    Playing games at a high level is always very interesting. Like, I think it's amusing how Murkrow is so omnipresent as a ready answer to Dondozo, and yet, in this tournament there isn't a single Dondozo in sight.

    • @PoisonFlower765
      @PoisonFlower765 Год назад +34

      It's the metagame triangle.
      The standard meta game is beaten by a countermeta, the countermeta gets so popular that people stop using the standard meta and build counters around the countermeta, and in a healthy meta, that countercountermeta usually doesn't fare well against the standard meta. Meta.

    • @123christianac
      @123christianac Год назад +16

      You got it backwards. Murkrow is a good Pokemon in general. Being the only Prankster Tailwind setter gives it a monopoly on instant Tailwind support. It was going to be used regardless of other Pokemon because of that.
      On the flip side, Dondozo is only good if you don't have an answer to it. Murkrow being common as a Tailwind setter means that it is everywhere. Since it can Haze away Dondozo's boosts away, running Dondozo isn't a good idea. That's why you didn't see any.
      To put it simply, Murkrow isn't run to as counter to Dondozo, but it can easily invalidate it. Because of this, you don't see Dondozo because it gets hard countered by a fairly common Pokemon.

    Wolfey makes it so easy to understand his thinking, matchups, and what makes plays so good. It's very welcomed that he focuses purely on his own gameplay and doesn't diss others even when he loses. Sometimes there are bad matchups and sometimes people are outplayed. I can't believe Wolfey took the credit from Bonus Wolfe and posted it onto his own channel. It's behaviour like this that shouldn't be tolerated by our world champ

    Wolfey, are you going to do a video about "The Elite Eight" italian invitational, with Cunha, Castilla, Arash and other pro-players? It was a good example of "how the Tera gimmick is going to shape the competitive?". I remember you were in the chat, while you were watching it on Twitch (now it can be found on youtube "Cydonia e Chiara" channel).

    As I am very new to this and impressed by Wolfe’s workflow, I would like to know if competitive Pokémon players do breed their mons ? Is it possible to gen them ? Any info regarding that ?

      He's said in several videos that he will often crowdsource his Pokémon so he'll have 6 people including himself to get the team together. Said that's an advantage of his name recognition

      Most comp players breed mons, then bottle cap them. The new games made it rlly easy to get comp pkmn.

    wtf I find the Pokemon tournament scene incredibly complicated. I would love to participate in tournaments this year to win these championship points, but I don't know how and where to enter those tournaments. Can you also win these points in online tournaments, or does it only work in local tournaments? Because the only local tournament near me is 6 hours away. That can't be, right?

    I am not gonna lie, I was "watching" this vid as background noise on my second monitor... But after seeing how top level the editing and presentation was during the team building section I knew I had to pause whatever else I was doing and REALLY sit down and watch this vid, and I'm glad I did! Phenomenal vid Wolfey, easily the best vid this year so far (wink) and massive kudos to your editing team!
