All that extra movement takes away from your thought process and slows you down. It isn't a passive habit when done to that extreme. It turns me off from watching/playing quite a bit.

I think that Kibler's shuffling is just a nervous tick. You can see at around 12:45 (when he only has one card in hand) that he is still constantly moving his hands under the table. So it probably isn't something that he does intentionally.

2014 for sure. and 10 bucks is a great deal. but I would think if you were really serious about learning the game then go ahead and spend the extra money and unlock all the cards at once, it will make building decks a better experience

Burning Earth has a 3.3 rating on Gatherer (the official Magic card database). Looks like the average player doesn't know how to evaluate card power properly. >.
No, always the optimist, I think he is referring to the prediction and probability involved with playing Magic. Chance of drawing a certain card by what time and how that changes with every draw. Also complex meta conditions and strategy of plays, to me, seems harder than mere addition and subtraction.
