Here we look to take out the right hand drive shaft on a VW 2.0 DSG T5.1 Mutlivan. The reason is there's slack in the DQ500 gearbox and we need to investigate what is wrong. The left drive shaft has been replaced which made the slack less but there's still too much so here we investigate further. The right hand driveshaft is known to have problems with the splines on the shaft and in the gearbox.

Hi great video. I had my DSG DMF changed last year and they said that my splines were dry but not worn to points as some they've seen. So they greased them up during reassembly. They said it's a very common problem because VW assemble them dry in the factory (?). I look forward to the next videos and hope that your splines aren't worn and you have to replace the box output shafts

Thanks for the feedback. Yes when I made the DSG DMF Video the driveshaft splines were dry as a bone. Madness putting them in dry from factory. I greased them up with cv joint grease but obviously towing a heavy trailer for 3000km has stressed the right one. As i can't get the shaft out I'm going to have to use it until it wears enough to get it out. Going on a long trip soon so will have to hope I make it. You can do it 👍
