I like little details in that show like American side used in episodes on the roof of Radio Building AH64 Apache and uh60 Blackhawk, when Okarin solve problem with them, Russian side arrives with their Mi-24, like their Spetznaz used very specific Ots 14 Groza to destroy Kurisu's laptop in the alley, when DURPA caught our group. Also soldiers in 2036 used FN2000 like kind of futuristic weapon. Its cool :D
One small touch I absolutely love is that the world line he ends up in due to deleting Amadeus reads on the divergence meter as 1.123581 and I'm willing to bet if the meter had one more digit then that final digit would be a 3. 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 is the fibbonaci sequence, also known as the golden ratio. And that world line is the single, golden thread that leads us out of the minotaur's labyrinth and opens the Steins;gate
It's been too long since I've dived back into Steins;Gate... Honestly I can't remember that scenario being presented to me or myself even thinking about the golden ratio. It makes sense if that were the case as "Steins:Gate" is the optimal timeline where everything works out.
6:40 The song playing here is Skyclad Observer by Itou Kanako. It is one of the OPs for the original Steins;Gate visual novel. The lyrics don't reference 0 at all but can be related to the original story (and maybe C;H, but that might be a reach lol). Good song👍
It took me a while to find the specific version of it, as it looks like there are a few variations (unless I just saw fan made ones). Nonetheless, it's a very good song!
Steins Gate is a prime example of a "Otaku Hero's Journey", the kind of anime about a young otaku struggling against the world with his comrades. This kind of show is very "Japanese" in the sense that some references and jokes will only be understood by people familiar with Japan or anime. That doesnt mean westerners cant enjoy it, however. Funnily enough, everyone in Steins Gate can be considered an otaku. Mayuri is a cosplay nerd. Daru is a stereotypical anime nerd. Okabe is a chuuni nerd. Kurisu is an online nerd. Etc. Steins Gate, Mushoku Tensei and Re Zero (go watch that if you havent yet) are great shows about an otaku hero.
It’s great how every character can be considered an Otaku yet they are the ones who saved the world from despair by preventing WW3 (by reaching Steins; Gate). Even when Okarin tries acting "normal" by going to college, attending mixers and no longer "pretending" to fight against the organization, he resorted back to who he was. Also Re Zero, another anime I heard to be a top isekai. Don't know when, but I have a feeling I'll make my way to it eventually.
The D-RINE they use is using the RINE app that Daru developed. It’s the messaging app they’ve been using with each other which is why they’ve all got emojis of each other. It isn’t explained in the anime but they talk about it a bit in the visual novel.
So in the anime they've already shown references to the D-RINE, such as the emoji's, but never explained it. Thanks for providing some context with this. I was wondering why I never heard of it until mentioned, but at least the creator provided some context to it, in the visual novel.
Thank you for posting the video. You've finally arrived at this divine time. It was a very wonderful reaction. This is the true value of Steins Gate!! I'm looking forward to the next one.
I think we can all agree Okabe’s VA absolutely nailed that scene!
He did indeed, Mamoru Miyano is a great voice actor.
