  • My Workout Routine Post-DOUBLE MASTECTOMY (7-12 weeks). I documented my workouts after my surgery and this video provides a breakdown of what I did week by week. These exercises were in addition to my daily rehab exercises.
I was cautious and ensured that all exercises were pain-free, with no pulling at my incision sites and reduced activation of my chest muscles, especially in the earlier weeks.

What exercises have you gotten back to after surgery? Any that you haven't?

Thank you for your help Erica. They were my concerns but my communication with my dr is problematic to say the least. Thank you again for taking the time

    Hi Erica
Thank you for another great video. I need your input with something ' I got under the muscle expanders 5 years post mastectomy. I began working out again 3 weeks post op. The Dr filled the expander to a good volume but it is still high up. He told me to wait a good 6 months to see how my tissues will react. I was wondering if having the expander under the muscle and doing crossfit is preventing it from sitting lower as it should. Can you please give me some advice? Thank you

I’ve heard other women given the advice from their surgeon - “wait for the expanders to drop” …or same thing with implants. My expander placement stayed the same the whole time they were in and mine were in for 13 months. I worked out throughout this time period. My expanders were slightly higher than my implants but never looked too high. I’m not sure how working out/CrossFit would prevent the expander from dropping. How long have the expanders been in for? Are they over or under the muscle?

Mine are in since September and my last filling was in February. My dr said no more fillings for at least three months and we'll see how they settle. They are under the muscle and I still workout at least 3 times a week

@@dora20 Is your Dr. is concerned about you working out? The placement may just be higher in your case. It's definitely important to talk to your Dr. about your implant placement before your exchange surgery...in terms of what to expect.
