I have the Olympus OM-1 & Olympus 40-150mm pro lens it's fantastic but can get heavy and cumbersome I've been eyeing the Nikon Z50 for a while now it looks very compact and seems to have great image quality.
Oh very cool! Yeah I can see that being a bit more taxing on longer shoots. The Z50 is definitely my preferred walking around camera. I’ve done 3-4 hour stretches with it in my hands. My favourite lens to throw on it these days is the 27mm f/2.8 from TTartisan. Makes for a very light setup! Let me know if you have any questions about the camera 📷
Really like your videos. As a fellow Z50 user I am curious what settings you are using (autofocus, metering etc.) I am wondering if you can share some insights.
Thank you! I’ve been meaning to add settings to the photos, but I kind of hate how it looks haha. I shoot manual everything (except Auto WB). Metering is usually matrix but sometimes highlight if I want to crush the shadows. 95% of the time I use small single point Auto Focus. If I’m doing portraits I’ll switch over to enable Eye AF. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hey Roland i love your videos, you do a great work Can you make cinematic videos by nikon z50 16-50mm ? If yes please put it in the next video! Thank you
Incredible. I'm thinking of maybe getting a Viltrox 75mm 1.2 as it seems to have performance rivaling that of the Nikon 85mm 1.8, at a lower price! You got some amazing shots with that Nikon 85 though! Would love to see you shoot with the 35mm 1.8 S!
Thanks so much! Yes I had to make the choice between the Nikon and Viltrox lens as well. Went with the Nikon cause all my other lenses (Nikon) have been super impressive. Never let me down. The cost savings is pretty enticing though haha. I’ve shot lots with my 35mm 1.8 S! Most of my POV videos feature it :). This one in particular is all 35mm ruclips.net/video/9dBZkizkOsM/видео.html
Hello, no I haven’t had any issue with that yet. I googled it and it sounds like the ribbon cable can be faulty/gets partially unplugged. Sorry, I’m not too sure about that.
u did such a good job taking all these amazing pictures m8! u are a good photographe,i always come to here to rewatch ur videos. anyway i have been curious bout the battery life. uve been shooting since day till night, did u use only one battery or u have spare battery? how many shoots for one battery?
Thanks so much! I always take an extra battery with me on these shoots. Sometimes I need it, sometimes I don’t. Can get around 350 photos with 1 battery. Usually more! Hope this helps.
Thanks for joining me on this wild ride!! I’d love to hear from you! Leave a question, concern, or just say “hey!”.
Awesome pictures. I loved the one with the cotton candy guy and the child with the backlight.
Thank you so much!! Cotton candy is surprisingly photogenic 😎. Thanks for stopping by!
Absolutely amazing shots!
Thanks so much! 😊

Cheers Hugo! I love that car too 🚗
Awesome as usual. You really understand how to get the best photos from all of those lenses. I know you didn't inherit that ability.
Thanks mom!! Nonsense, you’ve taken amazing photos as well 😎.
This 85mm really catches the moment! Mad at You coz now I gotta spend some extra money on lens :D. Great video as always. Peace!
Ps. how often You got fireworks in there, syriously?! :D
Sorry/you’re welcome hahaha. Glad you enjoyed it!
There are fireworks at the beach like 3 times a year. I just happen to be there when they are 😅.
Love your video!!! Will be getting my z50 today can help me learn how to edit pictures/ videos
Thank you! That’s awesome to hear! Hope you love it 📷
My Z50 on its way to accompany my D500. Loving your videos. So refreshing and inspiring. Now for my ignorance. What’s POV?
Thank you Edward! Best of luck with the Z50 ☺️. POV is an acronym for Point Of View (basically just the GoPro angle).
Point Of View, his perspective (first person)
Im in love with ur videos and ur photos, i have the same camera but i dont have the 85 lens and im really trying to get it
Thank you very much! The 85 is very well suited to the Z50. I didn’t think it would work as perfectly as it does haha.

Can you make cinematic videos by nikon z50 16-50mm ?
If yes please put it in the next video!
Thank you
Thanks so much! I’m certain you could make a fairly cinematic video with that lens. That’s not my specialty though haha.
Hey! I bought this 50-250 mm lens after watching your other video. Thanks. Nice shots :)
Hey, very cool! Hope it’s working well for you :). Thanks for watching.

hey Roland do u have any issues with green screen problem (more precise 'ribbon problem') on ur z50....?
Hello, no I haven’t had any issue with that yet. I googled it and it sounds like the ribbon cable can be faulty/gets partially unplugged. Sorry, I’m not too sure about that.
@@RolandKaufmann Now I can safely buy this camera..... thanks..😊😊

@@RolandKaufmann tysm roland! 👍🏻
Had to get rid of this camera for street found the AF unreliable
Dang! Which focus area were you using? I found a lot of success with single point auto focus. But when it gets dark then the AF really struggles haha.
@@RolandKaufmann dynamic area
@@willgreig8912 ah yes I can see how that could be an issue. I like to use single point or manual focus. Take the control away from the z50 hahah
