IL is a giant red flag in trucking.
To leave someone stranded that far from home is unexceptable no matter what the reason...
Stay away from. Any company around Chicago.
I always tell drivers to stash away 1,000 as just in case you need to get home. Food for thought.
Out of Chicago! I never again would work for companies out of Illinois. When they tell you they are from there, ruuuuuun! They will leave you stranded in a minute. There should be a law against companies that leave drivers stranded.
This type of thing is VERY common in the trucking industry. Ive been fired for refusing a load that i didnt have the hours to complete. They stranded me over 1500 miles from home and charged my record with a truck abandonment. Thankfully I had the funds to get myself and my pet home. I tried to file a complaint with the labor board and was told as a truck driver my only course of action was to file a lawsuit. Well unfortunately I couldnt afford an attorney ($8000 just to start) so that never happened. After that i concentrated on jobs that were out and back or local. No more OTR for me. Now, 25 yrs later I no longer even work in the trucking industry. WAY TOO MUCH BS.
Anyone working with a company from Illinois or Wisconsin... Watch your back and cover your ass
Need a class action lawsuit for those companies seems like everyone is scared to get in one smh
This has to stop. How can a truck company lie to a driver and tell them to go somewhere and get an ELD fix and when they get there tell them they fired and leave them stranded? But when you abandon they truck it goes on your record. Some should be done about companies doing this to drivers. Frfr.
Taking an employee from their workplace to somewhere else, and then firing them at that other location without transportation back to their normal workplace/home, is tantamount to kidnapping somebody and leaving them in the woods.
DMG CONSULTING another one
Thank you bro I will definitely make sure I don’t send that company an application. All Truckers should just resign from that company.
Ngl the fact that its not illegal for trucking companies to abandon their drivers is mindblowing to me. Yet, if we abandon a truck it goes on our records. Who in their right mind can look at that double standard and think its right?
If they have you deadheading to the nearest terminal you're going to get fired. Gordon trucking did that to me. They went out of business 6 months later That's karma
Do not drive for
When I was starting out as a trucker I applied for ..... Roehl transport ....out of Wisconsin
People need to go on there site and leave a bad review. I bet they'll stop their 🐃💩.
