate "I F'd up baby" song
There's only one Luther Vandross, love it, the voice, spectacular.
That is Luther at the top of his game.
I’m sorry it doesn’t get better than this …it just doesn’t !
Love You both ❤
The best part of the song is when he says, say you gonna be are you gonna be well well well well. He didn’t do that part.
By the way. I was surprised to find that this is a cover of Dionne Warwick’s song.
Gotta watch the NAACP awards with him...best performance of this song ever
Luther Has Hits On Top Of Hits! One Of The Greatest Balladeers & Vocalists Ever! He performed this song in a mesmerizing tribute to Dionne Warwick in 1988 I believe. Please react to Luther's " Because It's Really Love", " Love Won't Let Me Wait", a Major Harris remake. Enjoyed this reaction guys! ❤️
oh you guys are on a big roll today !! I love it and Luther has always been one of my all time favorites ! Goosebumps all over the place- Come on guys this deserves well over a thousand likes !!!
There is a reason he is called The Voice, and the only person i ever seen humble a prime Whiney Huston..
The fabulous 5: Luther Vandross, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke.
Jackie Wilson, Teddy Pendergrass, Peobo Bryson,
@@themajicman745 Just an elite 5, because if I add Jackie, why not David Ruffin, if I add Teddy, why, not Freddie Jackson, if I add Peobo, why not Jeffery Osbourne. etc. etc. lol
There was and always will be only one Luther! Greatest R&B singer ever. We were blessed to be alive while this man was on earth. RIP Luther
I love him and was devastated when he passed. WHAT A VOICE!!😊
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"GREATEST VOICE EVER"!
Can you imagine being in that audience? ❤💖💗
I got to see him live , he gave you powerful performance.
OMG no words for this man voice. Speechless 😶
Saw him in concert in London he was brilliant live
One of the many songs he covered and made his own originally recorded by his musical inspiration, the legendary Dionne Warwick.
Luther was the very best. What a great singer. Much love and respect.
Superstar...he absolutely slayed that song that night.
Best male vocalist to ever exist, one of the first songs I heard of his was superstar and after that I knew I just listen to one of the most timeless artist ever RIP Luther❤️
Only Luther could sing THIS SONG THE BEST!!! WHAT A TALENT AND LEGACY!!!!
Omg grew up listening to Luther ❤
That voice just cocoons you. He could sing Three Blind Mice and take it to the stratosphere. Incredible talent and taken way too soon ❤
Can you feel that’s!!!!!❤❤❤❤
I was blessed to have seen him in concert. What a talent!😊
How many people know Luther started out singing on Sesame Street.
I've seen him perform twice Live He was Phenomenal to see😍RIP My Love😍
I loved me some big Luther!! Rest In Power
He was also a really kind person 🙏🏾
His voice was sore from the trip over the pond.....and he still killt it....
