- I am very intentional with my time, so I'm mostly alone, using the time to work on myself rather than socializing. Though this has brought a lot of growth and I am very at peace, I feel lonely sometimes.
I made this video to remind myself to slow down sometimes, and stay connected with people that you love and care about. Time becomes more finite as we age, so take the opportunity to carve out some quality time for family and friends, appreciate, enjoy and have fun!

AHHHHH!! That's also something that I've been realizing more and more along the way. I really want to become the best version of myself, but I also can't neglect my family & relationships. It sounds really sad to think about but who knows, you never know if it's the last time you're ever going to see them.

Every time I meet friends again to catch up I just feel way older everytime we talk as if I am the only one stuck in high school while I am already 24 finished Uni now workng but i still feel like I am a child compared to everyone else. It always feels like everyone else knows what they want to do and have done way more things than me in life. And then theres the pressure from family especially when I am an chinese asian sigh. Although I still enjoy the ocasional reuinons with old friends always happy for their success unlike mine.
Uh, I resonate with this! Like yourself, I often on my own (or this is just the INFJ thingy for me) and sometimes really need to snap myself out of it and be reminded that we are social beings. Still something I'm trying to improve as well. Anyway, love your channel! You are a great story teller, keep it up! 😉

Yeah, it's becoming kind of the understatement of the decade that friends are actually some of the most important part of your life (probably more than career or marriage, or even family). Might sound like a platitude but they're the family we choose, therefore the ones we might spend the longest in our lifetime. Not necessarily our entire lives (contrary to common belief, yes, even solid childhood friendships that lasted for more than 30 years can end, I got a few a good examples of that in my life), but most certainly one of the longest and most solid relationships we can have with someone else.
Humans are animals, and every animals need socializing. None of us is a "lone wolf" (which btw, wouldn't survive very long in the wild).
I can imagine that your generation has been especially screwed up, having grown in an age where Social media was already there from the get go, Tinder and other dating apps are now the norm for dating (I come from an age before that, when dating was still a face to face thing, where one single mistake at confessing to your high school crush in the open could lead to a very embarrassing semester down the line if it didn't go well, but seeing the dating apps thing from this generation, I still believe I grew up in the last time we were in a somewhat normal world), and having been through the pandemic through your college years must have been especially excruciating to socializing, getting to know friends and/or lovers, and have fun among people your age, which screwed up lots of your generation's ability to socialize, made them all the more reliant to social media as a big band-aid on a ripped-off limb, and put a lot of you in an ever more lonelier and prone to depression state. And I truly feel sorry for all of you.
I really hope you guys can somehow recover from it at some point in your future. I'm already seeing lot of youngsters intentionally getting rid of social media as a whole, or at least severly liminting their use of it, and I see that as an encouraging first step. Face to face is still THE sh*t.
Love the "if it's not a Hell yeah, then it's a no" mentality, but this sounds like something a 40 yo person would say (we are indeed shorter of time and energy, so we have to save it for the things that really matters, which, thankfully, by that time, we have enough life experience to see right from the get go if it's a good or a bad idea).
You, on the other hand might be a bit too early in your life to apply that mentality.
You still look super young, you still got a lot of things to experiment in life and not every single one of them will start with a hell yeah ! but unbeknownst to you, some of them might lead to life changing moments !
For example, you'd be surprised by how many of my friends in their 40's, in solidly married couples for more than 10-15 years, or even 20 years, where the girls told me that when their couple started, it was a tepid "meh" or "Eeeh, I don't know about this" for them at first. Fast forward 20 years later and a few kids and they're the happiest they've ever been.
Sometimes, the best journey starts with a tepid first step.
So give it a go. Have fun !

i find comfort from this quote by bukowski whenever i feel lonely: 'beware those who seek constant crowds. they are nothing alone.'
it reminds me that there is something right about where i am when i am by myself. there is so much to learn about me and when i am alone is an opportunity for me to be something to me. to have a soul. something that nobody could ever take away from me.
i know it can really be difficult without company. after all, no man is an island. but if we take time to be something to ourselves by being a friend to ourselves when we are alone, would that not lead to finding more genuine and deeper connections when we get back out there? for sure, it comes with a price because not many people have souls. but at least that would make "out there" a little less crazy than we think.

To lead a fulfilling and meaningful life, it's important to embrace solitude and use time wisely, even though this inevitably leads to loneliness. While being alone can offer peace and comfort, sometimes having someone to converse with is essential. This's how ambiverts find balance between isolation and companionship. Nonetheless, the love we receive from family and lifelong friends is truly unconditional.

lately i've been thinking a lot about my current friends and how our relationships will be in the future.
i'm dutch taiwanese and am have been dating my taiwanese gf for over 2 years and was always dreaming to move to taiwan. i currently still study in the netherlands and made some good friends here but wonder if we'll still be friends 5 years from now or if i were to move to taiwan. it does scare me to think about having to make new friends again in a whole new country where i do not speak the language well and that i might become isolated and be very dependent on my gf. hopefully i will be okay in the future, but will try to focus on the current and spend time with my friends here
May I ask how u deal with captions both in English and mandarin? Btw, I really like your sense of aesthetic and choice of music! Great work!
