This movie is perfect representation of saying he who fight against monstersmust watch because he will turn into monster. Its my favorite non english speaking film and its high on list of my favorites movies of all time. Great reaction guys

In ‘Oldboy’ and ‘I Saw the Devil,’ both villains meet their end, but while Lee Woo-jin has a thoroughly revengeful victory, Kim Soo-hyun has an empty revengeful defeat
The last scene is impressive.
After revenge, he acted feel like both vain and joy, but frustration that nothing was coming back..
He knew he couldn't make the villain feel as much pain as he did when his fiance died. The only way he could equal that and get revenge was to make the villains family feel that pain. But the ending shot shows that that still didn't work in terms of making him feel better about his loss. He became a devil.
He’s not the devil but in the end he was defeated by him.
A bit late to this video, but the very last scene of Lee Byung Hyun crying is often cited the best because it seems like he is crying and laughing at the same time. He is both happy and sad. He has become a true monster and crossed a river that he can’t turn back.
Lee byung is a fantastic actor.he has 82 acting awards under his belt.check him out in the good the bad and the weird. Excellent film ❤

It's indeed hard to know which one is better
When you see movies such as this, you wish these monsters don't exists, but somehow you feel maybe this is real. Once the shock is over, you'll have to ask yourself, how does the world create such people?
I like the fact that korean movies don't tend to give you happy ending. they are brutal and cruel yet you are so intrigued. i remember watching movies like "I Saw The Devil" and "Oldboy".
at the time it affected me so much especially Oldboy that movie will leave you angry, disgusted but you'll still appreciate it because it's so different and good.
Oldboy has such a twisted ending I cannot compare it to anything else!
Does he remember? Does she remember? Does it matter?
How does it matter though??!
That we ask these questions I think is the point, and a great quality of filmmaking.
Also fuck the 2013 remake, I'm talking about Oldboy 2003, the only Oldboy there is.

Personally, when I first saw this movie, it was more terrifying and more unpleasant than other movies.
It's different from ghostly fear.
Unrelenting murder in everyday life committed by ordinary-looking people.
This was to break down the psychological barrier between the movie and the audience.
"Hey, that's a movie. That doesn't happen in everyday life."

So happy to see you guys doing korean cinema. If you enjoyed this movie, and the main character actor, look into the Korean movie "A Bittersweet life".
Such a great korean gangster drama - probably the best, and a soundtrack rivaling Old Boy.

People keep saying you turn into a monster from revenge like in this movie but thats bs, being crual to disgusting psychos is fully deserving acting.
One of my favorite things about this movie is how it starts making the audience question what Soo-hyeon is doing like 45 minutes in, and then it just keeps getting worse and worse as he lets Kyung-chul go and the collateral damage keeps increasing. The nurse who was raped, the pharmacist, that poor bastard who was just running to the bathroom, his own goddamned father and sister-in-law, and everyone else would’ve been fine if Soo-hyeon had stopped when they were begging him to stop. I think the movie understands that monsters like the killer are far too practiced at being monsters for any kind of torture or violence to really affect them. You could argue that killing him in front of his family got to him (for what, 60 seconds?) and my response would be that it wasn’t worth it at all

Lmao this has been dubbed as a low five by many of our watchers. It's a very common gesture in the middle east. Low fiving happens when you do something impressive, or you turn out to be correct about something, or just a mutual acknowledgement of amazement or shock like "wow, did you see that??" .. Or someone telling an exciting story and there's a reveal or a pay-off to a previously established foreshadowing, the listener is like "dude no way 😳🫴" and extends their hand palm up for the storyteller to give them a low five. There's just so many examples haha"

Choi Min-sik, who plays the role of a murderer, is so immersed in his role that
when an elderly neighbor speaks informally in real life, you inadvertently think, 'Why is this guy speaking informally?'
He said that when he thought about it, he got scared too.
He was simply amazing in this role. The narcissism, the psychopathy, and his eyes conveyed so much without a single word. Truly a masterclass

I highly recommend ‘Memoir of a Murderer’. Very good story and one that i rewatch. A serial killer who starts to experience Alzheimer’s symptoms. I’ll keep it at that dont want to spoil anything. I think you & your father will enjoy

This movie was really hard to watch, so I stopped watching it halfway through.
If you want to watch more Korean movies, I recommend the following movies!
1. EXIT (2019): This is a disaster movie with a touch of comedy. It's not well known overseas, but it's a very well-made movie.
2.A tale of two sisters (2003): This is a Korean horror film made under the influence of Japanese horror films when they were at their peak. Unlike Japanese horror films, this is a horror film with a strong lyrical atmosphere.
3. Mogadishu (2021): Set in Somalia a few years before the Hollywood movie Black Hawk Down. The scale of the movie isn't huge and flashy, but it's a well-made movie that doesn't have any notable flaws.
