You both remain so calm with having zero plan and not being able to find what you are looking for. Really an inspiration :) Thank you for making these videos! So much fun to watch :)
You two are just too adorable. I always have this big stupid smile plastered across my face for the entirety of your videos. Keep being awesome and thank you for continuing to share your adventures with us.
You need to make a series of videos where Kyde just explains historical moments in the way she did in this video. "Shit happened. Japan used to be all up in this shit." Hahahahaha.
Love your adventures searching for a bike and getting kick out of motels and stuff... I wish i explore more in detail like you guys when i was living there... So much fun!
cute video, lived in Taipei 90-93 and took the family over about 4 years ago for a 17 day vacation- it's amazing how many things you can do when not tied up with daily work! we are planning another trip back soon. I'm glad you had fun, by the way the pig smell part of the food court was CHO TOFU the fried kind, haven't watched the rest of your posts to see if you ended up trying it (take some bravery)
Hi Eric and Kyde, Your videos are amazing, and it makes me feel like i'm on a world trip just sitting in my humble home! The dynamics between you guys are also great to watch, and I really appreciate Eric's sense of humour and willingness to try everything, and Kyde's fun and animal-loving self! Your videos have really helped me through some tough times at work, coming home and switching on your videos just make my day so much better! Thanks for sharing! Always a fan, BT
I appreciate yours courage so much! for foreigners never came to Taiwan before and just landed on this country 4 days..you 2 have done so many things omg...I can't imagined going to east side of Taiwan just by riding motorcycle! I enjoy your videos pretty much and hope you like Taiwan and will visit here someday in the future. keep it up for your adventure!
I am a Taiwanese and it's really an interesting video for me. I just keep watching it and I don't know why! The type of motorbike that you rent was pretty good!! And you guys are really crazy and brave to travel from Taipei to Taroko by choosing a motorbike. Try it next time in southern Taiwan!
greets from holand no idea how i found you 2 on youtube but im watching al your videos sins monday im loving them this is indeed btr than any traveling program s i wish i could travel the world like this lol it so awsome
hello! ok around 9:30, the jelly things inside the grape drink that erin has is aloe vera chucks and also just for your information, it reads: "no preservatives added" in the red circle.. : )
You guys really make me want to travel the world :D such entertaining video's of just the little things is somehow super interesting keep it up can't wait for part 3 :)
hey you guys, these videos are awesome! I'm going to Taiwan this fall for 3 weeks, and all I booked was my flights in and out, and really have no idea about anything else, but I just want to go with the flow and not over plan. You guys proved it's very doable. Im totally going to rent a bike and randomly explore.
Great videos! Just for future reference, international driver's license is not actually a license, it's a piece of paper translating your license to the language of whichever country you will be traveling to. You only need your U.S. driver's license to drive in Taiwan and, any other countries with reciprocal agreements with the U.S.
Yea, we're aware of what it is, but a lot of countries require you to have one in the chance that you are pulled over and the officer can't read English. Japan requires one, for instance. I was under the impression Taiwan required it as well, but the dude we rented the bike from didn't care at all. -Eric
We didn't speak any Mandarin. We usually like to find out a little bit about the language before going to places, but this was so sudden that we didn't have time! Do you like Eric or Kyde's voice overs?
While we are by no means expert we did briefly read up on it and understood the basic story, they way Kyde explained it in the video was somewhat for humor value, but as you should be able to tell we had the rough outline understood. -Eric
At 27:00 the 'Investigation Alert' blue light when on means someone calls for assistance, handicap, or as panic button calls for staffs to investigate or alert authorities. FYI.
Perhaps, but remember we were two people and on a bus we would have to pay two fares. Plus a motorbike is extraordinarily more fun and allows us to stop and explore whatever we want.
You guys have been all around Asia have you guys ever thought about traveling to north korea I have seen your videos to south korea or do you guys think it would be to scary to go there
The card name is 悠遊卡 (sounds like Yo-Yo Card) (means like leisure travel Card) English name is EasyCard like Suica card in Japan. You can buy it in 7-11 & MRT station.
Hey Eric did they ask to see your license when u rented the bike? I lost my British one kinda hoping to get a bike without having my license, any chance of that happening? Also what was the final price on the bike? Thanks for the info.
jtpf87 Ohhhh...man, I don't remember if they asked for my licence. I *think* they did, but I'm not 100% certain. It seems like you might be able to find someone who doesn't care, but Taiwan isn't quite as loose with the rules as places like Thailand. You might end up in trouble if you get pulled over without a licence, but no idea for sure. I also don't recall the price for the rental, sorry...it was a few years ago! Have fun in Taiwan, it's incredible! -Eric
We don't like to talk about things that we don't understand completely, especially when it regards the history of an entire country. Hopefully our comical review of the history will inspire people to google it on their own! -Eric
I don't know what I love more Kyde, the sweet tan lines or the sad face at the end of this video. Do the both of you plan to ever move back to the states or are you looking at long term living in Japan?
It so easy to make too. Ignore the over complicated recipe's on the net. All you need is Curry Powder, Lemon Grass, Coconut Milk in a can, Soy Bean Pockets, Bean sprouts, Shrimp and Spaghetti noodles. Blend a little Curry Powder and Lemon Grass, boil it in the coconut milk for about 15 minutes, add Pockets , Shrimp and Bean Sprouts for another 5 minutes. Boil noodles separately. Voila.
You are the font of adventures I would learn the words for 'not spicy' in any language of a place I want to visit. I like my tongue right where it is. Love the bargain hunting.
omg still exist the 7 eleven?! waw i'm so exited watching you guys, i never have been abroad and i'm feeling like i'm with you or something like that. You are nice!
It's not called Yo-yo card but "Easy card". Before using the public bikes the users have to register first by ID number. And I have to say, riding motorcycle is the better way than bus to deeply travel Taiwan. You two did a nice job!!
About the Color of Taipei 101. They use the Rainbow colors for everyday. So you can figure out what date is it by the color. For example, It was Monday when you went to the 101, cause the color was red. I like this idea. Pretty cool!!!
That is a really cool idea. Thailand does the same thing with days and giving them colors. In Bangkok, you can see a lot of people wearing the same color to represent what day of the week it is!
This is awesome, I'm going to leave some questions after I'm finished with Part 5 because I want to go to Kaohsiung some point in 2014. Hope you can help if you can. Awesome videos, really helpful.
25:00 Kyde, just to clarify, Singapore laksa really is different from curry and is regionally regarded as such as the ingredients used are different which results in a distinct taste that's quite different from curry. What you had is definitely curry noodles, not laksa. Next time you have the opportunity to try Sg laksa again, take note of the taste difference.
I didn't get to see your lunch, one breakfast, and I'm dying to know if you split that pepsi (splurge & get TWO pepsi!). I'm a foodie, i really like seeing/knowing about new food.
1. Yes, we paid a deposit, a weird one. The guy asked for $50 USD, but he doesn't give it back for 2 months. He told us that he might get a traffic fine in the mail, so he keeps the money for that. He actually seemed very legit, so don't worry! 2. Yes, the black stuff was from exhaust from other cars!
Really like your Asian 'adventure' guys, awesome interpretation of the local food, point of interests and their culture btw. Thanks for sharing the videos and appreciate your candid point of view. It'll be a good reference for me when I travel to Taiwan in the near future. PS: Eric is cute ;-) and Kyde is a smart cookie :-)
haha - 'love' hotel. What a cheap sleep! Your travel vids are so fun to watch! All that lovely yummy food makes me feel hungry - always knowing how to sniff out a good meal for few bucks! And very brave of you to hire a scooter. I love Asia but I doubt if I'll ever have an opportunity to visit Taiwan so it's great to watch from the armchair. Looking forward to part 3. Ta!
jez buttons Thanks! Taiwan is a pretty amazing place, unfortunate you don't think you'd be able to visit. Hope the videos continue to entertain you! -Eric

Just told my husband, "I'm going to Taiwan with Kyde and Eric, see you in 5 hours." Thanks for a great Saturday you two.
+Goldbar stacker Haha, don't make your husband upset! But enjoy! -E
You need to make a series of videos where Kyde just explains historical moments in the way she did in this video. "Shit happened. Japan used to be all up in this shit." Hahahahaha.
You guys have recently become my favorite RUclips channel.
I spaz out in my head a little bit, but we have been in so many situations when "things just work out" and we say that phrase a lot!!! -Kyde
Hope you do someday! Thanks for watching and enjoying!
Awesome video as usual, we're really happy to see new videos of you guys, especially in Taiwan.

There is a very beautiful seaside cliff at north coast and east-north coast in Taiwan.
You can go to there next time.
I appreciate yours courage so much! for foreigners never came to Taiwan before and just landed on this country 4 days..you 2 have done so many things omg...I can't imagined going to east side of Taiwan just by riding motorcycle! Thanks, we loved Taiwan! We want to come back and go around the entire island on a motorbike! Just a couple more days and we could have. -Eric
We loved it! Miss you, Juice Box!

***** Fantastic! It's a perfect country to just randomly explore in, I'm sure it'll be great! -Eric
The average price for motorbike rental is about 350 to 400 NT per day in southern taiwan , which is about half the price in your previous video.
...whaaa...what? Did you post this on the wrong video?
Where's it at?
I absolutely love these videos :D Thanks for uploading!!

Thanks for the vid. Looking forward to the next part.
Yea, we are missing a few places from our east asia checklist....Vietnam, The Philippines, Myanmar, Brunei. We are working on it!
FYI.
Thanks for the video.
How did you navigate while you guys are riding around? Do you use a map or did you have GPS?
Thanks
Don't worry, it's just another part of Taiwan that was amazing for us! We loved it there! -Eric
My new nickname for Eric is "Chunkybits." LOL!

This is great info if we return! Thanks!
ERIC!!! What song is used at the end, it's awesome.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Awesome, thank you! -Eric
Wow, that is a damn shame that we couldn't find prices like that in Taipei. The lowest we could even hear about was 500. -Kyde
It's normal, downtown Taipei (especially nearby Taipei main station) is more expensive than other places in Taiwan.
Haha I was thinking Kyde's, but Eric, yours is nice too :D LOL
It just sound so nice and clear when it's voiced-over. : )
Much love from Chicago !!
It's not called Yo-yo card but "Easy card". Before using the public bikes the users have to register first by ID number. And I have to say, riding motorcycle is the better way than bus to deeply travel Taiwan. You two did a nice job!!

Eric saying “how’s my hair” back in the day, but so much the opposite nowadays with rockin’ the thick beard and bald style. I’m with ya on that brother. People ask me why I decided to go full bald and give up on finding a “good” “hair style”, and my response (at least in my head) is “meh, hair, who needs it anyway”
Also, great motorbike rental adventure btw, I would copy this adventure myself haha, hopefully someday
Hah, I was joking back in the day asking that, I knew it looked like trash no matter what hahahahahah
@@kydeanderic trash is a strong word :), but we’re better off nowadays, less trouble 👍🏼
Did you not see my recap of Taiwanese history? It was pretty good! -Kyde
