I’m currently getting my CDL though school and can tell you only about 25% of the students at best actually know anything or care about driving, most are there because a uncle or friend told them they could make tons of money or some other get rich quick dream

Similar thing happened in Sacramento, CA. with a Dick Simon trucking driver back in 2001. The guy drove the truck up the steps and thru the doors at the capitol building in Sacramento.

I remember that well… I was in California with my trainer after getting my first driving job.
That's was less than a mile from me. Was carrying condensed milk.
Just a couple of days ago I went to the Houston Tx. DPS DMV to get a learners license for my 17 year old step son. In the back of my mind I had a feeling they were going to come up with something to deny him... I went 3 times in advance to ask questions and get the brochure/pamphlet listing the requirements to avoid making repeat trips ; birth certificate ; Social Security ; bank statement ; utility bill ; transcripts ; report card ; A school picture ID ; and an original signed letter on school letterhead and seal from the school registrar to verify that he was enrolled in class. The rep there who had a very bad hostile, and angry attitude would not process the application. (you can guess the race of the woman) I could see the rage in her face. She came up with a surprise that I needed a CDD-104 a TX DPS school verification form filled out by the school registrar or attendance office to verify enrollment. No where on there website or brochure is the CDD-104 is listed as a requirement for a High School learners permit. The whole morning wasted because of the red tape at the DMV. The public is treated like crap by TXDPS DMV. Who have Very rude employees who hate there job.

( DMV) is in Colorado, if nothing else gets accomplished there, one learns how to jump thru hoops....the real fun begins when you learn how, then the game changes .. 🙄🤬
So possibly this driver was over the bs that he was facing from what it sounds like to me.
If it was this problematic they should have done something about the DMV especially if they received complaints which I’m positive they did.
But I also would like to say too that the driver should have never done what he did to take his anger and frustrations out.

There were obvious reasons for his non renewal. Anyone who would do something so Agregis as this shouldn't have any kind of a driver's license, let alone a commercial cdl. He deserves federal prison time for this. There is no excuse.

Almost killed today by a foreign driver in Illinois on i70. He appeared to be on something cause he couldn’t even focus on me as I was talking to him. This profession has become a clown shown

This is a prime example of you have to have more than one thing going on. You have to have a fallback career. Never depend on one thing for your livelihood.
I disagree with your methodology. Maybe someone in their twenties I can agree with your point however someone who has been performing their job their whole life that is all they know. There is such a thing as ageism and he is African American which is 2 strikes against him. I am in my fifties and I am sure most people my age or older do not have the desire or patience to be retrained in another field of work. That is for young people. I drove trucks over 15 years and things like the DMV and government beurocrap is why I left. Why does the DMV make someone who has been driving for decades retake a written exam on a computer by the way. I myself can do my job but if I had to retake that exam I would fail. Why? Because everything is now computerized and the DMV dosen't tell you which answers you got wrong or even gives the test back to study. The damn written test is not going to make someone a better driver just a money marketing scheme. The DMV is playing with people livelihood.
@@laserbeamdaddy I'm going to work on my diesel engineering degree while I drive. I'm a 46 year old granny. I'm sure that will get a few laughs. Even my name is a pain. Like it wasn't rough being a woman. BUT...I can drive a diesel and most these college kids can't. And most will lean towards electric engines. I have work experience and that helps some. We'll see. I'll be 50s when I finish me degree. My life expectancy is only like 65 years old. I got 10 good years of try in me at something. Maybe I'll start my own dealership.

@@TheBigOrangePumpkin I can only go by my experiences with Texas department of safety. I have been driving commercial vehicle for 43 years before the CDL came out. I tried transferring my CDL from one state to Texas when I moved to Texas. It has been a year and a half process for different appointments and nothing but headaches and drama with the state they didn’t like my Social Security card because it was old like me so I got a new one. They didn’t like my birth certificate because it was laminated so I got a new one every time I go there it’s something different that they want, I’m done with the games. Just keep my CDL and a different state that it’s already in the state of Texas will lose out on that revenue and all of my vehicle registrations revenue no sense of moving my business to Texas when they just busted my balls about transferring my CDLfrom one state to their state I don’t get angry. I don’t do drama and I don’t do bullshit plain and simple. I love Texas, but dealing with some of the state bureaucracy can be truly frustrating for no reason that’s all.

there is more to this story .I feel for the people involved . the sad fact is there are people that should not be able to get a cdl and because of the lax way of things that should be more strict and over regulations on things that shouldn't be they created a environment where sane, safe and responsible drivers are leaving the industry and getting replaced by idiots and psychos . I sat at a TA in va today and watched a driver try to park for almost 2 hours I tried to help but the guy was a camplete asshole and bearly spoke english so I walked away other people tried to help as well and walked away . he would just scream and yell. I only say this because I have a feeling this guy would do the same thing. just messed up

They would not renew his CDL because he has a health problem I imagine , That happened to my friend 3 years ago, he ended up getting diabetes and taking pills and they had to turn it in to DMV so DOT caught a smell of it and said you can't cross lines no more so he got himself a local job , about a year ago , he had to start using the stuff that you have to put in your stomach with the needle , But once they found that out DOT took his CDL from him , so this driver done that because he realize he dont have nothing to lose, what ever the reason was, it destroyed his life that is how he looked at it

All truck companies need to have a list of all drivers, and their renewal DATES.
LET them know a month in advance and follow up.
So now a temporary issue turns into a lifetime of turmoil in the worse way. Could have appealed the situation or gotten a cdl in another state. This unmanly simp tantrum cost lives, injured innocent people for something that could have been eventually worked out. This is so sad. I know a lot of us are under a lot of pressure, but losing your cool will just bring you life-long problems you can't come back from.

I have a cdl but drive a non-cdl box truck. I make as much as I would over the road since I get paid overtime. I can also pull in most restaurants and eat or fuel at a regular gas station if the truckstop is busy. This guy should have tried some noncdl driving instead of going crazy.
Should have just down graded went got a regular job because driving jobs are going down hill anyway over all the crap government is doing.
These days McDonald’s is paying a higher hourly rate than some trucking companies.
The day before this a man from Nashville drove a freightliner into our local Kroger store in Millington TN over a dispute with the employees. No body was hurt but destroyed the truck and store

I had to let mine go because of health problems, i know i worked so hard to get them class A CDL with XT endorsement i had my hazmat endorsement with a tanker endorsement and a double and triple trailer endorsement i let mine go because of incurable health problems.

A couple years ago I went to DPS office on Houston and local sheriff and police had to be on guard since angry people would bring all this list of stuff to get a license having to take a day off work then not get processed over some dumb little thing. People were furious all the time and getting into fights and verbal abuse with DPS service staff. Texas DPS needs an overhaul and simple process in place. Especially for vehicle inspections. It's so inefficient Governor Abbott needs to fire lots of people and eliminate TOLLS IN TEXAS. WE PAY ENOUGH TAXES ESPECIALLY PROPERTY TAXES AND HIGHEST SALES TAX SINCE TO MANY GOVERNMENT PEOPLE ARE DOING NOTHING AND GETTING HUGE SALARIES AND RETIREMENT DOING NOTHING ALL DAY.
Yes, you are correct, the location of the press conference is quite the quackery location. If journalists and camera crews are run over during a press conference, will they receive free medical care & rehab?
