The “original” was a work of art. So much work went into creating the detail on that patina, dirt and rust. The original was far superior to the restoration craft-wise.
When it comes to the restoration of not only these toys but about anything that people can or will restore. I think there are two completely different ideas. The first is the group who say do nothing. Leave it exactly as you find it. The second say restore it to original or better than original condition. I myself go for group two. I see what it can be and a future of continued use and enjoyment. I dont think there is anything wrong with either idea. I really just happy that not everyone thinks exactly the same way. How boring that would be. I do my own restorations with different objects including toys, cars and furniture. Its a process I enjoy and love to see how things turn out. You do amazing work, keep doing what you do. Much respect.
Beautifully restored 👏🏽😄! I’m glad to see you were able to save the original parts, and restore them to their luster finish ! As I’m sure you might have had hard time finding them. Amazing work 👏🏽😄!!
It's because it was an art sculpture in pristine condition rather than the typical damaged toys, so it's not actually a restoration. It's a bit like if you had a painting and scrubbed the canvas clean, so you've restored a canvas, not the painting.
Pity that the "corrosion holes" were made by grinding from the inside as can be seen on the driver's side door at 1:28. Nice job of painting the outside to look like rust even though the material that the body is made from is not ferrous :D
It is made that way either because of people who like the restoration process of those things or because of people who like them looking that way,as you can see in the comment section.
almost everything, if not everything this guy restores was destroyed intentionally by him or someone else before the video, i cant stand how many people on youtube are doing this now days, but at least this guy kind of tries to make it look convincing, while others just soak something in mud and leave it outside for a few weeks. do note that cast metal body cars do not rust, a big indicator of a item being set up to be restored rather then found in poor shape.
Someone made a diorama with that as the holes were drilled out and made to look like it had rusted away. You have taken away all the work someone had done.
It's his model. If he wants to put it back to original, as new, condition, that's up to him. Personally, I would far rather see a model in fine condition than one that looks like it's ready for the rubbish bin.
The original screamed out for a post apocalyptic diorama. It was perfect for it. Shame to have wasted it really. The renovated job could have been any one of several off the shelf, out of the box kits .
@@PaulFellows3430Paul, it was a pristine sculpture. Just because the art work wasn't to your taste, doesn't mean it isn't art. That would be like wanting a painting scrubbed from a canvas because you don't like the painting. It doesn't mean the painting was never art, just that it's not your preferred style. If you're building a post apocalyptic diorama (really common way for filming backgrounds in films), the original is exactly what you'd be looking for.
Eskitilmiş hali muhteşemdi, sadece koruyucu şeffaf boya atmak kafi gelirdi,en havalı model arabaya tur bindirirdi bir çok insan onları pas geçer buna bakarlardi.ikincisi önde WW logosunun olduğu kenar çizgileri belirgin üçgen ayrı bir renk olmalı çünkü tüm wolswagen panel Van ve kamyonetler mutlaka ön logo ayrı bir renk olur, son olarak branda tat vermedi.Herseye rağmen eline sağlık,izlemesi keyifli oldu.
Or it's originally part of a diorama. They're quite often used for filming backgrounds scenes cheaply, especially in themes like post-apocalyps where making full scale cars look rusted and abandoned would be really expensive
So did you originally create the model with the post apocalypse art look then decide to put it back to its original state so you could sell it or use it for another project, or did you buy it as an art piece, and wanted to see if it was possible to see if you could erase the customisation as a test or project for yourself? Personally I like both how it would've looked pristine, and the post apocalypse art sculpture it was before, but it does sadden me to see the work of the artist being erased because it was clearly part of an interesting project at one point.

Yeah, nice restoration work, but on another base it would have been better. Very ordinary when new, it was much better before given the quality of the aging. The patina was very successful, it is much easier to do a new paint Mouais, beau travail de restauration, mais sur une autre base ça aurait été mieux. Très banal en neuf, elle était bien mieux avant vu la qualité du vieillissement. La patine était très réussi, c'est beaucoup plus facile de faire une peinture neuve.
Love that this VW T1 Pickup has a spare tire behind the seat. Too bad you don't get to see it. Great restoration! Love it!
Your videos are so relaxing to watch, not to mention the quality work you do. Well done on another great one!
damn... i also like the old version. had alot of style
true!

I like it. I would love to own a full size version of this vehicle.❤

Great video. Thanks for posting
A superb restoration. Faithful to the original too, which I love.

If only all VW's were that easy to fix up :)
Creating that original patina was art.
I just love the T1 models!

Hello, nice work, even if the car was damaged intentionally, I personally consider it an educational lesson.
Thanks
Amazing!
Wow very cool👍👍👍
Very realistic condition at the beginning which is where I would want it to stay
You will go viral one day if you do this kinds of contents .
First time, in all restoration videos watched, the original model was better than the final result.

Good job ! Congratulations from France
Another awesome restoration project
It looks awesome.
Já estava perfeita antes.

Super, skvělá práce, krásný model 🏆👍🏆👍

very good, congratulations🎉

You have taken away all the work someone had done.
I agree It looks like is been rooting in some backyard for years and he destroyed with horrible restoration
Agreed 100%
i wasn't going to say it but now that i see you guys agree .. YES HE did do away with someone else great efforts and great work.
@@kenhogle7333 Looking through his video's he has, it is not the only diorama vehicle he has 'restored' (ruined).

Nonsense. It looked terrible before the restoration.

We had one of those cars for real.
Am I the only one who thinks the model was deliberately damaged and heavily weathered? I do not see a single spot of rust.
Дыры в кузове высверлены изнутри. Сразу бросилось в глаза.
Probably, yes. It has to be said that the guy is super skilled though
Great, very nice.
Fantastic
Interesting to see rust holes in metal that does not rust. It's pot metal, not steel. Those holes were drilled.

Hi
I think painting the truck blue would be better.
Muito bom....😮
Took longer to make it look old than it did to "restore" it
It looked pretty reminiscent of the real thing before the restoration.

Hello 🖐️🖐️🖐️😍😍😍🤭🤭🤭🤭
Pot metal can indeed rust. Look things up before you controverse. There is indeed rust on the roof, the door(s) and the wheels.
