I should definitely try this. I love walking and hiking, and this seems like a great way to increase the usefulness of the type of exercise I already like best. Thank you!
This is a great idea. I’m going to give it a try. I’m in Northern Canada, so I’ll have to get my sunshine from the window while I’m walking on the treadmill. I really enjoy your videos.
I sm glad that I just had a boan densities test just a few weeks ago. It's about the same as it was last year and the year before. Than I will check to see if I will need one after my surgery maybe months after surgery. I am curious on the changes.
You have very good ideas when there is no other choices. I will be getting a mestectomy in a few weeks. I go to a chiropractor for over a year now. My question to you is. When should I go back to see my chiropractor after my mestectomy. He does do my upper back and neck, and I don't want something messed up if I go back too early. He knows what is happening when it comes to my cancer situation, and he wants to make sure that I will be fine to come back. So when will be the safe time to go back.
Good question. I had my first treatment a week after my double mastectomy. The focus at this stage was on the soft tissues (neck, shoulder, midback, etc) because I was SO tight/stiff post-surgery. The positions that I was in were lying on my back and sitting only. I had neck adjustments soon after but waited until ~7 weeks to get my midback adjusted where I was lying on my stomach. This provided such relief in midback tension. In terms of positions to avoid I would ask your surgeon how long you should avoid sleeping on your stomach. Then you'll have a better idea of how long to wait to get treatment when you're lying on your stomach. Another limitation is any movements that would stretch or put tension on your incisions. A good practitioner is adaptable so they can work around any limitations. I typically see patients starting at ~3 weeks post-surgery but modify the treatment as needed. Hope that helps!
@breast-cancer-rehab my surgery is a 2 parter. The first they will take out all the tissue and give me an extender. The second they will take out the extender and put in something permanent. He wants to use my side as the permanent replacement. But I would rather he uses my belly, it's not like I don't have enough to spare for both. But only need enough for 1. Is there a reason why a Dr would either the belly or the side by the armpit against the breast. Or can I get my options.
I had a 2-part surgery as well - tissue expanders placed at the time of my double mastectomy and then an exchange surgery where they were swapped out for implants. I don’t know enough about each of the surgeries to determine which option would suit you best. Your plastic surgeon would be the best person to ask more questions…. and also ask about what other options are available to you. Best of luck with your decision!
Share your experience if you give rucking a try!
This is super helpful. I didn’t even think of this one.
Great, definitely give it a try. Thanks for watching!

Exactly! If you’re already waking/hiking it’s an easy add-on to do it with weight.

A fellow Canadian 🇨🇦! I’m glad the videos have been helpful for you.
Very good advice. Definitely will make time spent walking more productive / efficient, physically, assuming you need the added challenge.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks 🙏

That’s great that you haven’t seen any reductions in your bone density so far.
I’m trying this twice a week; if the 8lb weight is getting heavy I carry the load in front then switch back. Using a treadmill on incline 3.5 speed
Love this…keep it up!
