- SUBSCRIBE 🔥 How to move your Native Instruments libraries to another hard drive and relink them.
If you move your Native Instruments sample libraries from the location they were installed to, you will need to relink those libraries. This applies to Kontakt, Reaktor, Komplete, and all NI libraries.
If you get a new hard drive or ssd and wish to move your libraries, all you need to do is grab all the library files and drop them in the new drive. You can delete the original files after moving.
Then you can relink the file location in the app, such as Kontakt, but preferably you should use Native Access.
After you change the location of your libraries, be sure to change the download location in Preferences.

A quick tip instead of drag and drop Press ctrl X on the page where you get it from and ctrl V on the place where you want it to go this basically makes sure you take all of the files out so you dont have to delete them afterwards

I already have kontakt ultimate 11 but I am still missing some orchestra libraries content....
I have gone through all the major Libraries and the best suited library that I found was ORCHESTRA by SONUSCORE.... I say so for two most important reasons one its engine and it's simplicity of usage and all the COMBI that you can do in that I mean the MULTI LAYERING & second it is very nicely price and PACKAGED..... I CAN AFFORD THAT...

Hi there. Just want to be clear, after you moved locations you can open your DAW (Pro Tools) and use the VST's like previous? At this point, are you able to unplug your hard drive, or must it stay plugged in for your Native Instruments to work in your DAW. Sorry to bug, new to this.. much appreciated!
Thanks - don’t you think it’s annoying that you can’t relocate unless the library needs to be Repaired. It’s like you have to move then delete the library before it can be relocated - what if you want to check that it’s successfully relocated before deleting from previous location? They just need to add a relocate button to all libraries in Native Access

This is great, but on a PC, do you have one for a Mac OSX? It's probably very much the same just being perhaps over cautious. Files are more spread and drives don't have file letters etc. Any info would be useful
thank you for the vid i have a promblem so i scaned my library for with maschine it shows it being scaned but wheni try to use my vsts or my native instuments kontact or battery etc thay dont show i have chosen the path but it keeps telling me parh already exsists i cant load any vsts or any native instruments if you can hekp thanks

That's great. Now how do I relink libraries, that are official 3rd party, but doen't have a serial number, so I can only open it in the "Files" menu of the NI Kontakt. How can I relink files in those cases, where you cannot use "Native Access" app? Thanks.
I'm quite gobsmacked at the fact that NI still haven't put a feature on Kontakt for this purpose.

Thanks bro! Oonce all is installed from NI K Hard drive can you unplug it and still be able to work with NI stuff? I wanted to remove it and store it back in the box just in case. Since I dont want it to break or God knows what. Stuff ain't cheap
Thanks so much. This was SO very helpful. I notice in Preferences you had the DOWNLOAD location different than the CONTENT location. This is confusing to me. Should they not be the same? Download is where Native Access downloads the content to. It then has to unzip and install the samples, that would be the CONTENT location. You could have them as the same drive/folder. But sometimes you don't have enough space to download, unzip, and install the content, especially when you are downloading lots of libraries as once. Or you may have a dedicated drive for samples and don't want it cluttered or messed up with downloaded files that need to be deleted later on.

Are you using a PC or Mac? If you are using a pc, How did you get Native Instruments and Logic Pro X? Cuz I want to do the same thing
So after you copy all the libraries from your users file to your external drive, do you delete everything from the Users Drive connected with kontakt?
So after I copy everything over into my Hard Drive i can delete all of Native Instruments off my C Drive for more space correct?

Good day. I'm not able to see my Komplete 13 library in my Maschine plus DAW. The plug-ins work fine. Everything in Native access is working or saying full version. I also have Komplete Kontrol and the library is full of sounds. How can I get my Maschine to show a full of sounds?
I have an external hard drive full of Kontakt libraries linked to Native access, but I also have 2 other drives with libraries. I can only link 1 to Native Access, is that a problem? They all load up in Kontakt, but should I get a bigger hard drive so I can put all the libraries on it?
not working for me. I moved the libraries, updated via native access, but, kontact 5 and 6 still try to use the old locations and there is no way to set the new location. Neither are reading the native access locations. (win 10) I started this process because, initially, komplete kontrol (vst) would give me the plug in not found error, even though I had used the default install locations. The defaults actually use mapping, which I thought was the problem. I am thinking there is files that need to be deleted and I can't find anything about this, yet.
I tried this but when i open maschine studio software and hit the browse button there are no plug ins, no sound kits...nothing.I tried to rescan and it doesnt add the libraries back. Any ideas?

You could. Just make sure the drive gets the same drive letter each time you plug it in, otherwise you'll have to adjust the path.

Hello, what if we have 1 TB of content libraries (as in the case of komplete ultimate bundle) and we have only 1 500 GB external drive and a 500 GB internal drive ? Half of my contents are downloaded in internal drive and half in external drive. The problem i am facing is that i am unable to use all the libraries at the same time. I have to change the content location in the native access each time i want to use the library from the external drive. Is there a way to assign multiple content location in the Native access ?
Help! I have my libraries copied over to the external drive, original folders deleted, refreshed in Native Access to new paths.
In maschine 2, it says a duplicate folder exists and won’t connect. There are no duplicates and I can’t get it repaired from within maschine 2, no sound for anything.
Do you move your Documents folder in C drive to new drive as well?
can you use multiple locations? i have a 256gb SSD and want to half and half my Ultimate collection with what i use on whatever basis. will that confuse the system?

You can only set one location for the sample content in Native Access. The apps will install to C by default.

Doesn't work for me. Native access don't communicate with Kontakt as all my libraries are now unavailable but in native access everything looks normal.
So here is my situation: I have old projects that I want to work on. I switched computer and hard drive. Whenever I open kontakt within the old project, the Kontakt Player assumes the libraries are in its old directory. How do I redirect this without screwing up the settings within the library?
Solved 1 minute after commenting.
Kontakt warned about missing content when I opened the project, where I could select the correct folder. Hopefully this can help someone else out there that had the same issue.
I have my komplete 11 on my Mac's HD... I have just purchased Komplete 12 Collectors edition. I have to install it to an external HD due to lack of space on my Macs HD. Will I need to relocate the already installed products I have from my Mac's HD to my external HD for them to work or is it ok to have stuff on 2 separate HD's? Thanks.
Everything included in 11 is also included in 12. If you install 12 to a different hard drive, you will have duplicate sample content. I would, either, move the content that is already installed to the new hard driver OR, simply uninstall everything and install from the K12UCE disk.
@@BenoniStudio Thanks for your speedy reply,(I download all my content from Native Access not the drives or discs) Native access picks up what I have already so it only gives me the option to download the content and updates I don't already have. I just changed the DL and Content path in Native access to a new folders on my external HD, My question is now I have two locations (2 separate HD's) with NI content will Native access automatically know which HD to find content that has updates etc...? Hope i'm making sense :)
What will probably happen is Native Access will try to download the content that is on the other drive since you can currently only set one location for the Sample Library content.

Open Native Access and re-download them if you cant find the hard drive.
what if reinstall doesnt work ? i copy and paste it to a other location and deleted everything from the old location but now everything is gone i cant reinstall either native acces tells me i dont have the instalation information ?? plzzz help me
Why would everything be gone if you moved the content to another drive? Did you delete both locations?

This LOCATE function is not showing in KONTAKT 7 neither the RELOCATE function is there in the Native access 2. Now you will have to download and install the Library again. Don't understand why Native Instrument has removed such an useful feature from their latest version of KONTAKT and NATIVE ACCESS !!
What about the many of us who can't do this because we can't use Native Access because we can't update our computers past OS xX 10.9 we're being left behind!
Relacate does not work. I had installed some in E drive. For example Reaktor 6 Player. Now I have removed E drive. There is no E drive anymore. So I had copied all files to C drive before removing the E drive. Native Access says Repair. OK. I tried to relacate. It finds the files in C:/Program Files/Native Instrumets/bla bla.. but relacate button is inactive. Well then I have changed to C drive all in the up right corner under my account icon, the preferences. Still relocate button is inactive for Reaktor 6 Player. This is only one. All this process is waste of time.

I got a slightly different situation and i cant seem to figure it out.
I have my libraries on an external already and the apps on my internal SSD. I upgraded to a new m.2 SSD as a boot drive and cant get it to recognize where everything is at still. There is no repair or locate option. any pointers?
Did you re-install the apps on the new OS drive? If not, you're gonna have to. Otherwise Native Access has no idea you have the apps installed because the registry files don't exist on the current OS.
