I found out about Quar last year or so, and instantly became enamored with the whole vibe. So I was really glad to see Wargames Atlantic, one of my favorite third party manufacturers, work together with Zombiesmith to bring these Little Guys to hard plastic. If I didn't already support WA's "The Damned" campaign, and thus have one already, I'd be tempted to turn Quar minis into a Guard army. I might still grab a box and kitbash a Kill Team out of it, though, somewhere down the line. They're just awesome sculpts and work really well as Abhumans.
Quar very much have this sorta vibe that reminds me of Ralph Bakshi films and old Opus comics, and a small splash of the water-color charm of the 1995 movie adaptation of The Wind in the Willows. You know, the sorta vibe that old European comics and newspaper strips used to have, if that all makes sense.
To those of you suggsesting that Quar could take place in Smiling Friends lore, you need to understand that Smiling Friends world building is branched from our own existing world. Like how Richard Nixon avoided being caught in the Watergate Scandal, managed to win the Vietnam war, and stayed in office for long enough to be re-elected for a second term.

They remind me of Fraggles or some other Jim Henson creature, or maybe something from the 1977 movie Wizards by Ralph Bakshi
A rather peculiar xenos species. Given their state of constant war, Exterminatus would be considered a mercy.
The might of a single quar is equal to that of the shriveled corpse in the fancy gamer chair.
First video of yours I’ve ever seen and I have to say (1) Excellent video; it was clear, concise, and fun; and (2) your OC is adorable!!
a war game full of little creatures that psycicpebbles loves so much
This is a gorgeous video. I love it. I'm always looking for good cool off the path games like this.
The quarreling quorum of the Quor war.
I getting either really heavy 1960s Mad magazine ‘Spy vs Spy’ Deja vu, or flashing on Vaughn Bode’s lizard soldiers.
2:35 lmao the TF2 music
Crazy thing is I first saw Quar over at EoB. Jay put little mushrooms on his..lol Great content here, thanks for sharing!
IT'S YOU JELQUIUS! YOU'RE THE QUAR!
First time hearing of this franchise at all....and I'm really lovin these cute lil guys and their WW1-esk conflict. :D
Well, this video certainly put a new game on my radar. I will definitely be keeping it in mind for the future!
Man, I remember seeing this when I first started getting into tabletop, 15 years ago. It was called This Qwar’s War back then haven’t played any war games, but I might try this one.
When I first started, they still made the mini's out of lead lol.
Think I still have a few of them, I know I sold A lot of old OOP stuff about 9 years ago. Even put in the auction a warning about them being lead minis.
The lore and game changed over my time with it, multiple times. I walked into a GW store that opened here a few years back, talk about sticker shock. Honestly who the frack can afford GW prices now days. I remember when kids struggled to get into the hobby even during my time.
They were never lead :)
@@grimsicalgames8583 Quick Google search will tell you otherwise, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days. You can even find a screen shot of the White Dwarf article telling readers that they moved away from lead alloy mini's, it was WD 207 from 1997.
@@grimsicalgames8583 White Dwarf 207, March 1997 has an editorial saying they're moving away from lead alloy. You can even find a screen grab of the article online.

Quar, Quar never changes.
I knew Quar from the PS game, but never played it cause it required PS and VR. Didn't know they also had a tabletop game.
this fucking rules I love these little guys now wtf!!!
"glorry tü ffe immordle Quemperah! ffe won en trü mezturrh ov oll Quahrr!"
They remind me of the four armed things from dark crystal
