I would be on the company’s side if they showed us what “poor performance” actually meant, and I’d be on his side if he showed hard proof of conversations. I’ve heard of companies firing someone solely on the basis of going to see the doctor or requesting vacation off, but I’ll never know if they’re lying to complain about a disagreement with the company or if the company legitimately only fired for a petty reason. There is not enough context to make ANY conclusions here. These are very serious accusations.

Yeah.......like mixing truth with fiction! The driver posted videos of himself on tic-toc. He also said he had medical issues.
Relationships are a two way street. When one side becomes a liability, you are saying the opposite side cannot protect themselves?
Answer me this........a person post threats on tic-toc. Real or not the Company has knowledge of threats and does nothing. One day you go to work and a crazed man starts shooting. You get hit with a bullet. What is your next move?
Do you sue the Company for having knowledge and doing nothing to protect your work environment?
Don't be hypocritical with your answer. We all know what anyone of us would do. You cannot fault any Company for making and keeping a safe work environment! They are actually obligated by law to provide a safe work space. Too the best of their ability.

🤦‍♂️ Wtf 150 drivers with 70 office staff!!…. What a waste of money,
they could easily do with half the amount of office staff and pay their drivers more, what a joke. I can tell just by their driver to office staff ratio that company has no idea how to run a business.
My last company I worked for had over 100 trucks with 20 office staff which included 5 mechanics and did just fine, and even had redundancy built in

    3 things regarding this:
First, if he made any threats to employer, they should've contacted the authorities (or had private security detail see him off the property). Second... anyone who works away from home should have a rainy day fund of $1000+ readily available which is more than enough for a coast-to-coast Greyhound bus ticket to get home in case of getting let go on the road since carriers have every right to maroon an employee. Thirdly, my company doing sanitation & waste management had to let go a poorly performing driver and when he cleared out his personal effects he threw a tantrum at the boss like this guy here saying he poured blood, sweat & tears into his job when in reality, he rarely took care of his work truck going as far as to blow an engine and got a shit ton of complaints from customers.

Something similar happened to me in December 2023. Dispatch told me I was using to too much fuel, I thought it was a result of an high idle condition which I stated to them several times but was blown off, and was sent to a terminal to get it looked at. When I got there, I was called in to a conference call with a fleet supervisor, who started with some long winded talk about “looking out for the customers ( actually their own bottom line.) Then he informed me that the company was parting ways with me due me being written up for being late as well as over using fuel, the former I was not aware of and not warned about at all until the day I was let go. Needless to say, I was pretty gobsmacked with this, since I have been with this company for about over 13 years. I am (sort of) over it now and doing lease purchase with my current carrier. Not going to say the exact name of my former employer, but it is synonymous with the term “Weener Wagon”. Stay with them for experience, but don’t stay with them too long. Please learn from my mistake.
