It's not popular, because it's: 1) Mecha. Most people just aren't into mecha. 2) Not extreme flashy, like AOT, DBz...etc. 3) It's a dark/depressive anime/story. A lot of people watch anime to escape to the opposite rather to be comforted by familiarity. They are less inclined to watch something that reflective of their real world and instead seek the opposite to indulge in the dream the wanted. Nevertheless people appreciate this, appreciate it a lot.
This wont be the last time shin and lena flert were recorded and listened by a lot of people. Seems like they keep forgetting that reginleif had log of everything all the time.
