Now the funny thing is that later that day started no problem, but then it stopped in the middle of the road and I had to push it. Now it makes sense to be some cables loose in the connection module. What do you think?

    • @YoucandoitwithJules

I personally would just bleed the rear hose. Test the system to check it all works, if not bleed the whole system to be safe. No just use what pressure was in it. It doesn't need much at all. You can do it 👍

**Update** So, I did my DSG service, and it seems to have gone well. However, I want to add that I followed the VW workshop manual method of checking the oil level. Putting the same amount of oil back in assumes it had the right level to start with. I don't feel comfortable making assumptions. So the procedure is. Vehicle in park, engine running, and then undo the drain plug. I put 5.5 litres in my gearbox to start, and under these conditions, no oil came out of the drain hole. So I added another half litre, still nothing. So I added another half a litre. We're up to 6.5 litres now. And finally, when I removed the drain plug, about 280 ml came back out. So that is the perfect level according to VW. I wonder if your gearbox might be a little light on oil? Anyway, after that I did a reset on the gearbox, which effectively resets all the learning back to factory. This way the gearbox will relearn the clutch and shifting with the new fluid. This is done by the ignition on, engine not running, and hold accelerator hard on the floor. Right into the kick down switch. Hold it there for 30 seconds, then ignition off, keep holding accelerator to the floor for another 30 secs, then release. Lock vehicle and then unlock. Next time you start, gearbox should have a fresh mind as it learns the gears and shift points with the new oil. Hope someone finds this additional information useful. And a special thanks to the videographer for the original video, which gave me the courage to have a go! Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback for others. Once drained 5.5 litres of new oil is fine for the box. The box in this video has had numerous changes and has 400k on it and runs fine. If you look online all sales of dsg gearbox oil change kits never have more than 6 litres supplied. Level is not so critical as long as there's 5 litres or more. Keep us posted. You can do it 👍
