      I love the WW1 and WW2 mash up that you have with these tanks and that it looks like you can have them closer to WW2 style by simply leaving the sponsons off. I have a museum where I live that has a collection of Shermans and Stewart tanks and it's cool how close you are to them.

That's a great step for the company. However, as a member of the 3D printers go brrrrrr crowd as well I really hope that this transition doesn't mean that they will be stepping away from the 3D model side of the house because having just found them I'm in love with their concept and would hate to see the 3D aspect completely go away.

    I will say, the aesthetic of Dieselpunk is great in general and really well-translated into this model range. It's clear where there's some design choices made to make things fit as 40k Proxies which, let's be real, is a sensible decision to make because of how much of a juggernaut 40k is in the tabletop gaming sphere, and honestly I quite like that stuff in its own right.

    I think you hit the nail on the head Dave. 3d printers are great, 3d models are really great, but sometimes you just want physical minis you can buy. Also plastic and regular resin is 100x more easy to kitbash into something unrecognisable.
    I do not have a printer, but do use printing services. I found a 3d model kit which I really want for my guard. It became aparent that no-one was selling it online or shipping to Australia. I spent several hours last night downloading redownloading, extracting, and reuploading models and otherwise mucking around to get it printed.
    And well I won't know how well that went till it arrives in a few weeks!

    That Sturmzeppelin has a nice nose, perfect for some sort of submarine or so.
    Heck that Graf Class Panzerzeppelin has quite the submarine feel to it, can they be combined?
    I think they should have looked a bit more at the Lipstick rocket & the first (British) spacesuit, then at the T-class of submarines.
    A Prehistoric feeling rocketship with knightly astronauts.....
    Now that might have worked quite well, I think.
    Even the Princess class of waterplane, it's planned bigger brother, could have helped, there.

    • @zoro115-s6b
      @zoro115-s6b Месяц назад +1

      It's not a matter of there being a seat or not, its that any kind of seat there, along with the commander's legs, are in a space that would be taken up by the gun breech. The turret is hardly any larger than the notoriously cramped T-34-76 turret, and that only needed to house two crewmen and a 76mm cannon. The Leman Russ is somehow fitting three crew and a 120mm gun in that same space.

    • @daefaron
      @daefaron Месяц назад +1

      @@zoro115-s6b yeah but the leman russ model on tabletop isn't a 120mm barrel, it's exaggerated bigger iirc.

    • @zoro115-s6b
      @zoro115-s6b Месяц назад +1

      @@daefaron I'm not scaling the turret by the barrel, which is indeed insanely massive. I'm using the models where the commander is sticking out of the hatch. While the tank overall is large, the turret is incredibly cramped.
      Even if we ignore anything that can be used for scale and just assume that the turret is however big it needs to be to hold three crew members and a 120mm cannon, scaling that to the rest of the tank's body would just make the tank absolutely enormous due to how small the turret is relative to the hull. And as dumb as 40K can be, I don't think it was their intention to make the Imperium's standard tank bigger than the maus.

I mean the fact you (correctly) called warhammer 'not that well made of a game' serves only to highlight that there _are_ better alternatives out there IF people were aware of them
      Videos like this are more likely to find their way towards people trying to find ANYthing to replace GW by titling it as such

      Warhammer is the darksouls of board games

      @@reaps912 I’m more just venting about how I hate the fact that since Warhammer is the biggest miniature game, a lot of people think “the hobby” starts and ends at Warhammer so we have people ignorantly ignoring much better and more interesting games just cause Warhammer kinda brainwashes you into thinking that way. So we end up with every gosh darn game being compared to Warhammer even when it has nothing similar to it. Though, in the case of this Video, looking at the miniature sculpts on my mini factory these really are made as Warhammer proxies first and the game second. Which is fine and understandable but it just kills it for me to see very obvious las cannons and random sponsons in a “diesel punk” setting.

      The problem with the other games is them getting abandoned or going out of business. Warhammer has been around for long enough that it’s probably not going anywhere. But other wargames come and go. That’s why I don’t get into new ones that often. I don’t want to buy stuff that won’t last.

    The Sherman tank hull is from a Leman Russ with a .30 cal added, it even has the side bolters 😂

    Yeah they are like Warhammer all right, cause I can see 44 United States stl files (Ultramarines) while all the other factions all have less.
    The models are pretty cool though. Im coming back when the other factions have more things to look at.

    This looks fucking sick. My entire reason for going to college was to study and major in history and specifically war studies. Naturally as a Warhammer fan, my first army was the Imperial Guard and this just looks too cool. I love the steam/diesel punk WWII vibes and it reminds me of a game called Iron Harvest that is a diesel punk WWI game, which is also a super fun and awesome game. This is for sure gonna be another table top game I will be investing in once I finish my Imperial guard and salamander army.
    I love the Sherman you guys did as well, the "War Hag" and even drawing a tiny witch, that is so cute. :p

    The minis are cool, but feel like a huge part of getting people interested would be the game system. Especially if you want them to back the product. No one wants to get another army for a system that has a limited player base. Maybe thats just me but I have enough plastic to bury myself, a game needs to have more draw cards than just "ooo cool miniature"

      It's also important to encourage them to flourish, there's commitment here; one of the stretch goals is a story, there's pages of lore available, it's got all the foundations to grow!

    Yo dude, you should definitely be wearing gloves handling uncured resin even if it’s been washed. I believe the same stands for using plant-based “safer” resins
