SupaPixelGirl This was basically Capcom's prime time as well, that indigo box was a sure sign of quality! I think they did the Magical Quest series and Aladdin as well if I recall correctly
I had this game on gameboy. It is exactly the same as the NES. You didn't mention that you can hold the up button and Darkwing will pull his cape over his face and block projectiles that most of the enemies throw.
This was one of my favorite games and one of my favorite TV shows as a kid. I played the hell out of this. This was a game I wish was remade like Ducktails. My dad recently found a boxed Darkwing Duck toy he bought for me years ago. I had already gotten one from my grandma thus not opened. I also had most of the toys to. I did get the DVD's for Christmas, but they never released season 3... which is weird. Also that's the one thing about this game that bothered me... no Negaduck.
Loving the playthrough videos, Thanks Mike. I like how everyone else just complains about how crappy some games are and you just dive in and show em how its done.
I had the Game Boy version as a kid, I remember playing it in the car on road trips. Man the nostalgia...I don't know what happened to a handful of my Game Boy and NES games, they just came up missing a long time ago. I've been rebuilding my collection over time but I still need to get another version of this.
Duck Tales, Chip n Dale and Adventures in the Magic Kingdom were the Capcom NES Disney games I owned as a kid, and the ones I liked the most. I also had Mickey Mousecapade (got it with the NES and 7 other games for Christmas as a kid), but that's made by Hudson Soft and only published by Capcom. Honestly, I think I had the best games. The Tale Spin and The Little Mermaid games didn't look interesting to me back then, even though I liked the original products they were based on. And for Darkwing Duck? Well, 1992 says it all. We're talking post-SNES release here (even though I didn't get the SNES until Christmas that year).
Felipe Zapata that was one of my favorite underrated NES games as a kid. I still haven't completely beaten it to this day. when I get some time to focus on it I'll run thru it. lol
The only thing I didn't like about Bucky O Hare was the fact that it looked like it had a Megaman level select but you had to do the worlds in a set order, otherwise the game was awesome, would love to see it again.
I'm not into the over-the-top fake enthusiasm thing, I'd rather be real. I enjoyed this game a lot. It's a nicely designed Capcom title, even if it is in large part a Mega Man clone. Thanks for watching -Mike
I remember Moss Man from Masters of the Universe, but I never heard of evil seed. And I collected as many of those toys as I could when I was a kid. Still have them, too.
There was a guy I was at university with who knew I liked MOTU, and would always bring up Evilseed like he was one of the main villains or something. Dude was in literally ONE episode (this was just before the Mike Young series) and didn't even have an action figure!
Nice playthrough Mike, I prefer these full playthroughs over James & Mike mondays and Mike & Ryan, because you don´t ruin these with cutting. Do full playthroughs with James or Ryan. This game is made with same engine than Mega man 5, so it have very noble heredity.
No, he's right. Evilseed was a Filmation-created villain that didn't get a toy until either the re-imagined series or the recent Classics line. He caused trouble for both He-Man and Skeletor and powers similar to Bushroot or Poison Ivy.
4:00 I know what you mean, Mike. It's a shame Playmates never did series 2. They had prototypes made up and shown off at the New York Toy Fair but they never got farther than that: it would have filled out the roster more and we were even going to see a Gizmoduck Figure!
If you change from Arrow Gas in mid-flight, it drops straight down and often floats in the air long enough to cause a second hit. You can also use this to kill enemies way below your shooting path. The game also runs on the same engine as Mega Man 5.
This was one of my favorite games as a kid! I was never able to beat it though!
Thanks for this video, well done, Mike!
One of my favorite cartoons of the 90's.
Yes it's in my top 5.
Intimidation agree!
mcclanehallenbeck This and..Batman the animated series, X Men, Spider-Man animated series (90s) Animaniacs..Fox kids...Etc.
Freakazoid, Ren & Stimpy, Earthworm Jim, Sam & Max, The Critic...
It was alright. I liked it a lot as well, but I watched it recently and thought... this isn't as good as Ducktales.
I am the parking meter that's left unattended.
Wolfduck is the only character created exclusively for the NES/Gameboy game, having no presence in fiction prior.
Robin Hindrikson There was a Game boy game of this?
One of THE BEST 8-bit Soundtracks EVER!!! Every song is just so damn catchy!
The old Disney games were so good.
SupaPixelGirl This was basically Capcom's prime time as well, that indigo box was a sure sign of quality! I think they did the Magical Quest series and Aladdin as well if I recall correctly
Stalking huh? That's a nice game too.
Especially the LJN once
Coby Twice what game are you referring to?
I was always a huge fan of The Little Mermaid on NES, it's freaking legit
Edit: Also Chip N' Dale. CLASSIC
"I am the terror that flaps in the night! I am the wrong number that wakes you up at 3am! I, am Darkwing Duck!"
I had this game on gameboy. It is exactly the same as the NES. You didn't mention that you can hold the up button and Darkwing will pull his cape over his face and block projectiles that most of the enemies throw.

.....And here's Mike coming off a heavy night of drinking and smokin bowls. Love it.
Loving the playthrough videos, Thanks Mike. I like how everyone else just complains about how crappy some games are and you just dive in and show em how its done.
You make this look so much easier than I remember it being.
Also, that was amazing, I don't think you died even once, getting close a few times, really amazing gameplay!
Very nicely Done Mike. This was one of my first NES games I played back in the Good ol 90s.
Hard to believe Darkwing Duck is old enough to have had a game on the NES. Maybe it took a while to come to the UK
I loved Darkwing Duck. Miss that show so much.
Yeah, the music of those old capcom games are so good! Like it competes with most classical music composing wise.
Man Mike, you really zipped through this game like it was nothing!
It takes Mike 25 minutes to beat the whole game. I couldn't even get past the first boss when I was a kid.
I used to have that Megavolt action figure as a kid also. I remember you could smell the plastic burning a little bit when you lit up the sparks.
"See you later, Terminator," is a decent catchphrase. If only there were a cooler way to say "See you later."
Loved the Darkwing Duck show as a kid. Also love the comic series that's out right now.
I had the Game Boy version as a kid, I remember playing it in the car on road trips. Man the nostalgia...I don't know what happened to a handful of my Game Boy and NES games, they just came up missing a long time ago. I've been rebuilding my collection over time but I still need to get another version of this.
I like the NES Mega Man games. I'll have to check it out.
The track around 4:35 really reminded me of Spider Dance from Undertale!
Absolutely killing it while revealing how much you know the show 😂🤘🏻
Love these playthroughs
I only had like 7 NES games growing up, they were all games I got from my cousins. this was one of them. this game was very amazing.

Thanks for prompting me with dozens of excuses to break out with my favorite theme song.
Nice to see your fandom on display, mike.
I used to have the rat catcher toy as a kid also. it felt awkward asking my parents for a "rat catcher" for Christmas. lol
I still have this on the original GameBoy. Never did finish it though. Seeing this makes me want to play it again.
I love how a Sherlock Holmes reference is followed by a TNG reference without comment, some of the best episodes for sure.
Never even knew this existed and I love the show.
Good game. Great playthrough. Thanks, Mike.
play bucky o hare please!
I second that motion.
Felipe Zapata bucky o hare was one of those games that showed what the nes was really capable of :)
Felipe Zapata the bosses in that game are really impressive.
Most enthusiastic intro yet. Who pissed in your cheerios Mike?
I'm not into the over-the-top fake enthusiasm thing, I'd rather be real. I enjoyed this game a lot. It's a nicely designed Capcom title, even if it is in large part a Mega Man clone. Thanks for watching -Mike
Understood Mike. You did plow through this one with ease it seemed since you were concentrating. Keep up the great work.
it's more real that way/reminds me of my own playthroughs, keep 'em comin' man, it's interesting the way you choose to play shit.
"Let's get Dangerous"
NICE! I used to play this at my cousins all the time.
My favorite game growing up :D cool to see you playing it (also commenting while you're hanging around :))
This is one of the bestest NES games. The game is not too hard. The music is good. I even still play this on my PSP.
I loved Darkwing Duck as a kid!
Great Video Mike. the 80's Heman villain you were thinking of was Evil Seed.
You should do more of these full playthroughs like this and SMB the lost levels :D
Thank you for this. My day is a little bit brighter because of this. Or should I say, a little bit... darker?
I cannot beat the ending boss. The bane of my NES collection
I remember Moss Man from Masters of the Universe, but I never heard of evil seed. And I collected as many of those toys as I could when I was a kid. Still have them, too.
One of my favorite shows as a kid, and loved the game although I never got very far in it
Quakcer jacks stage music is stuck in my head
one of my favorite games growing up....
I had the motorcycle Keychain toy that had a working headlight when you squeeze it.
The Liquidator is more a spoof of Hydroman then the Teminator
I never played this until much later, but the Mega Man parallel is spot on
I loved this game as a kid. Yes even as a kid I noticed the MegaMan influences. Never beat it. Happy to see my favorite LPer tackle this game.
i remember this game very well and i did beat when i was a kid
There was a guy I was at university with who knew I liked MOTU, and would always bring up Evilseed like he was one of the main villains or something. Dude was in literally ONE episode (this was just before the Mike Young series) and didn't even have an action figure!
I'd love to see an HD update of Darkwing Duck AND Tales Spin too!
its darkwing duck on disney afternoon 🎶 its darkwing duck on disney afternooooon 🎶
can u and James play jet set radio on dream cast?
ivar sandberg yes they can
Davidrozone G. hurray
Kos4Evr 👍
I'd love to see James and Mike play base wars for the NES, one of my favorites
Loved this on Gameboy, the opening gave me goosebumps!
one of my favorite game of all times
I never played this one but it looks fun. Pretty cool soundtrack, too, like most Capcom games.
this game looks fun
If you can get a game boy copy it is the same thing you should get it if you can't get nes one
The graphics are actually spectacular.
I love this game, I haven't played this one in 20...ish... years
Damn! As soon as I saw you post on Twitter,I knew I had to be ready for this.
Capcom and Disney made some magic during those years.😌
Nice playthrough Mike, I prefer these full playthroughs over James & Mike mondays and Mike & Ryan, because you don´t ruin these with cutting. Do full playthroughs with James or Ryan.
This game is made with same engine than Mega man 5, so it have very noble heredity.
If you hold "up" on the d-pad you lift your cape to deflect shots. Took me like 20 years to realize.
Great playthru the tunes are so good.
I love this game, I played and beat it not that long ago myself actually.
The last boss can be pretty tough until you get the pattern down.
i like how you could hang off stuff nice idea for a game
oh i remember evil seed, i member
I once played "Rockman 5", and it was a modded version of Darkwing Duck with a yellow Megaman/Rockman instead of Darkwing.
Holy shit you are good at this game Mike. You definitely can tell you played this as a kid.
I remember the darkwing duck toys.Sadly the second line of figures never got released at the time.
Really suprised Mike didn't say anything on the Moliarty stage where squirrels are throwing their nuts at him xD
The plane I believe was called the thunder quacker. I remember getting to steelbeak and then losing when renting this game from the store
I had this as a kid, never beat it. This video encouraged me to break it back out. I WILL beat Darkwing Duck tonight
Played so much of this game
You are a beast, Mike. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! -Mike
The Darkwing Duck comic book currently being published by Joe Books is excellent!
Moss Man is whom you were thinking of,Mike.
No, he's right. Evilseed was a Filmation-created villain that didn't get a toy until either the re-imagined series or the recent Classics line. He caused trouble for both He-Man and Skeletor and powers similar to Bushroot or Poison Ivy.
There's bonus stages on each level too, have to shoot in the right direction and jump into the "portal"
4:00 I know what you mean, Mike. It's a shame Playmates never did series 2. They had prototypes made up and shown off at the New York Toy Fair but they never got farther than that: it would have filled out the roster more and we were even going to see a Gizmoduck Figure!
@Mike_Matei , fantastic work as always , you've got true skill.
one of the many awesome Capcom games
Mike: "alrite, this game is easy".... as he skips fighting all the enemies
If you change from Arrow Gas in mid-flight, it drops straight down and often floats in the air long enough to cause a second hit. You can also use this to kill enemies way below your shooting path. The game also runs on the same engine as Mega Man 5.
Used to play the crap out of this as a kid.Good job,Mike!
That was a GREAT cartoon.
17:24 - I remember, but Evilseed was in only one episode (in the original series, anyway), as far as I remember.
I used to rent this game a lot. I like the music. used to love the show.
There's something strange
In the Bushroot Woods...
Who you gonna call?
Dark Wingduck!
I love this game! Glad I own this Gem!! Awesome video mike!
One of the greatest platform game on NES, I think.
Nice playthrough. Be cool if you played Earthworm Jim on SNES!
I LOVE this game!
I believe Evilseed was in one of the earliest He-Man episodes of Season 1. I have all 4 seasons on dvd but not the Christmas special.
Those precise jumps
Do you know who did the voice of darkwing duck in the cartoon
Jim Cummings
Jim Cummings
This game looks so good
