Used this video yesterday and today with the parts linked to complete on my 2016 F80 under jack stands. I appreciate everyone at FCP Euro. Good looking out for the BMW community.
Please if someone knows where the coolant is leaking… It’s a 2017 BMW 330i X drive. It’s basically just pouring out as it is poured in towards the back of the engine area under the car. It won’t allow me to post a video to show you but, I need some help.
I did it on jack stands in and out 6 hours. Now to preface I am a dealer tech. But this is probably one of the easiest bmw pans to do if you have the right tools.
@@fcpeuro I was scared of some crazy maintenance bill. My 335 was already getting money dumped into it. Sold that project. Picked up a super clean 16 M4. Bone stick. 😎
While you have access to the coolers. Why not clean off the surface? And that bent oil cooler. A little voice in my head keeps saying, "change it!!!!!".
Why is this procedure different than oil pan gasket jobs on other BMWs where you can just let the subframe hang on the suspension and slide the oil pan out?
Hehehehe. ok riddle me this what about using grey or a different type of flexible gasket maker like reisnol or the other one that stays tacky and not use the oil pan gasket at all. Just the squeezy cheese stuff? Or the grey stuff they use on sealing lets say a transmission case together.

What are those pliers you used to release the power steering harness hold down clips at 12:47? Does FCP sell them?

Dang… not that I have an M3, but this job straight up requires a lift.
I could not imagine doing this on roll-ups or jack stands.

Always good to see your videos

We did! DIY coming soon.
Great video. Will use! Do not hold the head of the torque wrench. It will throw the value off.
no need re-alignment?

Good video...bmws suck.
How many miles on it
This M3 was nearing the 100k mark!
Ridiculous how complicated BMW has made what used to be a simple task.
Definition of OVER ENGINEERED
