    In my opinion, this episode is the single best episode in all of Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0. I'll never understand why people like the original series but not 0, I think they are both fantastic. And this scene in particular is the peak of 0. It is the first and ONLY time you get to see the absolutely relentless mad man Okabe had to be in order to reach Steins;Gate at all. The instant I heard the return of that iconic laugh it was quite literally more hype than when Goku went Super Saiyan for the first time in DragonBallZ when I was a kid. So good.

      This is also my favorite steins;gate overall episode, tho I do think 0 as a whole is a bit underwhelming compared to the first season. The reason for that is mostly because of the source material really, while Steins;gate is fairly linear and closed in its story with basically 2 main timelines, S;G 0 VN is much harder to adapt having A LOT of moving wheels and different timelines, plus I think the new characters in 0 aren't developed quite enough, mostly Kagari, who has a pivotal role but isn't explored fully in the anime. So for me, while S;G is a 10, 0 was a 9

      0 was a bit underwhelming. let me explain. steins gate was thrilling and confused our minds in a whole different level. but then, steins gate 0 delves into rintarou's mind after the events of episode 23b. it shows why he was scared of that future. but then, after this episode we go back from the discovering of his mind to the mindbending logic of season 1. they were both perfect in their genres. but character development is not my fav genre. it is top 3 tho.

      seeing okarin grieving and heartbroken for so so long throughout 0 was very tough, so i can understand if some people couldn't get themselves through that, but this episode is when he finally snaps out of his depression, he begins to see the possibilities and he has hope again. the reason it's so hype is because we knew he was still in there, that he still had that spark in him because that was the man who sent Okabe in 2010 the D-mail on Operation Skuld. The reason this is such a hype moment is because this is the instant that future okabe truly picks up the fight and begins to draw together all the moments across all the failed timelines to uncover the secrets of how to fool the world. It's the trick of how to save the lives of Suzuha and Mayuri NOW, and the life of Kurisu back THEN, which he can now ensure is able to happen.

    When you first started I mentioned this my favorite anime and to sit back and enjoy the mindfuck that is Stein's;Gate. I'm glad you took my advice and now understand what it is to have your heart and mind shattered to pieces and reconstituted into something more wonderous and to be thankful for it.
    Also, Kyouma's return in both series really get me but this episode I always cry tears of joy and I have no control over it.

    Damn I didn’t think I would get to relive that dread of knowing that it’s about to be over through that intro, but here we are. I’m sad now.
    At this moment in time, I agree about what you said that Steins;Gate has become underrated. The more great animes are released, the more Steins;Gate gets buried. Even then, I will not be able to stop loving this show. This is my first anime, and it has always hit me differently than the others. Yes, it doesn’t have the unfathomable and outright miraculous storytelling of AOT, but, in my heart of hearts, I still love it more. Objectively, AOT is better, that seems too much of an obvious statement now; but AOT never made me feel the way Steins;Gate did. That was different. Somehow, there’s just something about that little lab in Akihabara with its diverse cast of lab members. I feel you, I really love this show, even if no one talks about it as much.
    As for Steins;Gate 0, I think the messiness is not due to the story the writers wrote, but the adaptation. Normally, anime is really good at adapting from source material, at least compared to western shows (with some outliers that get shit on a lot), but Steins;Gate 0 is just so hard to adapt from another medium. It’s even hard to just imagine it in a different medium. The different endings, the different plot twists, the different branching paths, it’s not as straight-forward as the original. I do wish that someday this gets remade.
    This episode was just hypeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I was screaming when Kyouma returned. I feel like without the slow-build up of 0, this would never have the same impact as it did. That was so damn satisfying, it paid off so damn well. This scene honestly made up for the messiness in my mind. This scene is just that good.

      its not even the fact that more great anime are being made, its just that anime fans recency bias heavily favors newer shows and old masterpieces get buried in shows like MHA. New popular show that is mediocre will always win against old popular show that actually holds up

    • @frodo4572
      @frodo4572 Год назад

      Steins;Gate 0 is not an adaptation of the visual novel, in the visual novel we saw different endings to get Steins;gate, and the true ending we only saw the ending, but we didn't see the whole process, the anime is how they finally got Steins;Gate ;Gate. This is because you don't need to see all the contents of all the routes.

    I love how they used different uniform, weapons and vehicle to show organizations. American's DURPA (or DARPA in real) and Stratfor have american Black Hawk and Apache, M16 guns and other. Russian side has Mi-24 and OTs-14 Groza gun, SERN's rounders have easily accessible AK. It's so cool to pay attention to these little details.

    One of the things that I would say in regards to how messy steins gate 0 is, and I would 100% agree with you there, but playing the og visual novel and going through the endings it is a genuine feat that they even managed to make a coherent story at all for this show. Does it excuse it of its faults, no, but the source material for the first Steins gate was a hell of a lot better.

    • @kingofbudokai
      @kingofbudokai Год назад

      I have to agree in a sense. I never felt like 0 was "messy" in regards to the plot any more than the first one, but they definitely did a good job improving on it from the VN. I do like the original VN for steins;gate more than its anime counterpart, but when it comes to 0, I actually think the show does a much better job at telling its story than the VN does. Yeah, they cut a lot, but it's stuff they SHOULD cut to be honest with you. Even with the alternate endings. The first VN, the alternate endings are just points at which Okabe snaps in his journey. Points where he doesn't have the fortitude to keep going. They are essentially just insights into what COULD have happened if he had wavered even a little in his determination. With 0 the alternate endings were just, odd. 0 as a VN is not very good. 0 as an anime, I argue, rivals Steins;Gate in quality.
