Thank you so much for posting this! I'm very active too and now that I'm one week post double mastectomy, I was really having trouble finding anything online to guide my gradual return back to vigorous exercise. Keep up the great work. :)
Thank you so much!! I have been going crazy trying to figure out how much is too much, I am 10 days post double mastectomy with expanders and you just made my day!
@@breast-cancer-rehab Exactly!! Again, thank you, I have been in such a funk and am generally a super positive person, you've motivated me to tuck my drains in and go back to the gym this morning even if it's just to sit on the bike and do some shoulder rolls! I love knowing you are a chiro as well! Thanks again for all the great info!
I was given ZERO guidelines, I was not even told what they did. Despite me asking they patted my head as if i was a puppy (I'm 50) and was told to go to the restaurant and enjoy life...
Wow! Very impressive! I'm 13 days out dmx. My node arm has shooting pain to my wrist. Im trying to exercise it, but my surgeon didnt give me any exercises!
Search for the video rehab exercises 0-3 weeks after surgery and start there. There’s 2 more videos after that. If you have the resources getting some hands-on treatment will help too. All the best with your recovery!
Thanks for these videos. I'm starting week 3 post surgery but i still have a lymphocele so not allow to move my Right arm. I will start strength with left biceps /triceps
I do Muay Thai before my breast cancer diagnosis. I wonder if I will ever go back to it ever again. Right now I’m 3 week post bilateral mastectomy with breast expanders. I miss my boxing gloves and my core exercises. What do you suggest? Thank you. ❤
I hear you with missing exercise! If your expanders are under the muscle it may take longer to get back and you may need to modify more. I did some videos on core exercises after surgery in this playlist - ruclips.net/p/PLALVgJH_QhhiYtTZvPrbZK_k-PMyCoL8Y
Hi Erica. Thanks for the video. Just wanted to know about the amount of lymph nodes that you got removed? I basically had all the lymph nodes removed, I exercise but still very concerned about lymphedema
I had 3 lymph nodes removed. I had lymphedema start 3 months after I was done radiation. I’m going to do a bunch of videos coming up on lymphedema as it’s so common. I think exercise was one of the things that helped me the most to address it. Advice in the past used to be avoid exercise but now it’s recommended. Check with your surgeon for specific advice for your case.
I took a lot of the exercise videos after the fact so that's why you don't see my drains. I never planned on making a RUclips channel to share all of this information. My drains were in for 6 days. The exercises were definitely more uncomfortable that first week because of the drains, but not enough to prevent me from doing them!
Start with the rehab exercises 0-3 weeks and progress from there (0-6 weeks, 6+ weeks). Check with your medical team for any specific recommendations in your case.

The lack of guidance can be so frustrating! This resonates. Wishing you the best with your recovery.

I’m not seeing any drain tubes so I’m not sure how u can go through any of these exercises.
