You share your experiences like listening to a neighbor or a friend at the coffee shop. Well done, just got my Z50 and this encourages me to have it at my side as often as possible.
I spent weeks trying to decide between the Z7 and the Z6 before I finally went into the shop today and bought the Z50. Now I'm trying to figure out what I've got here and fortunately I found your channel... Thanks for sharing your knowledge! SUBSCRIBED!!!
I think I will surprise my wife with z50, she wants a small camera but it has to be Nikon because of the quality that my other Nikon d7100 has. She will love it.
I own the Z50 and two kit lens, It is a great rig. I use the Nikon D7500 a lot to, which is faster! This video was really well done. Everything about this review was awesome. As a former 8x10 camera owner I've been into pro photos for a very long time. I feel you NEED both kit lens!
Hudson, Great, honest assessment on the Z50. I agree with everything you have said about this camera. It is an outstanding addition to my gear. I took it down to Mexico and left the DSLR at home. Both kit lenses and a Tamron zoom on the FTZ adapter gave me everything I needed to cover any shots I wanted to take. Thanks for all the videos you share with us on your channel!
I became hooked on your channel with the z50 setup guide. Thanks for the video I appreciate your no nonsense professional videos. You are a great instructor thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video Hudson, greatly appreciate it. My Z50 arrives tomorrow with the 16-50 and 50-250. Keep up the great work.
I have been shooting Nikon since the mid '80's. I have not updated in quite some time. I am currently shooting the D700. I am not experienced in the mirrorless systems. I appreciate your real world info as I ponder moving to mirrorless.
Oh man I loved my D700. The 850 was the next camera I really loved as much. The Z6 / z7 is incredibly fun, but there are focus improvements for action shooting that I hope for on future models. That said, I'm not using the 850 at all since getting the Z7. :)
Thank you for all the excellent hands on advice. Bought the full 2 lens kit + FTZ yesterday. Super excited to use it in conjunction with my existing F mount glass.
John Roberts likewise just bought the package - as a a newcomer to digital I am finding all the options a bit overwhelming so it’s going to a steep learning curve!
JPR I shot film for many years, and once you realize all the potential you will have SO much fun. Get some good photo specific software, and your digital darkroom techniques with raw NEF files will amaze you too
great review Hudson..I've had mine for a couple months now and I go nowhere without it..I also got the lenses and FTZ adapter because I have some prime lenses from my D7100, which I also love..I bought mine before I discovered your channel or I definitely would have used your links..next time :)..gonna check out your set up vid now..thank you !
I have to totally agree Hudson, the Z50 is an awesome little tool. With all the camera "you tubers" that are around these day. I really dig your laid back honest reviews. Lived in OB/San Diego and an long time surfer, having surfed K38, Cabo and Mazatlan few times. Anyway well done Hudson!
I love the Z50 I got it to use when bike riding and in my kayak, I got it with the 16-50 and 50-250, both lenses are super sharp, since I use ON1 I’ve mostly been shooting jpg till ON1 supports the Z50 raw files and I’m amazed at the image quality and colors from the jpg files.
Just bought this yesterday. I’m new to photography and learned on a Canon T7. Haha Yeah... this is a world of difference. I also bought the Nikor 50 mm/1.8s lens.. that thing is sweet! I was thinking of keeping or returning but this is a keeper. Very happy with it. Great vid by the way.
This is the second time I've watched this video. Brilliant review and I have taken the plunge and just ordered a Z50 in part exchange for my loyal D7200. Now I need to watch your set up of the Z50 so I'm ready to go on Tuesday. Thanks.
I bought my Z50 and both lenses the day it showed up in George's Camera in San Diego. I liked it so much I bought a Z7 two days later. I am still putzing a bit with the auto focus settings so I am going to watch your Autofocus motion video next. By the way, I was really surprised by how good the 16-50 kit lens was. Several YT channels did not give it good reviews and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it way. I had the same experience you had in this video with auto getting great back light subjects with it.
Love my Z50 too (along with the Z7). Good to see more people using it that take the time and have the skill to show what this camera can really do. :-)
@@shashwatdas6900 I like to have a second camera that's smaller so if I don't want to carry my 'big' camera, I have something available. It's also nice to have something as a backup in case there's ever a problem with the primary camera. I haven't really run into that situation yet but it's good to have a second camera if the budget allows.
Great review. You pretty much nailed it for me. I'm a D850 shooter who wanted a travel camera and also wanted to dip my toe into the mirrorless pool. It has definitely exceeded my expectations and I love using the camera. Took it on a recent trip and I didn't really miss my DSLR at all, except for low light where I missed having faster glass. The 50-250 performs nicely as well.
Love the Bubbles profile! Grab that FTZ. There's no performance letdown with the lenses you likely use on the 850. The 35 1.8 or 50 1.8 F's are total gems on it. The 50 1.8 S will pull you further into the Z system. It's fabulous. The Z6 with that lens is a low-light, handheld dream.
Hudson: I know exactly where you are in El Sargento. I have spent several years in Los Barriles, BCS. It is also one of my most favorite places on the planet. Next time you are there, take an ATV ride up the Arroyo Buenos Aries, between Los Barriles and Buenos Aries (touted as the largest arroyo in BCS) for some spectacular rock formations and a refreshing waterfall coming out of the mountains. Truly outstanding! Bill
The 50-250mm is no slouch either. The Z50 has vastly surpassed my expectations and practicality. I'd like to be able to set a button to the Magnify function like on my Z6 to help expedite my manual focusing. That being said the Zoom in and Out are more conveniently located on the side of the display vs the Z6/7 bodies.
Nice in-depth video, thank you. While I strongly dislike using small cameras, because I find them irritatingly fiddly and uncomfortable in the hand, I am considering selling my D7200 to make way for a Z50. The reason for this is that I like to take a camera with me on my sports motorcycle and squeezing a DSLR and a couple of lenses into my tank bag, along with a couple of drinks, a snack, keys, wallet etc. is a nuisance and, as a result, I don't end up taking it out of the tank bag to use it as much as I would like, so for this purpose a smaller camera would be beneficial. For the most part it seems ideal, it certainly ticks lots of boxes but I was surprised by the ISO performance. I was led to believe that it has the same sensor as the D500 but from your pictures it's clear to see that it isn't even close to my D500 in ISO performance, I mean the amount of luminance noise as ISO 2500 looks more like ISO 6400 on my D500 and at ISO 6400 I still don't get any colour noise, with that said, high ISO performance isn't such a big deal for my purposes (taking it out on the bike and shooting during the day) and it's quite a bit cheaper than a D500, so I can definitely live with it.
I’m a D500 user and just got the Z50 just to do everyday photography. I do notice the quality does drop at high ISO. The D500 was great at 10,000 but not so with the Z50. The only other thing is the fact that I can’t enter non CPU lens data. First night I had it, took me so long to figure out how to use the self timer. Otherwise I do like the camera.
Nice video, as usual. Did you try its APS-C lens on the full frame bodies? Based on YT imagery, I had a notion of its size. Then I saw one in a shop, the other day, and it took some time for me to become aware I had looked at a Z 50 - what a puppy of a nice camera.
Thanks for the review!! I was looking for a body to back up my Z6 and primarily for video and I think you’ve sold me! Been watching your videos for a while and didn’t realize I wasn’t subscribed. Looking forward to more.
I would love to add a small camera like that to my arsenal without the wife killing me. I just got by when I added the Z6. I discovered years ago that having something small like that would be nice when I'm out with the family and don't want to carry a bulky camera but to have something when I see a shot.
Just traded my d5500 for this sweet camera. Got the adapter so I could use my favorite glass, the DX AFS 35mm 1:1.8G. Going to watch the setup video next!
Three things makes me very frustrated with this camera: 1. No IBIS dispite a hugh space for the sensor to move around. 2. Flippy screen to the side is much better. 3. No DX prime lenses for the Z-mount. And no: I do not like to use adaptors!
Good video. This might be the intermediary way I go from a D700 to Z7ii (after changes are made.) I enjoy nature and documentary style photography and want a lighter camera than a D700. I notice you do not talk about monopods. Are they as necessary with the mirrorless image stabilized Nikon?
Great question. I rarely use a monopod with lenses smaller than my 500. And then only in situations where I need to move more freely than my tripod/fluidhead system allows.
The only thing backing me from buying this camera is the lens Nikon's APS-C mirrorless lens ecosystem. With compared to Sony it's just way behind. What do you think? I am confused between Sony A6400 and Nikon Z50.
I believe the Z50 is a vastly superior shooting experience to the A6500 I have. The screen, control layout, image quality, everything about it. I'm sure the Z lens system will bloom fast after the Covid delay, but for now I don't see any difference adapting F lenses to the Z bodies from how the lenses behave on DSLRs, and I've been shooting on Nikon DSLRs for millions of frames. There are some great F mount DX and FX lenses that could get a person through. The kit lenses they made for the Z50 are astoundingly good for now too. 16-250mm (24-375mm FX equivalent) is covered in two affordable lenses that pair well with the body. If you're looking for better quality glass and insane low light performance then the Z6 is the step up. My hope is that they bring out a D500 like sports action DX Z body with insane low light like the Z6 and a bottomless buffer with huge AF improvements. I'd just shoot it with long F-glass on the FTZ. The Z50 is really a shot at the entry level market that delivers quality far above what anyone might have expected.
Thank you for this video and a great channel! Used the Nikon D5100 but not it’s working anymore. Saved some $ slowly based on family budget. Was considering Nikon z50 with 2 kit or should i just get other Z lens for it? As you said on your other video, this camera would be a great start, continue saving for the full frame body later on. I love taking landscapes, travel, some portraits. But it would just take me longer to save for a full frame. Would appreciate your advice.
Great review, and nice to know that you can shoot birds with this camera, as most other reviews say you can’t. I’m thinking of upgrading my d7000, and want a capable all round light weight camera. I mainly do real estate photography using ON1 2020 for editing, and also like to take a camera out hiking or motorcycling an I find the D7000 too heavy and cumbersome, and lacks low light performance. Do you think this will suit my needs?
When I tested the Z50 I noticed that the standard settings in Lightroom where quite interesting --- especially sharpening - with a radius at 2.0 and only 10% strength, while my other cameras have always lower radius levels.
I loved it when I had it. Great little camera. Had to return it due to my partner giant hands and a bill. I find it funny that many people complain about the flip under screen and that's about the only complaint.
Amazing video iam way more confident now. I got this for surf photography so I hope it works fine plus I got this with the kit the brought both lense 50-250mm is the one I mostly use when I shoot surf pictures
Recently found you and have been ‘liking’ all your down to earth vids. As the Z cameras have the same menus, is there a way to save the adjusted settings and transfer them between Z cameras? Subbed!
That's why I kept the right panel open in Lightroom to show them. :) just go to full screen on a computer or TV and you can see all my settings for every single image. It's right at the top right under the histogram. :)
Hello! Great review and it was a big reason for buying my own Nikon Z50. I have one small question though. When the camera is on with the kit lens (16-50), when putting my ear next to the lens, I hear a continue faint buzzing (kind of white noise), it is not loud and the mic seems not to get it. It is not affected by turning off VR or AF. The tech guys from Nikon say that it is normal, but I was curious if you can hear the same in yours :) Thank you very much! Greetings from Timisoara, Romania.
The one bummer about the Z30 is the lack of that fabulous viewfinder. It's really designed to pull in vloggers currently working with their phones. The biggest Z benefit for me is the viewfinder. I'm going to review one and do a setup video though. Stay tuned.
Man you make a lot of videos 😂 Firstly is your family ok during the fires and what not? I'm nearly in a position to get a 2nd body. I'm looking at the Z50, D500, D4 and numerous M43 bodies. Have you made a video showcasing the Electronic shutter? I was looking at an R5 video using it's Electronic shutter and I liked the results which were all in focus and no noticable rolling shutter. The guy did do test to induce rolling shutter but for general purpose use a steady panning there was no rolling shutter. Only downside of the Z50 is the buffer but I think I can deal with it.
It's woefully in need of updating, but of course I do. www.hudsonhenry.com :-) There are many more links constantly updated at www.hudsonhenry.com/atslinks and I so appreciate you using them. -h
This is my second time of watching one of your video's and really enjoy it!! I love your style, approach, and delivery!! I do have a question about your comment saying the Z50 sensor is not a D500. My Nikon friend says the sensor in the Z50 is the same sensor as the D500 and the low light performance is the same. Some say the Z50 is the baby brother to the D500. Just wondering if I misunderstood. Again great excellent video. Best wishes Duane
hmmm, The specs are certainly the same. They might, but I just feel like the D500's low light is a bit better. I'll have to test them. I could be wrong. One thing I do know is that the handling and speed of the D500 is light years ahead. It's the last DSLR I'm keeping because its so good for sports and wildlife. ;-)
@@HudsonHenryPhoto I sent you a email. Id be interested in hearing what you find out on the sensor. The reason its important for me is if the Z50 has the same sensor /low light performance there's no beed for me to buy a D500. I may have a possible like new D500 that might be coming up for sale. :) Best wishes Duane
Makes a substantial difference in noise if you use Nikon Capture NX-D compared to Lightroom/Adobe Camera Raw. Much better noise profile with Capture NX-D.
new to this channel and came across this video. I seem to fit in perfectly as this camera's target consumer; i'm curious however, a year later is this camera still a good option for the said target consumer or has there been a camera to come out recently to give this one competition? Is there one coming out soon that looks just as good or slightly better at around the same price point?
I don't see anything to dethrone it as an awesome aps-c mirrorless at a nice price point. The latest firmware update just improved its autofocus even more. Still loving mine. I've got links here :www.hudsonhenry.com/atslinks thanks in advance. :)
It's different than the DSLRs but very capable. Just as good as the z6 and z7. Watch that AF for Z cameras for motion video that I link in the description.
Resolution is pretty negligible, like the D5 vs the Z6. I think the Nikons image quality and high iso performance is better. The viewfinder, build quality and control layout are like the difference between a Yugo and a Mercedes. Just no competition.
Thanks for the review. One question: I have the Nikkor 70-200 2.8G, same as u I think. How does it perform the AF in video? The continuos tracking? What about the continuos shooting in photo mode with the same lens? Thanks a lot
I have the FL ED. It autofocuses fine, but the problem is that for video autofocus, you'll hear and/or see the steps in the F mount lens motors. I actually bought the 50 1.8 S lens to avoid that and have shallow depth of field. The new Z lenses have dead silent, stepless motors to avoid that jerkeyness that comes through in video. You can avoid all that by manually focusing like the pro video guys always do, but for applications like shooting videos of myself with the face detect system running the show in AF-F it was annoying with F-glass.
Of course not. As I say it gives you the same field of view as a lens 1.5 Xs the focal length. You get the same frame filling reach as a 150mm lens using a 100 on aps-c, but the lens didn't change at all. It merely projects a circle, the rectangle you cut out of it is just smaller with the crop sensor.
I hike a lot in nature and am looking for something that is lightweight/not cumbersome to take with me and at the same time I want the image quality to be as good as possible. Do you think that this is a good option and will it be better than the latest smart phones ? Thanks in advance :)
I'm still curious about the Z 50 and it's battery consumption. I'm considering buying another one. How much usage with or without VR? How much time spent in menus and adjusting settings? Preferred focus mode? Live view or Viewfinder bias? Auto iso or Manual? Single shot or Continuous? Image review setting? Focus peaking usage? Metering timer shut-off? AF or MF? Shooting temperatures? (very important, my usage was in 50-28 degrees) I maxed I think 400 shots on a single charge. I'm still tryna figure out why my shots count was so low. I'm leaning heavily toward low temps.
I haven't worked with it much in low temps. I have two batteries and I"ve only once needed to switch in a single day. I don't have any detailed analysis, but it feels like it's nearly as good as my Z6 and Z7 which feel just as good on battery use as my D850 and D500. I use viewfinder priority when handheld and really only use the back screen on the tripod. That helps for sure on the Z cameras.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto I'm almost certain that's where it came from. Low temps must've dropped the performance to 300-350 shots. It's just getting into the 50s and 60s for us. My D3s gets at least 3k on one charge, I'd get 4k if I wasn't in the menus.
Hi, liked the video. could u please tell me if the nikon AF-S DX 35mm f1.8 lens is suitable with z50 through ftz mount? Also is it better to buy 35mm or 50mm ?
People need to remember that the old DSLR's needed faster lenses like oxygen becuase they'r sensors couldn't handle ISO's higher than 6400 (make that 1600 if you had a DX) but today you can easily work at 12k ISO and have usable results.
I was only getting 350 imgs with the Z 50. I was shooting raw+jpg. I guess jpg only would've gotten more. I switched to shoot raw only and only used the EVF and still only got about 350 imgs.
You mean on a battery? That's shocking. Mine's been fabulous for battery power. I've only run through batteries with it a couple of times a week. I quickly decided one spare was plenty for now.
Hello Hudson, I hope you don't mind me popping into this video with a question...I am looking for a lens for my z50. I use the z50 for vlogging and I'd like to get something faster than the 16-50mm kit lens I got with the camera. Considering it's a crop sensor, getting a 20mm 1.8 s line would equal a 30mm field of view, would that be wide enough for vlogging? And also, does the 1.5X crop factor apply to the aperature as well? What lens would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
Hey there, that lens is gold. Yep, I think you could easily work with 30mm and AF-F/face detect. Oh and no, the aperture is unaffected by cropping in on the projection. I have links to it here: www.hudsonhenry.com/atslinks
Only with long lenses 200mm+ that have rotating colars in situations where I need to move too quickly for a Fluid Head system, but I want extra stability.
I remember that lens. Did it have an internal AF motor? I can't remember... It will work as MF for sure. Any f mount lens will, but it has to have its own motor for af. To be honest though... The 50-250 dx vr Z mount is so darned good and look at how cheap it is in the kit with the Z50 and the 16-50. amzn.to/3FfdeRj you get image stabilization with those lenses too. ;)
Just geeting a used Z50 along with the Z mount 1.8 50mm. Your review is so concise and CALM...lol. Keep up the great reviews

The only other thing is the fact that I can’t enter non CPU lens data. First night I had it, took me so long to figure out how to use the self timer. Otherwise I do like the camera.
gnphoto21 who shoots at 10k iso
Nice video, as usual. Did you try its APS-C lens on the full frame bodies? Based on YT imagery, I had a notion of its size. Then I saw one in a shop, the other day, and it took some time for me to become aware I had looked at a Z 50 - what a puppy of a nice camera.
Thanks for the review!! I was looking for a body to back up my Z6 and primarily for video and I think you’ve sold me! Been watching your videos for a while and didn’t realize I wasn’t subscribed. Looking forward to more.
thanks so much! very informative... upgrading from D610.... decisions between z50 and Z6... still unsure but loved the review :)
If you have the room in the bag and heft in the wallet , go Z6. It's a special camera. I dearly love mine. www.hudsonhenry.com/atslinks :-)
Just found your channel thanks to this fantastic review!
Thanks so much for that feedback Kathleen.
Great review! Would have love to see about the video qualities. Anyway, great review and great channel, gonna watch more of you!
Raslly Very beautiful shots. Congrats!
I would love to add a small camera like that to my arsenal without the wife killing me. I just got by when I added the Z6. I discovered years ago that having something small like that would be nice when I'm out with the family and don't want to carry a bulky camera but to have something when I see a shot.
Cmon the z6 is already a small camera
Great Review I have been looking at this for a while to get some great images of my son whithout breaking the bank.
Thank You.
Just traded my d5500 for this sweet camera. Got the adapter so I could use my favorite glass, the DX AFS 35mm 1:1.8G. Going to watch the setup video next!
Also it’s the two kit lens.
Three things makes me very frustrated with this camera:
1. No IBIS dispite a hugh space for the sensor to move around.
2. Flippy screen to the side is much better.
3. No DX prime lenses for the Z-mount. And no: I do not like to use adaptors!
That’s a very good review about the z50 . I was searching for last 1month to buy a good mirrorless camera 📷. Thank you 🙏
No worries! If you buy from Amazon or B&H, I'd sure appreciate your considering my affiliate links. 🙏 Www.hudsonhenry.com/atslinks
Great video! Thanks! My Z50 from B&H is on the way...
I love nikon menu and its practicality
Great that you showed pics. I was under the impression that its sensor was par with the D500. But, your experience shows more noise in RAW files?
I love my Z50 too! Great review! ;)
I'm really curious what is the autofocus performance for birds with Nikkor Z 100-400. Isn't it a great idea for an episode? ;)
Subbed!
Hi nice video. One thing I would like to see is with what camera settings you took those photos.
That's why I kept the right panel open in Lightroom to show them. :) just go to full screen on a computer or TV and you can see all my settings for every single image. It's right at the top right under the histogram. :)
@@HudsonHenryPhoto oh ok thanks, didnt see it under histogram heh
The tech guys from Nikon say that it is normal, but I was curious if you can hear the same in yours :)
Thank you very much! Greetings from Timisoara, Romania.
I really love the z50, I noticed I even use it more then my z6 haha
I love mine too. It's so handy and capable. :) I use it and trust it more and more. Totally agree.
Thanks Im buying a Z30 as a inbetween camera - low profile - so I wanted to know what the Z50 sensor was like.
The one bummer about the Z30 is the lack of that fabulous viewfinder. It's really designed to pull in vloggers currently working with their phones. The biggest Z benefit for me is the viewfinder. I'm going to review one and do a setup video though. Stay tuned.
I'm with you...wonderful review!
Hi, will stabilisation from vintage lenses be functional via the ftz adaptor?
Thanks for the video! What did you shoot this video on? I'm assuming you didn't have a second z50, so what was being used to record? Thanks!
Man you make a lot of videos 😂
Firstly is your family ok during the fires and what not?
I'm nearly in a position to get a 2nd body. I'm looking at the Z50, D500, D4 and numerous M43 bodies.
Have you made a video showcasing the Electronic shutter? I was looking at an R5 video using it's Electronic shutter and I liked the results which were all in focus and no noticable rolling shutter. The guy did do test to induce rolling shutter but for general purpose use a steady panning there was no rolling shutter.
Only downside of the Z50 is the buffer but I think I can deal with it.
Awesome review!!! Do you have a website too go through your photos? Also, thanks for all the links!
Best wishes
Duane
hmmm, The specs are certainly the same. They might, but I just feel like the D500's low light is a bit better. I'll have to test them. I could be wrong. One thing I do know is that the handling and speed of the D500 is light years ahead. It's the last DSLR I'm keeping because its so good for sports and wildlife. ;-)
@@HudsonHenryPhoto
I sent you a email.
Id be interested in hearing what you find out on the sensor.
The reason its important for me is if the Z50 has the same sensor /low light performance there's no beed for me to buy a D500.
I may have a possible like new D500 that might be coming up for sale. :)
Best wishes
Duane
might be same sensor but d500 will have different software running low light.
Makes a substantial difference in noise if you use Nikon Capture NX-D compared to Lightroom/Adobe Camera Raw. Much better noise profile with Capture NX-D.
Cool 7:20. Great video, thank you.
Such a good review!
Great video. Thanks
new to this channel and came across this video.
Nice review...just want to know how u find z50 in low light tracking and focusing with kit lens... Thanks
It's different than the DSLRs but very capable. Just as good as the z6 and z7. Watch that AF for Z cameras for motion video that I link in the description.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto thanks for the reply...
Cool review. Kinda understandable for a beginner. Thanks!
Great feedback Ben! Thanks.
I have a D3500, do you think it is worth upgrade to Z50 ?
I never own a camera. Now i am looking to buy one but i am really confused between Canon m50 and nikon z50. Can you recommend? Thanks
How do you feel about the lower resolution of the Z50 relative to the a6600 you had - i.e., 20.9MP vs.
the 24MP of the Sony?
Resolution is pretty negligible, like the D5 vs the Z6. I think the Nikons image quality and high iso performance is better. The viewfinder, build quality and control layout are like the difference between a Yugo and a Mercedes. Just no competition.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto Good to know. Thanks for the reply. I placed an order for a Z50 on Friday and am eagerly awaiting it.
A crop sensor camera with a crop lens does not make the mm size bigger. This only happens when your put on a full frame lens on it. This is per Nikon
Thank you!
Nice! Thank you!
also have you used the 50 to 250 kit lens with this z50?
No. I have that focal range well covered in F glass, so I didn't bother with it. I hear it's sharp though.
(very important, my usage was in 50-28 degrees)
I maxed I think 400 shots on a single charge.
Thank you i am watching from Jakarta Indonesia you Rock .....
Wow I heard noise was handled well on this camera according to many other reviews. My old d3200 performed better at iso 2,500
Hi, liked the video. could u please tell me if the nikon AF-S DX 35mm f1.8 lens is suitable with z50 through ftz mount? Also is it better to buy 35mm or 50mm ?
It totally depends on what you like to shoot. The 35 1.8 DX will adapt perfectly through the FTZ yes.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto I was shooting raw, and raw + jpg so I think it depends on habits.
I always shoot RAW + jpeg with it.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto I must've gotten a bad battery then. I never got more than 400 imgs on a single charge.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto I was also shooting in low temps mostly. Under 40°
Hello Hudson, I hope you don't mind me popping into this video with a question...I am looking for a lens for my z50.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto Thanks, I'll go check it out!

So is it good for street photography with the kit lens?
Will you be at WPPI 2020?
Is there a difference in Autofocus on Z6 on updates 2.1 or 2.2 vs 2.0? I'm currently on 2.0.
My recent question about monopods was unclear. I guess to ask when would you use a monopod?
Only with long lenses 200mm+ that have rotating colars in situations where I need to move too quickly for a Fluid Head system, but I want extra stability.
In the first picture from the histogram it shows that is missing a lot of detail in the shadows
I look for upgrade from D7100 ... should it be Z50 over D7500 or D750?
Will a nikon AF 80-200 2.8 D -ED lens work on the Z50? I mean the lens weighs about 5 x as much as the camera but....... Its a great lens
\\
I remember that lens. Did it have an internal AF motor? I can't remember... It will work as MF for sure. Any f mount lens will, but it has to have its own motor for af.
To be honest though... The 50-250 dx vr Z mount is so darned good and look at how cheap it is in the kit with the Z50 and the 16-50. amzn.to/3FfdeRj you get image stabilization with those lenses too. ;)
I can’t choose between the Sony a6400, the A7II and the Z50!! This is giving me a freaking headache!!
