@shahee6579 For stretching in general, you can split it into 30 second holds. For learning deep squat, you can go for longer such as 1 or 2 minute holds. If you can already do 1 hold for 10 minutes, you probably have that movement sufficiently mastered.

That means you'll progress quickly though. I've been doing calisthenics for years, in the past I could do 1-2 stretch sessions a week and saw significant improvement (due to my formerly sedentary lifestyle), now 3 years in it takes a lot longer and a lot more focused effort to achieve noticeable progress. Right now it's great for you, you can do basically any stretches and you'll notice improvements very quickly.

It's mean that strech is too advanced for you.
Strech isn't suppose to hurt, but to relax the muscles and the mind, so if you feel any pain or disconfort, I suggest to not go too far or to simply find another exercice to not hurt your joints.
Another thing, we are not build equally.
Some folks could do it waking up in the morning, without doing any regual physics exercices, while some gym instructors would never reach a few positions.
Another thing, your body needs to warm up a bit, it will prevent injuries and allow you to go a bit further.
Long deep breathing to help you relax will also help you improve your streching.
      Take care 😉

Have you seen how gorillas or toddlers squat? Their backs are ''live", it looks like they are pushing their stomach and chest out. They keep a curve in their low back. That curve also keeps them from getting injured. When your feet are on the floor and you're in a squat you could try keeping your spine straight, shoulders back, and lean forward with your hips. May take time yet work on keeping your feet on the floor, staying in a squat, shoulders back, shoulders passing between your and your chest going to the floor. Also in the squat put the inside of your hands together, elbows on the inside of your knees and push your knees outward to your left and right. This helps to open the hips. Eventually having your feet on the floor, elbows on the inside of your knees and your hands no longer touching because you have improved flexibility so much.

At 38 I still sit like that often, I love the looks of people when I sit and stand up easy 🤷‍♀️

Definitely going to do this. When I do a deep squat, I feel myself getting on the balls of my feet rather than staying planted. I also feel a slight pain in my left knee.

Following his videos, I did manage to use my left shoulder again.
Hopefully following this one, I will manage to restore my right ankle as well.
