G'day folks, RUclips's taking a bloody long time to process the HD version of this video. We'll sit tight for a bit in the hope that it switches from 360p to HD soon... UPDATE: Looks like it's sorted itself out. Goodonyas!
Literally a Legend. A teacher , husband , father , friend , roll model and a youtuber. He offers so much wisdom through example , and the creative way in which he lives his life is definetly worthy of the title Legend!
I'm sure there are a number of people who have actually come here to Beau's channel from the actual interview, and to all of you I'd just like to say that it's really worth sticking around to watch what else this man has done. You won't regret it.
I agree! This man is one of the best creators on this platform and that is no exaggeration! beaus outlook on life is one I think we all should share, at least even just a little bit :)
Beau! Early that morning i was on my way to hospital with my wife, she was ready to pop and about to give birth, I was sitting in the car ponding on life and all the things ahead and I notice a guy running up King Street with a wheelbarrow. I had only recently watched all your films and I thought, that has to be Beau! Sure enough it was, thats me yelling from the car at the 14 minute mark, on my way to hospital with my wife about to give birth. Later that day i was sitting in the labor ward with my wife who was holding my lovely daughter and I looked at her and said, " I just cant believe I saw Beau today!!" Love your stuff mate.
That guy Instantly knew it was beau even from the back because who else would be running a wheel barrow with a chair in it through the streets of Sydney😂
He has a PhD in Adventure Education; he used to lecture at Monash but apparently quit in 2021, I think he mentions being unemployed in the Junk Wine video.
Hi Beau, I'm from Romania and I really enjoy watching your videos. Your positive attitude and the amazing skills of your editor are really making my day!
Beau, you are such an inspiring soul. Im an 18 y/old bloke, currently in a gap year, not knowing what to do or choose, kinda lost and just trying a bunch of new and old stuff. But every time i watch any of your videos, be it woodworking, camping, or running, my inspiration and hope get revitalised and i start thinking about the many many MANY things i can do in all this free time that can be fun and healthy for me and the planet, and most importantly can help me grow as a person... I started going our more and even started some running because of you! Thank you for everything mate and good luck on all the future endeavours!
Good on you mate. If you are having trouble working out your path in life there's a series written by a bloke called Robert Kiyosaki. Start with Rich Dad Poor Dad & progress through his series. Whatever you do, plan on NOT being an employee. Best of luck mate.
If you want to be a grocer, or a general, or a politician, or a judge, you will invariably become it; that is your punishment. Because of these videos (the original wombled wood paddle video) I now collect wood from around Amsterdam and make stuff in my free time. The first thing I made was a bench from palettes and and old plank. It sits proudly outside of my house.
Beau inspired me to get up early and run in the mornings, it's a very simple thing but as a dad this has change my life and given me so much more energy, thanks Beau
Beau- You wise guy. You goof ball! Wonderful of course. Too fun and of course a great message. I love your work. I love that you make up you own adventures. You are Beau and that is your gift. Thank you. Best, Steve aka The Talking Fly
Beau is one my Fav aussie youtubers watched every video he put out 10/10 Dont we all like free junk for that handy build fixer upper job Reminds me of the Guy with a Wheelbarrow story walks on a ship dressed like a worker The Security never gave him a 2nd thought xd A few weeks L8tr he Lifted/stole $10,000,s goods from shipping containers power tools elect and pc stuff he covered them with a bit old rubbish as he left the ship Ha! :)
Im a 36 year old American male and Beau makes me giggle like a little girl every time I see his videos. Since discovering him for myself a few weeks ago I've gotten my hands on some good second hand tools and just began experimenting... and starting with making some of the things I own better. I can't wait to make more space for my own workshop!
Beau renews my hope for humanity, he has a rare soul that is difficult to find and comes along once or twice in a lifetime. Keep up the good deeds, you’re appreciated!!!!!
Beau, I love your films and your incredible storytelling. What you and Mitch are creating there (on a not so regular basis, but often enough) is so captivating and just so different to anyone else out there. I'm hoping my videos will reach that level one day. In the meantime I'm learning a lot from you! Thank you and keep doing what you're doing!
Beau, can I just say, as a high school student, you make me excited for my future. Every single one of your videos I have watched and absolutely loved. Whenever I'm going through a rough time I always end up at your channel- I guess it sits as a reminder for me of all the good that can come out of little and how we can always treat our world and environment with a little more kindness. You are just incredible, thank you.
Your videos are amazing Beau! Im a fellow environmentalist from Charleston, South Carolina. I love cleaning up any trash while kayaking in the many rivers and creeks that we have here. Your content is so creative and shares a positive message with each video. Keep doing what you are doing brother
Great stuff as always. I recently purchased a house and I’m a carpenter so I’ve been filling the garden with leftover wood from jobs. I’m driving the wife mental but when I make stuff from beautiful old reclaimed wood she is happy out. It’s extremely satisfying and something I’ve craved to do for a long time. Cheers from an Irish lad on the Sunshine Coast BC Canada.
You must have access to some excellent wood in that part of the world. British Columbia has always looked beautiful to me, like paradise. Ireland always looks stunning too. You'll have to come visit us Aussies one day - being Irish and Canadian means you'll get double the love here.
Beau, you're an inspiration bud. I watch you from the U.S. (Virginia). And while I can't make much out of scrap wood (yet), I pick up trash when I run nowadays. It's amazing how much litter I find alongside the lakes, streams, and creeks where I live. To the naked eye, the area is clean. But once you start paying attention more, you see all the styrofoam packing peanuts, vape cartridges, discount papers, beer bottles and cans, etc. that are just waiting for a nice wind to drop 'em off into the water or the woods. Take care.
I'm convinced you are a machine, a well-made and very entertaining machine. I've watched so many of your videos and I'm always left shaking my head at your inexhaustible energy and curiosity.
Beau, I really think yours are the just about the best made videos on RUclips. But behind the editing, behind the humor, the elongated arms, I really love your message. Keeping usable wood out of the landfill, giving wood a second life, creating a beautiful and usable item. Cheers from west Texas.
Genuinely makes my day whenever you upload, it's beyond impressive how much humanity and beauty you can impart in simple things. You paint a picture and a journey that would make steinbeck smile.
Not everyone would’ve the confidence to go on a national television in dirty work clothes after running all day yesterday and the show day. I love that attitude. You’re inspiration! Big love!
People idolize garbage non contributing people of society and life and there's gems like Beau out here making the world a better place with one scrap of wood at a time. Underrated man you are Beau
This is awesome. When he showed us the wood rings, I saw a great pattern on nice material. He saw the story behind the wood, the years it endured. This man.
Thank you so much Beau! You remind me that even with all the stupid stuff going on in the world, WE are what can make life wonderfully wacky and worth living.
aw jeez beau, you never fail to lift my spirits. I deal with a lot of chronic physical and mental illness, which can make basic daily tasks very difficult, especially as a self employed artist. your videos and the messages you convey throughout them give my wonky brain/body such a helpful kick in the right direction, I can't thank you enough for the countless slumps your work has helped me out of. goodonya mate x
I love seeing my city in this way hahahaha I've been on those exact streets every other day for the last decade for uni and work, and can recognize every street in the periphery but it's crazy how many details I don't notice and how different the energy is looking through someone else's eyes with such a different purpose. Definitely kicking myself for not grabbing more palettes around UTS now hahaha Watching your other videos, I've known how much of a champ you are at running - but far out watching you teleport from darling harbour over to bloody newtown within the day while exploring all over the botanical gardens really puts it in perspective.
I just love this, making new things from junk wood. There is a hardware store less than 100 ft away from my house and I get decent pallets for re-purpose every now and then. Most people just burn them.
Initially I was against painting the chair. Then, seeing it painted blue, it just made sense. All it needs now is to have CHEP painted on it too. 👍🏼 Incredible work Milesy.
Woke up, sat down to watch a quick RUclips video while eating breakfast, new Beau video! Despite the rain its looking like it'll be a good day. Sending love from a very damp and autumnal UK. I miss that Sydney sunshine
I love Beau's capacity for joy. "How can you not be excited about that. Look at all those springtimes" genuinely affected me, such a beautiful perspective on life
One thing that I've learned from watching your videos the last few years is this-You are always the same person no matter who you are around. What a great characteristic. It's one of my favorite things about a person and something many can learn from. Keeping being yourself, Mr. Miles!
Awesome as usual. I’d love for you to build more things and show people how to make things. I’m in the process of gathering pallets to build my cats their own house. I haven’t a clue. Being a 70 year old woman with no building or design, should be a palace. Your river video should be awarded the best horror video of all time. It’s made me more aware of my environment and I pick up rubbish. It’s amazing how much is out there. Thanks 🙏🏼 for making this serious issue, fun and exciting
Beau is probably the most respectful, the most humble and the smartest man on the internet, I cannot say on Earth but I am about that to do. This is the feeling I have watching his video. I always have good time. I like this guy, I wish I can meet him.
Big Love from Scotland Beau, Thank you for the inspiration to do something more with my life, I started with finding pallets, used old Facebook market for old hand tools and now i am loving the sensation of a good plane against a bit of timber. Got the book ordered and on the way and look forward to more and more content. thanks again mate hopefully i can meet you in-person one day and say it to your face keep up the stellar work.
The sheer amount of comments aimed towards how much of an impact your videomaking and attitude towards life has us on all is mindblowing. The world needs more Beaus.
Need more Videos of Beau's Adventures. Spent all week going through his videos now i've watched them all and just want more. Goodonya mate what a Legend!
Your stories are definitely good enough to watch in 360p. Even helped me through a stretch of migraine today. Don't think I could've handled full HD. Good on ya, mate!
Beau says be gentle in life. But approaches life with such enthusiasm and aggressive adventurousness. With humor and creativity. Living the dream, making it a dream. Cheers for making your life balance this.
Ahh, absolutely fantastic. It's absolutely amazing to see a like minded person who try's to do their bit for the planet and society. Use, reuse, recycle. If only more people in today's day and age would do this sort of thing instead of throwing away we'd be much better off. When my grandfather was alive, he'd do the same sort of thing. Making stuff out of disused items and thrown away stuff from peoples rubbish and the tip. He was a real handy man when it came to that sort of thing. Kudos to this bloke. 👍😁👏👏👏👏
Absoulute beauty of a video. Throughly enjoyed it. Collecting junk wood in the UK (Specifically, Yorkshire) is a Bonfire Night (5th Nov. Guy Fawkes) tradition and goes by the name of 'Chumping'. So usually to burn, despite this, the joy of finding it is all fun!!
G'day folks, RUclips's taking a bloody long time to process the HD version of this video. We'll sit tight for a bit in the hope that it switches from 360p to HD soon... UPDATE: Looks like it's sorted itself out. Goodonyas!
Hey, I feel you. Happens to me all the time. What I do now are scheduled uploads so RUclips has at least 10h to process the video. I wish you luck!
Good on you Beau, I'll do just that. This one looks like a ripper. Was awesome to meet you a few weeks back in Christchurch ;-)
Better for the environment to watch in 360p anyway ;)
@@pickuptrash Great channel!!!
Watched 8 seconds before i tried to manually change and got chooked. "Only 360p?!"
Being recognized on the street while covered from head to toe, what a legend

“Look at all those spring times” that’s a great line right there.

I'm still not sure what Beau does for a living, but he sure is living the life.
He’s a college professor
University Lecturer at one of the big Melbourne/Vic Universities.
He has a PhD in Adventure Education; he used to lecture at Monash but apparently quit in 2021, I think he mentions being unemployed in the Junk Wine video.
What I love about this channel is you can never tell what's coming next. Great video Beau!
Probably a video tho
totally agreed, something loosely around "backyard adventure" and maybe "environmentalism" but it really is just a grab bag of awesomeness.

The sheer amount of comments aimed towards how much of an impact your videomaking and attitude towards life has us on all is mindblowing. The world needs more Beaus.
A back drop of beautiful Land Rovers.
this man needs a Nobel Prize or something
Need more Videos of Beau's Adventures. Spent all week going through his videos now i've watched them all and just want more. Goodonya mate what a Legend!
So happy you're receiving even more recognition for your eccentric and creative ways! Very inspiring.
Beau you are a true legend mate
Your stories are definitely good enough to watch in 360p. Even helped me through a stretch of migraine today. Don't think I could've handled full HD. Good on ya, mate!
huh?
Beau says be gentle in life. But approaches life with such enthusiasm and aggressive adventurousness. With humor and creativity. Living the dream, making it a dream. Cheers for making your life balance this.

I'm not from there, but I think Beau is achieving a Ned Kelly level of legendary in Australia
Gee, easy on there slugger. That's lofty stuff. Old Ned is a famous dude- and what a tragic story too. But thanks Nugget. I'll take it.
Made my week watching your enthusiasm for life . Thank you.
First to watch a Beau film is a good feeling 👌🏻
Ahh, absolutely fantastic. It's absolutely amazing to see a like minded person who try's to do their bit for the planet and society. Use, reuse, recycle. If only more people in today's day and age would do this sort of thing instead of throwing away we'd be much better off.
When my grandfather was alive, he'd do the same sort of thing. Making stuff out of disused items and thrown away stuff from peoples rubbish and the tip. He was a real handy man when it came to that sort of thing. Kudos to this bloke. 👍😁👏👏👏👏
Always love to see an upload from ya Beau, Sydney loves ya. ❤️
I love you too Beau and I'm Canadian!!
Your becoming a national hero Beau, don't ever stop!
