Really a treat to see all these games. I learn a lot every time I watch you play. One thing I've found about the Red Prowess match-up is that Plague Engineer is pretty effective as a blocker and also can combo with Wrenn and Six to kill creatures. Not sure if my sideboarding is correct but that's how I've been running it.
brick brick brick brick brick ... certainly variance was against me this match. Dude has so much restraint. After the 5th land in a row against GDS I would have thrown something
I never understood what makes people tilt because of variance in magic. Yeah it sucks when it happens as it limits your influence on the outcome of the game but since you can't do anything productive about it better to not waste time thinking about it.
@@anonofyesterday4650 The whole don't care if you can't control is great in practice and I subscribe to it as much as I can... That said sometimes you just get annoyed.
@@traycarrot I guess I wasn't precise enough. Yes, I understand why people can tilt when loosing a game to randomness. What I don't get is why they still do so even after playing the game for months or years. Obviously some people will react more strongly to bad luck while others will be less influenced by it but everyone can try and work on handling these situations better. I'm not "some third eye zen monk" so from time to time I get annoyed by things like loosing to opponent who made several obvious mistakes but getting annoyed is the end of it. I play mtg to get better (and possibly win some monetary prizes) but even when recently shuffling luck robbed me out of "guaranteed" top 8 in pauper challenge my first thought was "oh well, maybe next time".
Great content. I would watch Reid do as many of these as I could. Wasn't super relevant here, but I'd be down for some spoiler time at the end. Keep 'em coming and I'll keep watching!
Me on the morning after I woke up: I have to do my work today. After 10 minutes on RUclips: Alright, I´ll do nothing today. I am going to watch this veeedio. After nearly 4 hours: What a great day I had!
Pretty solid matches Reid. I follow all of your content and during the Titian shift match I think your gut instinct of just using your fulminator mage on Valukult would have been the best. Then you have alpine moon to name field of the dead and your prolly just won since he can’t make any zombies after that and your bloodbraids are free to just roam. Your Lilly then cleans up the Titian and the baloth after that. Trying to cut a ramp deck off green just seemed a little too cute and going for their namesake card was prolly the best play. You would have also still had the confidant working hard!!! Excellent content as always and thanks for the great commentary as always it was excellent.
Me seeing qasali in op hand: wtf is this guy doing? Qasali is unplayable and against jund unplayable² Reid: I am very surprised to see that card after sideboard Politeness at any cost lol
The bant stoneforge deck's manabase just makes no sense, it's so frustrating to watch. You can't play gavony township in your teferi, cryptic command, snowlands matter deck!
I feel like the last few Jund videos of Reid's I've watched he has had some substantial mana issues. I realise that Wren and Six probably means you can play fewer lands but maybe there is room to put an extra in.
I experienced that as well though. I have played a couple of leagues with w&6 jund and got extremely frustrated with constant mana issues, which I did not have in pre-w&6 lists. I really dont know what is is though, as it should have enough lands
@@maximiliangerlich it's probably fewer Bob. Since you're not drawing as many cards per game on average, you hit fewer land drops on average. I wouldn't know how to fix that problem since w&6 is probably better than Bob, but I think that's where the problem is.
1:29:30 does anyone know why he didnt attack with everything except for one zombie? reid would have had to block at least one elemental and one zombie. that would mean he would either not be able to block an elemental dead or would lose a goyf AND the elf. and that would give the opponent one card under bomat courier without the risk of dying next turn
3:14:47 mycosynth lattice was banned in modern but I still think you had to do that. Them getting liquimetal coating destroys a land on each of your turns and they have big Karn to exile your lands. It’s obviously an impossible situation either way but lattice isn’t something you have to worry about
At 3:06:00 , how about blocking the Titan with Plague Engineer and a Tarmogoyf? Prevents way more damage if they don't crack a relic, and still leaves you with one Goyf and all your other creatures assuming they do.
Any thought to having Confidant in the sb and Engineer in the main? They both have match-ups where they're good and match-ups where they're serviceable. However Engineer having deathtouch in the situations where it's just a chump blocker, is relevant.

Nothing better than hearing Reid say "Fascinating" after seeing some weird tech from his opponent.

It's amazing how much Reid knows about this deck. He has such a strong Junderstanding.
Keith Shusterman that was pretty bad but take my like anyways lol
Bad in the best of ways
He’s one in a Jundred.
It's like coach always said, winning games is all about exercising good Jundamentals.

Warm forest scents with just a slight hint of death.
You're a genius
Exchange the phrase “niche market” with “mass market” and you’re onto something

Just play it on 1.25x speed, Reid sounds fine and you get an extra half hour of sleep!

I made chai instead of apple cider but this was basically me. :D
As usual amazing content by reid. The prerecorded videos are also so much better than just the clips from the stream.
I'm a simple Duke. I see a Jund like, I click Reid

Very nice video as usual. I’m happy you brought back pre recorded video. Strategic insight on plays is very entertaining to me
Congratulations on the hall of fame you earned it, and as always thanks for some sweet jund gameplay
Over 3 hours of Reid playing Jund?! Reid really knows how to make my night!!
"If i have to lose to something, it might as well be Jund"
Jund, where every win feels like a loss until the last second.
Love Reid's commentary and knowledge of the deck. I'm not even a Jund player, but I still learn so much from watching his gameplay.
Reid is actually so resilient. Any number of these situations he encountered during the games would have tilted the crap out of me.

They just would have gotten valakut off the Titan at that point, the only reason they didn't was because moon was on it.

Great game play, just wondering if assassin's trophy wouldve been nice to have against some of the games that were lost.

Just here to say ive seen the video in my feed, will be back later to watch

Reid Duke makes some judgment calls
u mean jundment calls.

The bant stoneforge deck's manabase just makes no sense, it's so frustrating to watch. You can't play gavony township in your teferi, cryptic command, snowlands matter deck!

He's already playing 24, where people often play 23. I don’t know why he’s so incredibly unlucky.
I experienced that as well though. I have played a couple of leagues with w&6 jund and got extremely frustrated with constant mana issues, which I did not have in pre-w&6 lists. I really dont know what is is though, as it should have enough lands

He's already pretty heavy on lands, this isn't a streamlined aggro GB deck.
Small thing, but against valakut, reclamation sage is also a shaman, so naming that with plague engineer might be relevant
Yes!!! More of this type of content please!!!
It’s so nice seeing old Jund without Rags
Wooooooooh yeeeeas ! That’s what I said when this video popped in my feed

YES! Reid is back!!

I think the play ill do in that position 20:00, when cascade into Wrenn, is to attack and ping Liliana.
congrats on hof
1:34:33 that was so satisfying to watch

@1:15:55 why not maelstrom pulse the Servo Schematic thing? - it's not always about doing the right thing, it's about sending a message
If you're reading this message, why is it fullminator still an option with the presence of wrenn and six, reid??
Aye. Jund, Jund Jund!
More "non stream" videos like this, please. The streaming videos are so unfocused and chaotic.
Should name Shaman with plague engineer against titanshift in case the opp is running rec sage
G2: maybe killing lilliana with wrens -1 and bloodbraid was a more winning line? They probably had backup lilliana in hand too though... hard game.
Hmm interesting decision to kill the Wrenn and Six instead of Liliana when your best topdecks are a creature
